Thanks Auntym,
Got this one yesterday. Similar, but not exactly the same reasons why I left Mufon too.
Resigned from Mufon last October 2010, just as busy with cases now happily, no regrets!
Mufon has changed much in the last year....less academic & friendly. More now about lazy egos protecting their little kingdoms & titles. These 'titles' actually doing little to no work. It's about money, and this weird new paramilitary like taint to everything now....the John Schuessler security clearance issue James mentions is just the tip of the iceberg!
They wanted me to actually sign a silly paper (from Clifford Clift himself too!) not to telephone or communicate with other mufon higher ups, seems I was asking too many questions, and knew too much my friends think. I don't know about that....but like I write in this post ...weird.
They cried as a result 'insubordination!'. ;D I laughed, insubordination only exists legally in business and military circles, not a 'volunteer organization' supposedly for the 'benefit of humanity'.
Carrion's blog is perhaps the early first salvos. Later this year, stay tuned for Ken Cherry & Jim Marrs anticipated new book on the Stephenville Flap and Mufon.
Mufon and it's many well meaning members in the field, whether they realize it or not, unbeknownst to them have become part of a modern day volunteer 'WWII observer corps' submitting case reports into a Bigelow/Gov't open loop.... a pseudo Blue Book. Mufon's problem with me was 'I figured it out'.
I am rather fond of my first amendment right of free speech, so I told them where they could put that piece of paper! Incredible.

In the article James Carrion wrote:
The question I have about this incident is why Carrion waited so long to tell the truth about his resignation. If I remember correctly, (and I do) at the time he claimed that had been planning to resign for a long time and was just waiting for a new ID to be selected. He and Clift both acted like it was a mutually amicable situation. So why are we only now finding out that it was not the way they originally described it?
Was he just trying to get along with the new ID hoping that he might still have some relationship with MUFON in the future? Or is it a case where we still have not heard the total truth about what really happened?

I agree, Jo. It's a shame all of this political nonsense has to get everything so screwed up. MUFON is supposed to be investigating UFOs but instead they are making deals with billionaire businessmen, firing State Directors for silly political reasons, shutting down internet forums with no warning whatsoever, and selling people's personal information for personal profit...and after all of that we still haven't learned anything about UFOs! So what's the point?

But Ill take it one step farther and say it could be an attempt on Carrion's part to jump on some of the publicity that all this is generating. I mean think about it: His blog is silent for months (1 post between July and November) AND THEN when all this with MUFON starts coming out all of a sudden he is posting regularly again and finally makes public the reasons for his resignation? Sound like something very fishy is going on if you ask me.

well at least know i know why UFOMANIA is so dead. I purposed the same questions as I just did over there, and the reply I got was convoluted ,at best.

Sound like something very fishy is going on if you ask me. That's true. Maybe he is trying to jump on the anti-MUFON bandwagon and ride it for all it is worth. Or maybe since other people are now complaining about it he now feels more comfortable coming out with the truth. Who knows? We'll have to wait and see what happens.

The Joiner Report
MUFON
Clifford Clift and James Carrion
Date & Time: Thursday, February 10 • 8:30pm - 10:30pm Eastern ________________________________________ Location: www.inceptionradionetwork.comFrank Warren of UFO Chronicles will once again be welcomed as co-host of The Joiner Report. Angelia and Frank will be speaking with the current Mutual UFO Network's (MUFON) International Director Clifford Clift and former International Director James Carrion in separate interviews. MUFON’s Mission Statement: “The analytical and scientific investigation of the UFO phenomenon for the benefit of humanity.” Colorado businessman Clifford Clift began leading MUFON in early 2010. Clift took the helm as MUFON's fourth International Director following in the footsteps of Walt Andrus, John Schuessler, and James Carrion. He has been a member of MUFON since 1995 and a member of MUFON International Board of Directors since 2000. Clift is a MUFON Trained and Certified Field Investigator and has been involved with all aspects of Symposiums since 2004. Clift led a team in the creation of Symposium Guidelines available for all states. He also developed the "Life Time" membership program for MUFON and has assisted the Board in development of a strategic business plan. The director is a trainer of field investigators in Northern Colorado, and he also started the Northern Colorado MUFON Chapter, which currently hosts 25 members. Clift was the 2010 MUFON Symposium Coordinator. (www.mufon.com) Clift has a strong background in business having been in the real estate industry for 35 years and is president of the Greeley Irrigation Company. Currently, he and his wife Sally run a personal business in Greeley, Colorado. James Carrion began his lifelong interest with the UFO phenomenon at the age of 11 when he started his own UFO news clipping collection. As a young boy, James lived in Puerto Rico at a time when the island was a hotbed of UFO activity and he later researched the Chupacabra and Laguna Cartagena sightings. James served for four years as a U.S. Army Russian Linguist in the Military Intelligence Corps and became fascinated with the story of the Gulf Breeze six, a group of young Military Intelligence soldiers that went AWOL from their base in Augsburg, Germany to search for UFOs in Gulf Breeze. Upon moving to Colorado in 1996, Carrion joined MUFON and worked as the state section director for both North Eastern and North Western Colorado. Carrion proposed and implemented MUFON’s Pandora Project, the electronic archiving of all MUFON’s UFO case files and served on the MUFON International Business Board for three years before being elected as the MUFON International Director in 2006. He holds a Bachelors of Arts in Russian Language and a Masters of Arts in International Affairs, both from Florida State University and is also the CEO of a national computer training company. Carrion is widely recognized as a computer expert. More information can be found on his blog at followthemagicthread.blogspot.com/. The two-hour pre-recorded show will air Thursday, Feb. 10, 7:30-9:30 CT, 8:30-10:30 ET, at www.inceptionradionetwork.com.
