In 1988 a media circus descended in Lee County, South Carolina. When the local newspapers printed out an odd story about a seven foot tall, three-clawed “Lizard man” that was spotted in South Carolina’s lush vegetation, news agencies, as well as spectators came from all over the United States. It seemed that everyone wanted to see this bizarre creature.
Besides the eyewitness reports, there were reports of a damaged car that appeared to have been mauled by something with extremely strong and sharp teeth. Strong enough to shred the metal on the hood and body of the car. What type of animal could do this type of damage to a car?
According to those who saw the creature, it stood seven feet tall with sharp claws and red menacing eyes.
A few decades later, a new report has surfaced of another car that has been mauled in exactly the same manner that those cars were back in 1988. Strange?
There have been many theories on the South Carolina “Lizard man”. One of the best that I’ve read a few years ago, was that this could have been caused by feral dogs. Dogs with a strong bite; like Pitbulls or Rottweilers. Although it’s difficult to accept that a dog would use a car as its chew toy, there just doesn’t seem to be any other explanation to what could have possibly done such damage to a car.
Could it have been a bear?
Maybe. Usually bears rip open cars to get inside of them and grab left over food. Never to just chew on the car’s fender or hood.
Strange indeed.
