NY dad, jealous of the attention his cancer-survivor daughter received, pleads guilty to killing herPublished September 17, 2016
A New York man pleaded guilty Thursday to killing his 22-month-old daughter with a wooden baseball bat before burning her body and dumping her remains in an upstate waterway.
Twenty-five-year-old Ryan Lawrence pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in a plea deal with Onondaga County prosecutors. CBS8 reported that authorities said he was jealous over the attention his daughter Maddox received after surviving eye cancer.
Lawrence admitted beating the girl to death outside Syracuse in February. Authorities say he burned the girl's body in a fire pit, then tied the remains to a cinder block that he dumped in Onondaga Creek in Syracuse.
The child's body was found by police divers about 36 hours after an Amber Alert was issued for the missing child.
Prosecutors say the baby's mother agreed to the plea deal.
Lawrence, whose own mother worked as a advocate for victims of abuse, will be sentenced next month to 25 years to life in prison.
Onondaga County Distirct Attorney Bill Fitzpatrick told the station that the girl had a very unusual form of cancer, but she was a fighter, and treatments appeared successful.
The girl’s father reportedly told authorities that he was jealous of the attention the girl received “as opposed to the attention he was getting.”

Almost daily there's something in the news about some atrocity to a child..an innocent baby who some grown up unloads on.. Ok world conditions are frustrating and horrific and scary but there is something in people building some need to crush and destroy..and naturally children and animals are the weaker links. There IS no justification..don't care how jealous he was or messed up..or what force drove him to it...you'll note they don't go pick on the biggest guy they can find..
It's almost daily now..somewhere close..the brutality of the homeless..animals and children...is soaring.

Tell me again why I shouldn't be mad at SOMEONE?! Sigh..... A panty liner triggers a TSA pat-down just one step removed from a pap smearBy Petula Dvorak Columnist March 30
Evelyn Harris, 65, poses with her husband at her son’s wedding last year. (Family photo/Family Photo)
There’s flying while Muslim. Flying while looking Muslim. Flying in leggings. Flying while 13 and forgetting to pull your laptop out.
But did you know about flying with a panty liner?
Evelyn Harris, a 65-year-old retiree who lives in Crofton, Md., was flying to San Diego this year when she went through an experience that a court might consider a sexual assault.
She passed through the airport scanner at Baltimore-Washington International Marshall Airport one day in January and was pulled aside for a pat-down that was just one step removed from being a Pap smear.
“I started to ask if I had done something wrong or if this was ‘random,’ but before I could get a second word out, the TSA agent yelled at me,” Harris told me. “She grabbed my throat hard, causing me to choke and cough. She yelled at me for coughing. She then put her hands inside my bra and panties and groped my private parts with the front, not the back, of her gloved hand. Afterward, I worried that I may have been infected if she had groped someone else without changing gloves. Her attitude was so threatening and hostile, that I was afraid to look at her face and name plate.”
Nothing like this had happened to her before. On the rest of her trip, she had normal security experiences. When she flew two weeks later, again, no problem.
But the invasive and humiliating search she’d endured bothered her. So she filed a complaint a few weeks after the incident.
The Transportation Security Administration investigator who called her back told her the agency saves videos of screenings, but only for 30 days. At that point, it was too late. The search had been erased.
Anyway, the pat-down was legit, the investigator said. Intimate apparel has been a source of concern ever since Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab tried to bring down a plane on Christmas Day 2009 by detonating a bomb hidden in his underwear.
The investigator told Harris, she said, that “his own wife carried a panty liner with her and put it on after security, as this is something that could trigger a search.”
Indeed, turns out all sorts of feminine hygiene products could be grounds for a search, according to the TSA.
“The advanced imaging technology scanner at the checkpoint helps TSA identify concealed metallic and nonmetallic items between the skin and clothing using millimeter-wave technology,” TSA spokeswoman Lisa Farbstein said. “So if an individual were to try to conceal something in the area of the groin, the machine would detect it. It is not out of the question that the machine could detect something placed inside an individual’s underwear.”
There you have it, sisters. Our Stayfrees will not live up to their names.

Ewwwww , Swampy, I now constantly have to remind myself that you are probably never serious!!
Can you imagine all the female gender REGULARLY going through security check points (daily; hourly) when, well, they are using more products made for feminine users??
Sure, they have "cameras" that see different materials on our person. This security person needs to get some retraining.!!

Teens filmed, mocked and laughed while man slowly drownedPublished July 20, 2017
Authorities in Florida say that a group of teenagers recorded the drowning of a disabled man last week — and did nothing to help as they made fun of his struggles.
Jamel Dunn, 32, of Cocoa, drowned in a retention pond July 9. His body was recovered July 14, two days after his fiancee reported him missing. Late last week, a friend of Dunn's family came across the video on social media and forwarded it to authorities in Brevard County.
In the video, which was published by the Florida Today newspaper Thursday, the teens can be heard laughing at Dunn as he splashes futilely in the water and screams for help.
"Get out the water, you gonna die," yells one, while another yells, "ain’t nobody fixing to help you, you dumb (expletive)." As Dunn disappears under the water, one of the teens says, "Oh, he just died."
Investigators say none of the teens — all between 14 and 16 years old — called 911 to report Dunn's drowning or tried to help the man.
"They just laughed the whole time," Cocoa Police Department spokeswoman Yvonne Martinez told Florida Today. "He was just screaming ... for someone to help him.”
Police said the teens were identified and questioned by detectives, but it's unlikely they will face charges, since they were not directly involved in Dunn's death.
The Brevard County State Attorney's Office called the video a "tragedy" and said the teens had "no moral justification" for not attempting to help Dunn.

As I mentioned above there is something SERIOUSLY wrong with humanity. The saddest part of that is that those kids probably had no idea they should have helped the man. They are not raised to care and children are a product of what their parents invest in them. BTW daughter had aortic stint put in today which cleared the narrowed aorta (congenital) and had surgery on her foot this evening..with (thank you God) the loss of only her baby toe. Two others were debrided but they figure they will be fine, blood circulation excellent now. Nice warm feet and great pulses. This Mom one HAPPY camper tonight. Thank you all for kind thoughts and prayers.

Sigh........................ Atlanta mom charged with murder after allegedly putting 2 young sons in ovenFox News November 3, 2017
An Atlanta woman was charged with murder after she allegedly put her two young sons in an oven and turned it on sometime between Thursday and Friday last week.
Lamora Williams, 24, with murder in the deaths of 1-year-old son Ja'Karter Penn and 2-year-old Ke-Yaunte Penn. Channel 2 Action News, citing an arrest warrant, reported that she is accused of killing the two “by placing them in an oven and turning it on.”
Police reportedly said that the children had injuries, including burns.
Williams initially told police that she left the kids in the care of a relative, reports said, but police said they did not believe the account.
The father of all three children, Jameel Penn, says Williams called him by video chat Friday night to tell him his children were dead. Penn says he called police after seeing his sons on the floor.
A third boy, 3-year-old Jameel Penn Jr., was found unharmed.
Williams' sister, Tabitha Hollingsworth, says Williams should be put on suicide watch in the Fulton County jail.

A North Texas woman is behind bars accused of killing her two young daughters hours after deputies visited her home in response to a call that she was suicidal, according to reports.
KayLee and Kenlie Henderson were shot dead in their sleep in rural Payne Springs, about 60 miles southeast of Dallas, Fox 4 Dallas reported Thursday. KayLee was 7; Kenlie, 5. Their mother, Sarah Henderson, 29, was charged with capital murder.
Around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jake Henderson reported that he was worried his wife was suicidal and requested the assistance of emergency medical services. He then called back to say everything was fine. A deputy went to the home to make sure and did not find any cause for alarm, the station reported.
“Her husband had told EMS that she felt like people were out to get her and that’s pretty much all the information that we’ve got at this time,” Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse told the station. “Deputies spoke to them. Everything appeared to be fine. There [were] no signs of violence. Everybody said they were okay. Nobody was suicidal.”
Three hours later around 2:30 a.m. Thursday the husband reported that he woke up and realized his wife had shot the children.
Hillhouse told the station Friday that Sarah Henderson also tried to shoot her husband.
“The pistol misfired and that’s when he was able to take the pistol away from her and call law enforcement,” the sheriff said.
He said Sarah Henderson had been planning the shooting for at least two weeks and that the motive was still under investigation.

Almost a story a day of something along those lines. And don't say it's because they own guns. They cook them in ovens, drown them, starve them, torture them, stab them or shoot them. The little boy who was tortured and killed by his mothers boyfriend because the guy thought this 8 year old was gay...left a note for him mom in his school desk ...all it said was that he was a good boy.
I am delighted...none of my children decided to have children because this is one wacky world we're living in...and not getting better.

OK. I hear time and again that companies cannot hire enough people, that the labor market is depleted. And THAT is why we need to bring all these immigrants in! Then why do I keep seeing articles like this?Columbia Sportswear may close Portland office over death threats, public defecation by homeless peopleBy Travis Fedschun, Fox News November 27, 2017
Side note: Portland wants to house city's homeless in residents' yards
Pilot program will give homeowners a free tiny house if they let someone homeless live in it for 5 years video.foxnews.com/v/5381511514001/?#sp=show-clips
Columbia Sportswear may be the next business to flee downtown Portland after a series of frightening encounters with the city's homeless population, including car break-ins, human waste dumped by the office's front door and threats to its employees.
In an op-ed piece published earlier this month by The Oregonian, Columbia Sportswear President and CEO Tim Boyle said he is concerned he made a mistake when he opened a headquarters for the company’s Sorel footwear brand downtown, calling the situation "outrageous and unacceptable."
"In fact, I am so concerned about the safety of our employees at the Sorel headquarters that we are taking the next 90 days to re-evaluate our location decision," Boyle wrote.
Since moving the 50 employees downtown, workers immediately reported being harassed and threatened by homeless individuals near the new offices.
Small businesses in downtown Portland say they are being forced to close as the increasing homeless population drives away customers.
"A few days ago, one of our employees had to run into traffic when a stranger outside our office followed her and threatened to kill her," he wrote. "On other occasions our employees have arrived at work only to be menaced by individuals camping in the doorway."
Besides face-to-face encounters, employees have also been the target of so many car break-ins the company has started to refer to parking downtown as its "laptop donor program," according to Boyle.
"Given these experiences, it is a relief when the only thing we are dealing with is the garbage and human waste by our front door. Think about that for a minute." - Columbia Sportswear CEO Tim Boyle
For some small business owners in the City of Roses, the increasing homeless population has already proved to be too much to handle.
Judith Arnell told FOX12 Oregon earlier this month the decision to close her business, Judith Arnell Jewelers, came from a mix of panhandling and concerns over the safety of her employees and clients.
Businesses in Portland are beginning to consider pulling out of the city due to the homeless population.
“It’s very difficult to do business here right now. Our customers are afraid to come in,” she said.
Arnell has been doing business in Portland for more than 20 years, but the dramatic decrease in sales as the homeless population has grown has sent her packing. A few months ago, the store's surveillance cameras caught a man defecating right in front of their doors.
“The biggest problem is that the customers feel unsafe, so I can’t afford to save this,” she told FOX 12.
Another owner of a boutique in the Pearl District near downtown said a man threatened her life when she confronted him as he stole items from a clothing rack outside.
“Everybody saw it,” Anne Bocci, the owner of Anne Bocci Boutique, told FOX12. “Everybody saw it and everybody called the police.”
Portland Police are increasing patrols in shopping areas to deter crime this holiday season.
Bocci said the man came back later and threatened her life once more.
“It’s just really hard for businesses,” she said. “It’s just really hard for everybody.”
Boyle told The Oregonian he met with Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler to discuss his concerns and, while he is a "big fan" of the mayor, the decision on whether the Sorel office will stay or go is about the "well-being of our employees."
"If we can't be assured we're moving in the right direction, we're going to have to make a move," he told the newspaper.
Increasing police patrols is one way Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler is trying to stem the tide of thefts. (FOX 12)
A representative from the mayor's office told FOX12 he is “dedicated to improving public safety” in the area.
“As we prepare for the holiday shopping season, the Mayor is dedicated to improving public safety in the downtown business district," the statement said. "People from around the region and beyond come Downtown for a great retail, culinary, and cultural experience. We are working with our partners in the business community to provide visitors a great experience this holiday season.”
On Saturday, officials with Portland Police told FOX12 they were increasing patrols in shopping areas in all three precincts in an effort to deter crime during the holiday season. Officers are also working to educate shoppers on keeping their vehicles “showroom clean” to deter would-be thieves, according to FOX12.

I hadn't read this thread before now. Now I wish I hadn't. Oh...or that I didn't know that people are capable of almost anything. That teens kill other teens. That parents kill their children in horrible ways and do horrible things with the remains and might get off for being crazy. OF COURSE killing one's offspring is crazy. We can all agree to that. But the perps should be put away forever. IMO. They can get Jesus or any or salvation. But I personally don't want to be standing behind them in a bank (or met them in an empty parking garage). Ever.
We had a case here where some teens beat and then killed Rena Burke. Ten years later, the ringleader shows up dressed like a preppie school girl (thanks to the lawyer) and asking for early parole. But she has NEVER SATISFACTORILY APOLOGIZED. She can't keep the smurk off her face when she talks about the event. Obviously it was a high point in her life.
Yes women can act like this. I weep in my heart. Now I have to think about something else if I'm going to dispense encouragement and kindness today to strangers.

I have read history for about 60 yrs and the common thread is mans ability to find reasons to kill other men in large numnbers, As such I have tried to be the best prepared for conflict that I can be to protect my family many people think that reason will resolve all issues but that is not reality. Trying reasoning with hostile Apaches as an example A nun put it clearly. There is noting holy about sit down suicide Red Cloud put it clearly that he liked immigrants They were easy to kill and had lots of nice stuff while drinking whisky with reporters in the evening during peace talks Much as I like reason it some times takes a good defense to stay fat dumb and happy

Well...not to mention we were killing off their buffalo and game...and divesting them of THEIR country. Similar results when we have tried to foist ourselves on other countries. Our missionaries killed off an entire race of people...converting them to cleanliness. We are a dangerous breed of cat. As I've mentioned...if we haven't been....we should be quarantined by any other races out there...to keep us contained here on this planet. Less dangerous to others.

Don't tell ME we are an evolved species..... Texas man admits to beheading wife in front of children, storing head in freezerBy Katherine Lam, Fox News December 17, 2017
David Dauzat was sentenced to 52 years in prison for decapitating his wife, Natasha.
A Texas man was sentenced to 52 years in prison on Friday after he admitted to decapitating his wife in front of her children.
David Dauzat, 24, pleaded guilty to the 2016 death of his wife, Natasha Dauzat, 21, who was found with dozens of stab wounds. Dauzat agreed to the plea deal after Natasha’s family requested it to prevent the children from reliving the horrifying incident if the case went to trial, KWTX reported.
“They didn’t want to put the children through a trial and have them relive those memories,” McLennan County Assistant District Attorney Michael Jarrett said.
Police went to the couple’s mobile home in Bellmead, a town just northwest of Waco, in August 2016 after a concerned relative requested a welfare check. Police officers spoke to David and Natasha Dauzat outside their trailer, who appeared “calm and expressed their curiosity why the police were there.”
But two hours later, the relative called police again, saying he received a call from David Dauzat who told him he “killed his girlfriend,” according to KWTX.
Police found Dauzat with blood on his clothing at the trailer. Dauzat had beheaded his wife while the two children, ages 1 and 2, were in the trailer. He then placed her head in the freezer.
The children were not injured in the incident.
Police said the woman died from “sharp-force injuries, including decapitation.”
Dauzat must serve at least 26 years of his sentence before he is eligible for parole.

There are so many atrocities happening. Maybe there always have been but now information is more available through media. Fortunately those children were very young I pray their memories fade and that maybe wonderful relatives will handle this well for them. Almost every day....someone kills their children or their wives or each other...times ARE frustrating but I'm not sure that's it..there just seems to be a rash of wrong-headed-ness afoot. I don't weep for our country because I think it's way too late for that...I weep for humanity...because we cannot get along. We are supposed to be created in God's image..but I know he loves ALL of creation...so we apparently did not inherit that part. Well...miracles do happen...and we could use a few.

Why are they doing this?! Is this some misguided interpretation of "bring us your poor, your tired, your homeless"? Is it some misguided interpretation of "the Christian thing to do"? How do the families of the victims of these law-breaking aliens feel. You execute a robbery; you're caught, but because you are an illegal alien, charges are waived. You are not imprisoned; you are not deported; you receive a free lawyer and are told to behave yourself..... Feeling empowered, you now go out and pull another robbery. This time, someone gets killed. How does THAT victim's family feel now?
Once again, it's become, "If you don't like the law, ignore the law."City with Highest Per Capita Murder Rate Starts Defense Fund for Illegal AliensMarch 14, 2018
Less than a year after Baltimore prosecutors ordered staff not to charge illegal immigrants with minor, non-violent crimes because it could get the offenders deported, Maryland’s largest city will hire immigration attorneys to help those facing removal. It’s important to note that Baltimore has the nation’s highest per capita homicide rate and has been coined the deadliest big city in the United States by a mainstream newspaper.
Nevertheless, a city panel approved spending $200,000 this month to pay for lawyers to represent illegal aliens with deportation orders. Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh says in a local news report that the goal is for everyone to get due process. “We’re not making a decision as to their status, we’re making the decision to be supportive of individuals who live in our city,” according to the mayor.
Unlike the criminal justice system, in immigration court the government doesn’t offer free lawyers to those who can’t afford them. This means that illegal aliens who don’t have the money to pay for one must represent themselves in legal proceedings or rely on volunteer attorneys or paralegals provided by immigrant rights groups. This leaves many illegal aliens in removal proceedings without adequate legal representation.
The trend of using taxpayer dollars to assist illegal aliens in deportation proceedings started under the Obama administration. In 2015, the former president allocated $2 million to hire attorneys to represent the influx of illegal alien minors in federal immigration proceedings. The money flowed through a special program, Justice AmeriCorps, launched by the Department of Justice (DOJ) Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR).
In response to the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement policies, American sanctuary cities took matters into their own hands by creating local funds to help illegal aliens facing deportation. Chicago’s City Council led the way by approving a $1.3 million legal defense fund and the city of Los Angeles followed with a $10 million fund to help illegal immigrants dodge justice. Shortly after the city announced its special immigrant legal project, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors offered to kick in another $3 million to provide more lawyers. The only L.A. County Supervisor who voted against the fund said it’s irresponsible to allocate taxpayer money for such a program.
In the city’s case, the city attorney, whose office prosecutes crimes and represents L.A. in litigation, said the money will ensure that there is “more fairness and more effectiveness in the immigration system,” which, of course, is a federal and not a state matter.
Baltimore took it a step further by also creating a policy to go easy on alien criminals in state cases to avert collateral immigration consequences. An internal memo issued by Baltimore’s Chief Deputy State’s Attorney in mid-2017 instructs prosecutors to think twice before charging illegal immigrants with minor, non-violent crimes. The chief deputy, Michael Schatzow, writes in the memo that the Trump administration’s deportation efforts “have increased the potential collateral consequences to certain immigrants of minor, non-violent criminal conduct.”
Schatzow is second-in-command to Baltimore’s top prosecutor, Marilyn Mosby, and oversees major crimes at the state agency. “In considering the appropriate disposition of a minor, non-violent criminal case, please be certain to consider those potential consequences to the victim, witnesses, and the defendant,” Schatzow wrote to his staff.
Besides Baltimore, two Maryland counties—Montgomery and Prince George’s—offer illegal immigrants sanctuary. When the Trump administration announced it would enforce immigration laws, Baltimore Mayor Pugh reiterated that police and other public agencies in her city never ask about immigration status. “We are a welcoming city,” the mayor said in a local news report.
“We want everyone here. We want to be able to provide opportunities and jobs and careers for folks. That’s where we are in Baltimore.” This year Maryland legislators tried to pass a measure to make the state an official illegal alien sanctuary but the bill, known as the Trust Act, hit a roadblock in a Senate committee after passing in the House of Delegates and the governor has vowed to veto it even if it survives.
