www.openminds.tv/william-shatner-writing-novel-ufos-alien-abduction/27253 William Shatner writing novel about UFOs and alien abductionPosted by: Jason McClellan April 28, 2014 William Shatner was a guest on Larry King Now on Wednesday, April 23. In this episode, the eighty-three-year-old actor, author, musician, and comedian speaks with King about a variety of topics including the cinematic showing of his one-man show, technology, the environment, and wine, among other things. The two also discuss a book about UFOs and alien abduction on which Shatner is currently working. William Shatner on Larry King Now. (Credit: Ora TV) Shatner does not really provide any details about this book, but when King asks him about it, Shatner brings up famed Harvard psychiatrist and alien abduction researcher, John Mack. Shatner explains that Mack “was given, by a friend of his, the opportunity to interview some of the people who said that we’ve been abducted by UFOs. After two hundred interviews, he concluded that they were right.” Shatner continues, His conclusion was UFOs are on another plain, another reality. They may not be the meteors we see that we think are UFOs . . . In microphysics, sometimes the act of observing brings about the event . . . So, there may be a photon of light that doesn’t exist but suddenly comes into existence while you’re examining that goes off in another direction and ceases to exist. The principle being that there is such mystery of what we puny human beings have no knowledge of. Shatner has a fondness for exploring mysteries and the unknown. And his book will seemingly explore the mystery of alien abduction specifically. After listening to Shatner’s commentary on alien abduction, King asks him if he believes that UFOs exist. Rather than offering a simple answer, Shatner comments, “Are they a product of us? There’s a mystery here. When a mind like Johnny Mack can say this happened, there’s too much community in these people who say they’ve been abducted, there’s too much emotional baggage, something is happening. What is it? That’s the question. So, do UFOs exist? It depends on what you mean ‘exist.’” WATCH VIDEO & CONTINUE READING: www.openminds.tv/william-shatner-writing-novel-ufos-alien-abduction/27253

About time . I've been looking all over the 'net for a personal experience he had in the desert (motorcycle?) and then he either recanted or said something to disqualify himself. Hmmmmmm. ( I did watch a lot of Star trek as a grade-schooler, I believe. I never ONCE thought of it being reality; all the way down to someday the real world having cell phones. It was a revelation when someone pointed out stuff like that to me. . It reminds me that I actually was probly very content as a youngster, with how "things were").

William Shatner just received NASA's highest civilian award last week... www.space.com/25670-captain-kirk-william-shatner-nasa-highest-honor.html?cmpid=514648

I'll be seeing William Shatner in a couple of weeks. He's going to be a guest at a comic convention in Dallas. I'm planning on being there also. If I actually get a chance to meet him maybe I'll ask him about this book of his.

That shouldn't be too hard Sky...that man is a walking ego trip. Shaking my head. Former years..I trained and showed horses for several clients and we made the rounds of many horse shows. Well Shatner's hobby is the very 'elite' breed of horse the Saddlebred and the people who are in that circle are normally pretty wealthy and old money..(established families). That is what Will decided he wanted to do only he expected those people to worship his space boots too. Fat chance.. You'd hear his trainer shouting across the arena...Bill.....you're on the wrong lead...Billllllllllllll. Everyone was cracking up. So then he decided to try reining horses..(western rather than the more strict English riding) and we watched him making a commercial. He'd come racing up on his horse and do a slide stop...and then speak his line...woah there...what you need is blah blah blah. Over 30 takes later... At any rate..he would totally ignore these little kids hanging around wanting an autograph and kiss up to the people he wanted to do business with. Sad. On the other hand Patrick Duffy (Bobby Euwing (sp)) who was also at the same shows (his kids rode saddlebreds and he always came to watch them)...was the nicest man. He'd smile and joke with people..no arrogance at all. What I think is that Bill would lie like a rug if it makes him money or gives him what he wants, popularity and a fan base. Sort of like the new Trek movie...Leonard Nimoy was happy to come back in a small part not for the money but for the fun of it. Shatner was offered a similar deal and refused because it was a small part and he would not be the star. I think Leonard Nimoy as Spock was the real star of Star Trek anyway. Let us know if you corner him Sky He also has a Science Fiction series that has been around for years called the Tek Wars.

You Californians must have an interesting life...hanging out with movie stars, soaking up the sun with celebrities...and waiting for the Big Quake to knock everybody into the ocean. We don't have to worry bout stuff like that here in Texas. Just good ol' down to earth people here...like me.

"Yeah...I was a Starship Captain for years..I could probably teach you guys some stuff. You know about the Federation right??? Hey...what's that thing??? Up my nose? SPOCKKKKKKKKK...BONESSSSSSSSS..."

Mr Spock is the king of Star Trek. He was the only reason I ever watched the show. It's always the really cool characters like that that make a show successful. Like The Fonz on Happy Days or Data on Star Trek: The Next Generation. They are the ones people remember. Speaking of The Next Generation, a lot of the actors from that show are supposed to be at this comic convention also. They are going to have some type of a panel discussion with Shatner as the moderator. A lot of other actors from other science fiction tv shows and movies will be there too. It's supposed to be a pretty big event. They are predicting that around 60,000 people will show up over a three day period. I'll give a full report when I get finished infiltrating it.

Well...all of the women wanted to be the one to melt Spock's heart. I'm so glad that in the new version he and Uhura are lovers. They found a way to let him be more human but still be so logical. Guys admired that calm cool logical brain and the fact all the women wanted him LOL. Spock was PERFECT. Bones..way too excitable...Scotty the typical sailor (fill up my tankard) and Kirk...the prima dona. Yep...Spock was the glue...and the ever present drooling Nurse Chapel. Who by the way was Gene Roddenbury's wife and the voice of the computer..and the one who inherited everything when he died. She was in all of the star treks..in some form or another and produced the last couple. Now that's a dynasty

Captain Kirk just dropped the mic. And then it floated away because space has zero gravity.by Bill Bradley Associate TV Editor, The Huffington Post / www.huffingtonpost.com/bill-bradley/ Albert L. Ortega via Getty Images Set phasers to stunned! Captain Kirk is not happy you're ignoring Mars. Actor William Shatner explored space for years on "Star Trek," and he tells The Huffington Post he's surprised that the discovery of water on Mars isn't getting the respect it deserves because it means life exists beyond our planet. "This discovery is really the discovery of life other than on Earth," says Shatner. "We have now discovered, although not literally, water is the origin of life, and we’ve found water, so there are life forms on Mars, and therefore other places. It’s the destruction of the uniqueness of the Earth and Biblical passages which say we’re the only ones around. I mean, it is an enormous discovery, and I don’t think it’s been treated with the proper respect." Shatner says Mars isn't the only major thing people are ignoring. He adds that due to climate changes "people alive today will see the advent of high water in the oceans," which he says will be "inconvenient for half the world living on the seashore, and nobody wants to look at that." "They’re burying their heads on that piece of information the same way finding water on Mars is being buried," says Shatner. The captain has spoken. He seemed like a decent guy when I met him. Told some funny jokes when he was giving his presentation, and he actually took the time to sign his name slightly more legibly on the drawing I had done of him. I was impressed with Captain Kirk...unlike the time I met Patrick effing Stewart.
