F-16 DronesA must watch!
As the crow flies, 75 miles west of me.
This is just amazing. Didn't realize drone technology has advanced this far so quickly. They are using up all their obsolete F-16s.
Not a good day for the future of manned aircraft. The pilot is on the endangered list it seems.
This little four minute Boeing video is really something... a first for a full size jet airplane.
Thousands of planes that were grave yard bound, with costs in the hundreds of millions, now can be used as never before. These F-16 Boeing aircraft have been in the bone yard at Davis-Monahan for 15 years and are now being used as drones.

I watched the vid with my 80 plus dad. He has days where he thinks great, but talks incoherently. Other days, talks great, but not thinking so coherent. (He was a navy man, on a ship in the phillies, during the korean conflict). His first thought was about the pilot , "It takes a pilot still to drive it". That's about all I got out of him. I'm thinking if they're going to be targets, how much will the new paint (make them like an enemy) cost? Or radar signature. Why were they considered defunct in the first place? Cost? Fuel? How will everyone know this is just a training exercise? However, recycling is great! Are they material that could be melted down or otherwise, and used for current equipment? small steps before addressing AI. Big question, if US and THEM are just going to have drones in the air, cut back on casualties, the destroying of fertile land, then when are our leaders going to sit down and play chess?? instead
