The shadows, the crashing, the lights, the appearances in the dead of night... even friendly ghosts can push us to the breaking point
Molly S. no longer believes in ghosts. She doesn't have to believe ... she knows they exist because she lived with them for a several years. Fortunately, they were friendly ghosts who made noises, played with the lights and piano, even made a peaceful appearance. Yet because she was left home alone so often, the mysterious nature of the phenomena was too much for her to handle. This is Molly's story....
YOU CAN BELIEVE what you want to believe, but I am here to tell you, that ghosts are real and they do exist!
I lived in a house in Cincinnati, Ohio during 1989-2001, and we had a ghost sharing the home with us. The home was old and home to resemble a home in New Orleans. The woman who had the home built loved her New Orleans house so much that she built this one to model it almost exactly.
We believe that she was our ghost because she loved the house so much. Thankfully, she was a friendly ghost. However, I believe that a male ghost was also in the house - perhaps the husband of the woman. He was a bit more unnerving. Still friendly though, I suppose.
While in that house, strange and unexplained things happened to me, which still bother me to this day. I never felt threatened by our ghosts, just afraid sometimes at what I saw and heard, but could not explain. I was 18 at the time and my parents traveled a lot, so I was often left alone in the house, which was usually when odd things would happen.
One night I saw a man standing at the foot of my bed. Obviously, I was startled. He just whispered, "Shhhh...." and vanished into thin air! I also saw shadows that looked like a person. They freaked me out a bit.
Another night I was watching TV and my dog began to growl at the door of the room I was in. This really frightened me because my dog was very laid back and never growled unless a stranger was around. I was home alone, so I thought someone broke into the house. I was so afraid I called the police, and when the officer came and checked around, he found nothing.
Other things happened, too. I heard phantom footsteps walking on the hard wood floors when I knew I was the only one home. I heard keys jingle in the front door, like someone was coming home, but I realized I was still alone... no one was home yet. Lights went on and off by themselves.
