I heard something like this in the backwoods about three summers ago. My husband and our friend had walked to the top of a hill to try to get a gps reading.
I suppose it could be a guy with his foot in a leg hold trap. (Hopefully someone investigated that possibility).
Anyway. Happy Boxing Day. Paulette

Did you see them or just hear them?

If you are asking me, I just heard them. I did not hear the sound of them traveling. They were silent. Except for those sounds they made. And I think they were moving fast. Like 45 miles an hour. And it was exactly like they could unhinge their jaws somehow and PROJECT this sound a long ways. It was really loud.

That one in the video definitely is freaky sounding. It's enough to make a persons blood freeze. I wonder if it could be some wounded animal of some kind? I don't know anything that really sounds like that though.

Ok.... you guys already know that I am “so weird”.
I’ve heard this sound before. This was a sound often heard in the Kansas city zoo, near what was used to be called the monkey house.
A desperate cry of living in a cement jail, with a fake moat around it. Pitiful; sad.
I listened to this when it was first posted. Listened to it again today. I’m no expert, but to me this is unmistakably a very lonely primate. 😩

Why would a monkey be in Canada running around in the snow? Unless it's a Bigfoot.

And how long would a “domesticated” monkey survive in a cold environment?
I think of that time in recent history where people were casually bringing wild animals home for a personal zoo.... how many that no one knows about, that escaped or otherwise were too much to handle.
Or, a kept “pet” for many years, and the owner suddenly falls ill (whatever) and dies. Either at home, or in the process of moving.
We know that cats and dogs will go miles to return to a remembered place. What would a primate do?

On the paranormal angle, I tend to lean to a “chewbacca” type creature being “dropped off”. Sometimes picked up soon after, or considered “escaped” from its handlers.
Star Wars movies depict this “fictitious” creature as having intelligence and personality. How far off of an idea is this?
We know of grieving wild animals; their care for each other, and sometimes a peculiar attachment to certain humans.
The right location and conditions can amplify sound.

I heard a Deer make a similar sound after being shot. That must have been horrible. So sorry. My brother and his boys hunt every year. Deer, duck, etc. They have the buck head mounted over the fireplace, etc. Its not something that I ask questions about.... and havent heard stories since I’m almost always in the company of my folks..... I do think that I am “geared” to hear the suffering sounds of others, more than any “happy” sounds. Who would want to postulate that the suffering sounds are more prevalent (as the only reason)?? Anyway, this sound in the video does not provoke fear in me. Might be different if I heard it while alone in the middle of the night.
