www.unexplainable.net/Ghost-Paranormal/The-Calls-are-Coming-from-Inside-the-House.shtml
THE CALLS CAME FROM INSIDE THE HOUSEBy Chris Capps 2/27/11 It's no secret that ghost stories are often retold by virtue of them gripping the listener with a visceral and unexplained fear. But the more ghost stories you hear, the more they seem to blend together. And so after researching thousands of ghost stories, a few that have left a lasting impression do stand out. Here are the abbreviated forms of a few of those stories. The Phantom Phone Number - One of the classic ghost stories is one about a deceased relative who has passed on and begins telephoning family members to leave a message. Unfortunately when this story was first told it was unconfirmed. There were accounts of it happening, but usually from a friend of a friend. Of course no one would ever be able to confirm the incredible claim because no record keeping system really existed. It wasn't until the 12th of September in 2008 when the cell phone belonging to a man who had died from a train wreck suddenly started making calls spontaneously and registering on those family members' phones. When they picked up the phone, however, all they would receive would be an unearthly static. The body of Charles Peck, who had died in that fateful crash was discovered long before the 35 phone calls were made to loved ones. The cell phone itself was never found. The strangest thing about this case no doubt is the fact that no matter where you look, the story is absolutely confirmed as true. Even checking in at the notoriously unforgiving (and reliable) Snopes website yielded a "True" by their standards. But what could have caused this bizarre manifestation? It's completely unexplainable. TO CONTINUE READING CLICK ON ABOVE LINK

I once had a dream that my deceased mother called me on my cell phone. Does that count?

lois, it was part of a dream. In the dream my phone rang and the caller ID said "Mom". I answered and it was her voice telling me to check up on my dad.
I really didn't think it was actually her. I just figured that it was my own intuition telling me to check up on my dad, who was ailing at the time.

I had a dream in which I really thought I had been on the phone to a dead friend and said to her, "Hey! How are you calling me?"
And she said, "There isn't time for that - I don't know how long this will hold up - CHECK ON MY CHILDREN!"
I did although the situation seemed pretty OK - one of the boy's older brother's and his new young wife were living in the family home, keeping everything normal so the younger brothers could carry on. Nevertheless, I found a reason to go back (to retire some professional material - we had had a practice together) and find a way to talk to her sons.
My dead friend was totally right. There was big trouble. Her younger son (who had had a brain tumor, an operation, and still had slight seizures and cognitive problems) had been pulled out of his public school and put in a fundamentalist Christian school where he no longer had his school computer, or a learning assistant familiar with him. Instead he was told he was sinning when he didn't pay attention.
This was relayed to me by his brother (+3) in the driveway. He basically told me that he could stand it but was really worried about his brother. He said that the bird that they had died and his brother was told that he had killed it by not giving it food and water. First off, if there are adults in the home, what kind of people stand by and watch the pet die and then blame the child (with cognitive problems)? Secondly - it was an old bird - it easily may have died of old age.
Just to absolutely clarify things for me, records that I had told were being safe-kept under lock and key were in an unlocked leaking garage as were all her books. I couldn't believe it but I had to. I got a hold of the kids father (who had stepped back - he was an ex and the older kids had issues with him so he stepped back). The younger boys ended up living with him for two years and they came to visit me (and reassure me) that they were OK. (They are now adults and I had lost track of them after phone calls in which neither of us had much to say anymore). I NEVER regretted interfering with what was going on.
Call it a dream but I actually think my friend called me. Maybe not on a corporal telephone...

Funny how spirits (I presume from an after life) would use physical instrumentalities to communicate with someone.
Why not just be there instead? Like sending a message attached to a carrier pigeon when the Internet would work just fine.
Perhaps you can tell I am not up to speed on ghost stuff. But I do have some good networking contacts to consult if I ever needed to. UFO's and possible ET's paying a visit is plenty enough. Between Mufon, egos of self proclaimed authorities, UFO politics, Internet crazy theories devoid of solid sources for their information (taking into account some sources desire for anonymity too) ..... a quaint good old fashion UFO case seems straight forward easy by comparison. Like meat loaf and mashed potatoes.
However, in Budd Hopkins first book 'Intruders' I recall - the witness who was subject to the strange happenings was getting very strange phone calls as well.

None of the family believe my Mother called her. She still says she heard her voice, it was plain and loud.. and clear.. I never knew what to think of it.. I was about ten days after my Mother passed.. This was 30 years ago.. I have never heard a story like this before.
Thanks for putting this on the forum. Maybe I will learn something about this type of contact and pass it on to my sister..

I think ghosts can contact people in lots of ways. Maybe using a phone is easier for them. Or maybe they think it wont scare us as much to answer a phone than to hear some ghosty voice saying Booooooo. I would like to talk to a ghost on the phone, even if it just dialed a wrong number.

I had a dream once that my grandmother called me on the phone about 6 months after she died. She said, "Oh, I'm glad I finally got ahold of you! I've been trying to reach you for a really really long time!"
Then she started talking about a bunch of people I didn't know... then I woke up. ~shrug~
I guess she's made some new friends wherever she is. I'm not surprised, she was always a very social person with lots of friends.
