Chicago is hanging on by a thread so let’s throw gasoline into the fire.
If you think that my blue family and I go to work every day in the highest crime ridden neighborhoods to purposely take a life...please unfriend me.
If you think that watching a video of a 13 year old dying isn’t heart wrenching to see by those of us who wear the uniform... please unfriend me.
If you THINK I should leave my children motherless by giving an armed offender extra time to ‘do the right thing’ because he/she is possibly a kid and that’s what I ‘signed up for’... yeah, you know what you can do. Officer bob Strouse was shot and killed after yelling ‘stop, police, drop the gun’ by a 16 year old. 20 years ago.
Now that the world gets to see the gruesome details of police work, we should start publicizing it all. Transparency across the board. The prostitute that was beaten beyond recognition and thrown from a moving vehicle and left for dead. The man stabbed dozens of times and lie dead on a sidewalk amongst a block party. The child viciously sodomized and raped by a trusted family member. The dog tied to a tree and set on fire. The toddler crawling around a roach infested crack house being cared for by hype uncles because the parents are in prison. We should make ALL of it available for public viewing. The 700+ homicides last year. All the victims of violent, heinous, unimaginable crimes. Police officers fight the evil that you have no idea exists. And then we go home and pretend all is right in the world to make a normal, happy existence for our families. We live with these memories, these experiences every minute of every day. We watch our profession vilified daily. We listen to people chanting that we should be dead. We leave our families on weekends, holidays and special occasions ... and get up to do it again tomorrow.
If you think my profession is the evil in this world ... please unfriend me. You have no idea what evil is and I hope to someday live in that fantasy world, too.....
