I don't believe there are forests on mars. Have you ever seen a grain of sand or a hair under a microscope? I think these pictures may have been blown up many more times than mentioned. I'd be willing to say there probably is life of a sort..amoebic or bacterial but I'm not seeing the canopy of a forest..that would require an atmosphere and water and our greedy little government would already be sending out a team to stake claim to 'the red planet' (not the green one). Something's just not quite right with this synopsis.

Actually, Mars does have an atmosphere, it's just a very thin one. I remember looking at pictures from the Mars Rovers and there were several that actually showed clouds floating by. Clouds mean moisture and if they are moving there has to be wind. We also know that Mars has polar ice caps that expand and contract just like they do here on Earth. And we know that Mars used to be covered by oceans, which is one of the reasons why it is now red, because of all of the iron-oxide that was deposited in the soil by the sea water. Judging by the evidence that I have seen I would say that at one time Mars probably was covered with life much the same as the Earth is today but it gradually died off as the atmosphere became thinner and the oceans evaporated away. There may very well still be life there but it would be in isolated areas rather than covering the entire planet, and it would probably be similar to the life we have here on Earth that exists either in dry arid desert areas, or in the cooler polar tundra areas. You have to remember that life adapts to changing conditions so any life on Mars would be adapted to its unique climate and atmospheric conditions, regardless of what those are. Life will find a way. I have to admit that those photos do look interesting. I have seen other close-up photos that showed potential Martian life-forms as well. The Mars Rovers photographed certain rocks over an extended period of time that showed color patterns that changed over time as if moss and lichens were growing on them. I have also seen photos that showed what looked like some type of plant that resembled a giant mold or fungus. All of these things were deemed to be inconclusive by NASA scientists. I think that scientists in general have a tendency to be overly cautious, especially about announcing something as big as the discovery of life on another planet. They would have to be overwhelmed with irrefutable undeniable proof before they will admit it. The same goes for UFOs. I think the only way we will ever know for certain whether or not there is life on Mars is if we go there and look. I would be happy to volunteer. ;D

Actually I do know it has some atmosphere Sky..and clouds..I'm just not ready to believe Martian forests..Joseph P. Skipper does have a book on the horizon though..might be worth the read.

Looked at the Mars images. Then Skipper's website. As I suspected he also says we did not put men on the Moon several times and returned them safely to Earth too. Happily Mars has been found to have much more water that previously known, just below the surface, and that the Mars polar ice caps are not composed of frozen carbon dioxide, but frozen water. But plant life? No. Believe me, our planet would be ecstatic about such a discovery if such extensive plant life was present on Mar's. Also the resolution of our Mars orbiters cameras does not have the resolution to see individual plants, or even huge trees yet. The tracks of the Martian Rovers has been photographed from Mars orbit with difficulty. Our new Lunar orbiters (with the Moons absence of an atmosphere) has trouble barely making out the Nasa lunar manned landing sites only now! For a time in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, it was erroneously believed that there were canals on Mars. These were a network of long straight lines that appeared in drawings of the planet Mars in the equatorial regions. First observed by the Italian astronomer Giovanni Schiaparelli during the opposition of 1877, and confirmed by later observers. By the early 20th century, improved astronomical observations had revealed the "canals" to be an optical illusion. Modern high resolution mapping of the Martian surface by spacecraft further shows no such features. I hope this 'Joesph P. Skipper's photo reconnaissance photo interpretation skills was not the same person that also persuaded us to march into Iraq looking for weapons of mass destruction too. If so, will someone shoot him please! A hard slap at least! You could not keep such a discovery of plant life on Mars secret. Only in the wishful want a be world of Skipper's closed mind. Steve Space Artist illustrator Chesley Bonestell's painting in the late 1940's of his interpretation the Martian canals. Beautiful, but much new knowledge about Mars has come since.

Blue Sky on Mars?Photos from Mars Anomoly Researchwww.marsanomalyresearch.com/I just found this on Joseph Skipper's website. He is the dude who is promoting the idea that there is life on Mars. He just recently became aware of a photo that was taken during a broadcast of a documentary called The Sky at Night that aired on the BBC on July 1, 2011. The photo shows a person who is identified in the video as one of the engineers who is working with the Mars Rover team, or more specifically with the rover named Spirit. Behind him are two large display monitors that show what appears to be the Martian landscape as filmed through Spirit's camera. The amazing thing is that they are in colr and show the Martian sky as being blue!Up till now everybody has assumed that the thin atmosphere on Mars would not be capable of supporting life or of showing a blue coloring to it. This is what we have repeatedly been told by NASA and the Feds, as well as other scientists all over the world. The photos that have been released to the public by NASA are of little help in solving the question of what color the Martian sky is because they are always black and white. The photo of the Martian landscape on thse monitor screens however clearly does show a blue sky. Does this mean that NASA has been lying to us all along? Possibly. There is still a question of whether the pictures really are of Mars or if they have been altered somehow to show color. It is an interesting photo though and it only adds to the mystery. Read the article that he wrote about it by clicking on the linkwww.marsanomalyresearch.com/evidence-reports/2011/206/true-mars-sky.htm
