Goodness, Gracious, Great Balls of Lightning!ScienceDaily (Oct. 18, 2012) — Australian scientists have unveiled a new theory which explains the mysterious phenomenon known as ball lightning. Sightings of balls of lightning have been made for centuries around the world -- usually the size of a grapefruit and lasting up to twenty seconds -- but no explanation of how it occurs has been universally accepted by science. Even more mysterious are sightings of balls of lightning forming on glass and appearing in homes and in airplanes. CSIRO scientist John Lowke has been studying ball lightning since the sixties. He's never seen it, but has spoken to eye witnesses and in a new scientific paper, he gives the first mathematical solution explaining the birth of ball lightning -- and how it can pass through glass. Previous theories have cited microwave radiation from thunderclouds, oxidizing aerosols, nuclear energy, dark matter, antimatter, and even black holes as possible causes. Lowke disputes these theories. He proposes ball lightning is caused when leftover ions (electric energy), which are very dense, are swept to the ground following a lightning strike. As for how they pass through glass, he says this is a result of a stream of ions accumulating on the outside of a glass window and the resulting electric field on the other side excites air molecules to form a ball discharge. According to Lowke ball lightning is rare, but it has been witnessed in Australia many times. People just don't realize what it is when they see it. The above story is reprinted from materials provided by CSIRO Australia. www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2012/10/121019102800.htm?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+sciencedaily%2Fmatter_energy+%28ScienceDaily%3A+Matter+%26+Energy+News%29

I have watched what appeared to be 2 electrical discharges flow down power lines before which looked like glowing round things and then when they got to the transformer it resulted in a huge explosion from fairly close by. I never considered that ball lightning though.
I already posted a thread about this event when it happened but a few months ago I was out one night watching heat lightning and in between the clouds I saw this thing swirling around traveling at a fair rate of speed and it appeared to have a rod or something on the side of it spinning with the energy ball or whatever it was. I could easily see how something like this could've been mistaken for a ufo and I guess the odds are small but it my have been. I consider it the one and only time Ive truly seen what is considered " ball lightning". It was pure energy and fascinating to look at as it spun in between the clouds.

What about the ball lightning that occurs when there is no nearby thunderstorm to produce lightning strikes? Ball lightning has been reported even on clear days when there were not even any clouds in the sky.

THANK YOU CLIFF... I been waiting a long time for this . watch at 2:31 . the blue ball with electrical charge in it. This is what came through my window heading straight for my head. But there was two and they were larger than this blue ball appears here. side by side they gently floated over my couch and would of hit me in the head and body had I not fell to the floor. When it went through the wall behind the couch all the power blew up and the wiring was shot. All electrical objects in my home were fried. Passing through the large window did not cause any kind of disturbance at all.. You have read this on your own thread of it a long time ago. But I have never been able to find exactly what came at me in photos or film. thanks again. However the blue encircling the ball out side of it was not there only a crystal clear glass like ball with the blue and and static inside of it was all I seen. This here is not that clear.. I will tell you something .. those balls were so beautiful and the most radiant blue I have ever seen in my life. So while seeing them I did not duck for a few seconds. I was so amazed. I might add a huge lightning bolt came down passed the window and hit the ground under it which was concrete.. I could not see the ground under the window . After this a second later the two balls came up above the window sill dead center of the window directly across the room from where I was sitting about ten to twelve feet. They stopped and did not rise any more after it rose above the sill about a foot. Then they both side by side changed directions and came at me through the window . They were no more than a foot from the glass when they rose. So you can imagine the sound in my ears when that bolt hit. Never forget it as long as I live. As I saw the flames rising up in the kitchen from behind the stove ahead of me while I lay flat on the floor of the living room . My head was about two feet from the kitchen door when I fell to the floor. I wanted out of that room but was stopped in my crawling tracks you might say... I was not going to crawl that direction when I seen the flames and the noise was horrible from all the appliances . The phone was popping the microwave was blowing up . The tv went soon as the balls came through the window and seeing it go made me drop down. That meant these things were very dangerous.

It's a good thing you were able to duck down in time and get out of harms way Lois. I'm sure it was a sight to see though. You are very welcome btw. Thanks again for sharing Lois. I could almost picture it happening the way you described it.

As the Luminous-Orb subjects are my thing so-to-speak, I have to chime in. My intuition tells me that ball-lightening is a natural electrical phenomenon which likely is yet to be fully physically understood, while there also remains the separate, yet similar appearance and behavior Luminous-Orbs, which I now contend as being a primary class of ET presence behavior.
Are Luminous-Orbs nothing more than ball-lightening? Or vice-versa, is ball-lightening simply a manifestation of Luminous-Orbs? Or is there something else happening?
Your experience is a fascinating one, and I've seen previous post by you describing this event, both here on the TEOR and as well as on the old defunct MUFON board and each version is the same! So the primary elements of your story are not morphing as time marches by. Perhaps you might consider writing the Australian scientist to share your experience with him. I suspect, that he is a fairly curious guy, and that he'd love it, while giving him a bit more to scratch his noggin over.
However, and I'm not saying that this is what happened to you, but it does push a ring a few bells within me. I ponder that it is possible that your experience could be an example of an element of a developing Near Earth ET Scientific Studies (NEETS) awareness regarding ET object mimicry.
The action of mimicking naturally occurring nature behaviors is a known 'realization' stealth strategy being employed by all classes of ET objects. (The non-conscious inter-connectivity between the statistical-analysis NEETS computer databases are statistically and clearly revealing the behavior. The behavior is outside direct Human cognition-space.)
Another example.
The most impressive luminous-orb contact that I have experienced, happened on a rainy day!! Sets the stage for alternative explanation of its presence. However, here in Los Angeles where the contact transpired, residents seldom see lightening storms. In my 30 years of residence here, there have been four lightening 'storms'? (not like those storms ya see in other areas where it zips through the sky for hours on end.) When the weather does generate lightening, which is extremely rare, the news channels always make a point of the condition.
But the day that I saw the outdoor, 4:00 PMish daylight, on my driveway luminous-orb, there was no lightening. As I recall there had been no precipitation since early morning. The sky was fully low ceiling grey cumulus overcast, and the atmospheric humidity readings via my home-fabricated weather-station instruments registered ~73% non-condensing, along with the outdoor temperature-sensor registered ~21ºC/70ºF while the barometric pressure was rising (which changed the dew-point and the reason for no percipitation). I don't recall the pressure readings, but if somebody in the TEOR held a banana to my head, I could be forced to dig-up the logs for that day. There were no abnormal readings on either my Lehman seismometer or those of my five band (result of the Taos Hum study effort) geosensor instruments. However, in retrospect, and from an instrument perspective (for Steve, Cliff and Swampy), I wish now that my instruments had included a MindSong Chaos sensor, a gamma photon sensor, a magnetometer and an ion-field-mill (fancy electrometer). I believe one or two of those would have detected the luminous-orb. My best guess is the field-mill or the MindSong sensor.
Ad rem, BTTP....I suspect that luminous-orbs that many folks see, are mimicked synthesized ball-lightening, regarding a similar subject, Bob Bigelow said to me, "they are tricksters!"
In your event, Lois, I suspect that you believe that your experience was actually the result of natural ball-lightening, is that correct?
However, consider this, during one of my photo-orb experiment sessions (I was consciously focused on ET presence subjects) inside my lab. As I recall, it was about 2:00AM on a Saturnday. I was working on the bench, a 4m/15ft long wooden-bench across the back of the lab, wall to wall). I was making software modifications to the photo-orb coordinate-space imaging system I was using for testing my ET nano-object presence theories. There was no rain, no lightening, the LA area was in the middle of a three year drought. Inside the lab, I saw a fuzzy white, tennis ball size luminous-orb enter the room through the (right of me) exterior wall, floating about a foot and half above the bench surface (now there's a coincidence) like a leaf in a gentle breeze. It moved in a straight line for my head. I was sitting at the bench working with the PC keyboard/monitor. I was curious what it was going do. I was not afraid of ET at that juncture, I should have dropped to the floor as you did. Instead, the luminous-orb moving on its path, touched the right temple of my head, I speculate, that it entered through my skull just slightly above and to the right of my right-eye. But I could still see the orb, I watched as it moved across my vision field as in a dream, I blinked my eyelids open and shut to see if there was a difference in the sight of it. It moved through my vision-field from the right-side across to the left, exiting, I speculate, out through the left side of my head. I watched as it continued on its straight trajectory as it exited the left exterior wall of the room. What I don't generally share about this strange contact event, is that which happened next. Every electrical apparatus in my lab burned out. The ceiling lights popped, the bench lights flared and went dark, even the battery powered digital-volt-meters fried. Strangely, all the GFIs (ground-fault-interrupters) also popped. The most curious aspect to the burnouts, is that the AC mains power circuit is shared with the appliances in adjacent rooms, where the TVs, stereos, VCRs, et cetera are located. Nothing in the other rooms were disturbed. Only the oscilloscopes, logic-analyzers, frequency counters, function-generators, soldering irons, all my electronic gear, and I had nine PCs running a Linux/WinNT network server system (for my work). Everything was fried, even the land-line telephone, but nothing else in the remainder of my home!!! And, a few days later, I became the victim of the Eve Lorgren schema 'alien-love-bite'. That's a whole 'nother story.
If y'all are still with me, the point is, in my, as well as that of other serious ET investigator opinion, ET mimic things of nature, to keep Humans confused about their presence, just as is claimed by RA (revealed via Dr. Don Elkin's 'Law-Of-One' ET telepathic communication experiment log). According to RA, they name the process as being the applied 'law of confusion', apparently a mutual alien activity designed to keep Humans guessing and confused about their agenda processes. Yep, they are tricky scorpious.
So Lois, was it simply an extreme electrical ball-lightening event that fried your house and ALMOST you, or tricky ET tossing in some pop & fizz to convince you that those luminous-orbs...those ET in your house were ball-lightening? After-all luminous-orbs ARE mimicked ball-lightening, while ET casually, without fear of 'realized' discovery, saunter about in their hidden agenda with you while keeping the myopic Earth scientists off their, the ET trail. Fairly tricky.
Me on the other hand, I saw the whole exercise in my lab as being simply more ET behavior data, while I was confused about certain elements, I saw it all as being orchestrated entirely by ET. So they hit my instruments just to be nasty, and they nailed me with an alien-love-bite (just exactly as Eve Lorgren's website, back in the late 90s, predicted that ET do to waylay troublesome ET investigators who are getting too close to their truths). I must say, it was effective and it knocked me for a wild-loop for a time. However, when that strategy eventually failed (in some manner they must have a monitoring structure, another bit of info...they were watching me), ET unzipped and stepped out of their Grey body-suit costume revealing to me the authentic ET behind the mask, taking off their gloves, they kicked the living-sh.it-out of me. I no longer do active ET studies because I am afraid, but I am alive. I wish I could share the juicy stuff, but they are watching....the buzz on the street is shhhhhh.
plutronusRed or Blue? Which pill y'all?
