"These things happen."
Well actually....earthquakes happen. Humans build nuclear plants without backup plans (other than dumping radioactive water in a source of drinking water). Good thing I don't live there - I'd be out in front raving...

Every government who has allowed nuclear power plants to be built will always say, "The impact is negligible." It's only when something as dire as Japan's accident becomes so large it can no longer be hidden that the experts and the government will be forced to come forward and admit the probability of severe, long-term consequences.

That arithmetic that said that there would only be .56 of a pickerel or whatever the heck the radioactive unit is - is that AFTER its diluted in the entire lake? Where are the water intakes for Ontario? Or smaller communities along the lake? Did the US MIND that a jointly boundaried lake was contaminated???
The woman in the clip said she was reassured after hearing that the radioactive water wouldn't matter. Lucky her. I feel much less relieved and I am much farther away.
