They said that house is only 8 years old. That's not very old to have ghosts in it. Do you know who these people are Lois? Maybe you could go over there and see if there are really any ghosts. I bet you could do a better job than that psyhic woman on the show. I think she was just making stuff up. How does anybody know if what she says is really true?

Hmm...she was right about George and the gunshot. That is weird. Maybe it was just a lucky guess.

Hey Lois, how close is your house to that poor farm they were talking about? They said there were 300 people who died there and their ghosts are walking around on the land. Maybe you could go find one some of them.

I had to quit watching when the lady talked about (and showed the picture) of the scratches on her leg.
I know someone who has experienced something similar.

I'm always very wary of these ghost hunter shows that have psychics on them because there is no way of knowing if what they say is true or just a lucky guess. I know some people really are psychic but most don't go on high-profile tv shows like that. Another problem we have is that so many of these ghost hunter and UFO chaser shows have been caught faking evidence and trying to add drama and excitement when there isn't any. Kind of like when they suddenly say stuff like "What was that? OMG Did you hear that?" when there wasn't really anything there. Can we really be sure they didn't plan all this stuff in advance and share info so it would look like they were really accurate in their psychic predictions? I did like the way the dude was conducting the investigations though. He seemed to be doing it in a very professional manner. That's not something you see very often in paranormal investigations. Regardless of whether the show was real or fake I thought it was very cool to learn about the poor farm being there. You never would have guessed by seeing the land the way it is today. I bet that would be a good place to take a metal detector to. No telling what might be out there on that land. Probably wouldn't find many old coins since it was a poor house. There might be other things though. Maybe even some ghosts. Do you know where that place is, Shami? Or was since it is no longer there.

The poor farm was still there when I was just a kid. Maybe when my friend from out of town comes by I will take my camera out there. She likes to visit this sort of stuff. The people that lived there lived under very poor conditions. It was sort of like a mission for the homeless we have today. But you grew your own crops if you wanted to eat.. So many were ill and died there. I don't believe the people who owned it cared much. They would just go get some other homeless person off the streets. Yes you would go if you thought it was warm and food of course. Probably never had a proper burial either. Children died out there. It was not a pretty sight. I know the state came in and check it out. It was in shambles and the worse you could imagine. No toilet pluming . I cannot see the town officials letting it go down like that. It should of been shut down. I will see how much of it is farm land now. Maybe they stayed clear of the graveyard. I hope so..

My husband just told me there is a cemetery out there. He has been in it years ago. Maybe you can still go there. Found this under county records.. www.mchistory.org/Poor_Farm_Collection_Finding_Aid.htmlOur daily pantagraph sure did a lot of write ups on this place over a period of 100 years.

I was just looking through the death and burial record there and I noticed there were a lot of unknown people. Also quite a few colored people and stillborn infants. It seemed like most of the people were dying when they were young too, usually in their 30s and 40s. That may have been common back at that time period which was in the late 1880s and 1890s. There was one lady who lived to be 100 though. I saw a few deaths by suicide also. If there was ever a place that would have ghosts hanging around it this would probably be it. I wonder if any of the old buildings are still there or if they have all been torn down? According to the newspaper all of the land is private property now. I would guess they tore most of the old buildings down since they were so old and falling apart.

There is something else I am curious about. If there really are that many ghosts hanging around in that area than there should be a lot more haunted houses than just that one in the video. Has anybody else in that area reported seeing ghosts?
