Far less mind boggling than a Squatch, is the concept that cats are actually aliens. A cat named Clyde, disagrees and states many reasons why cats are superior to aliens. I'll put a few here then you'll have to go to the website for the rest. I can't see the benefit of long long posts if they're already printed somewhere else..I found this very refreshing. Space Aliens have very big, dark eyes. Clyde: Cats have very big, dark eyes and Cats can wink. Cats are superior. Space Aliens like to chase trucks with their UFOs. Clyde: Cats like to watch Space Aliens chase trucks with their UFOs, then take a nap. Cats are superior. Space Aliens are little and sometimes cute. Clyde: Cats are little, are always cute, and can purr. Cats are superior. Space Aliens like to capture human beings and take them on UFO rides. Clyde: Cats like to "adopt" humans and get them to give them food and treats. Cats are superior. To get the full benefit of Clyde's take on aliens..go to: www.clydesight.com/space.htmlAfter all..there's as much proof in Clydes version as there is in ours

Continuing with my belief that cats are aliens...I present the following (at least it's original) Millions of people live with aliens in their own homes. They live among us unnoticed. They go about their mysterious daily business unnoticed. They are small and furry and lack opposable thumbs. They are cats. Even more worrying is the fact that these small, furry, friendly aliens are Planet Earth's only defence against an alien threat which we cannot even see! GREEBLINGS! For more on this terrifying threat click HEREmessybeast.com/moggycat/cat-greeblings.htm

Well I know that this post is well needed humor (IMO) AND I have been in the presence of cats that clearly were perceiving something, well, uh, invisible. And sometimes making choices that seemed beyond what their hard-wired-for-mice walnut sized brains might seem to warrent.
1. I moved into a room (while in university) which had been another student's. He moved upstairs (we all lived in an old house). His cat did not accept the move (and she was heavy with kitten and even more cat-like than usual). So I came home to discover that the event had occurred on my electric blanket and the family was fine. I promptly moved them all into a box under my bed - it was not my cat and I wasn't about to share my bed with all of them. I tell these details because IT WAS NOT MY CAT and there was no bond of affection or feeding or anything. Imagine my surprise to sorta wake up to discover that the mother cat was yowling in my face and scratching my chest. And then to discover that, as distressful as this was, I couldn't wake up. And THEN discovering that the open gas space heater (commonly used in old houses) had used up the oxygen in the room and was barely flickering as it hissed gas. I got to window, took a breath, turned off the gas and aired out the room. Thereby saving all of us. But the cat knew that I was her and her family's only hope. And so she took direct heroic action. There are many stories like this. I owe my life to someone else's cat!
2. Skip forward to my move to Canada. I ran out of money and ended up living in a cabin in the woods. The owner was a hard drinking crazoo and often didn't come home. His cat or the cabin cat (again, not my cat) lived with me in that cabin. I lived on some abandoned potatoes and honey for many meals. The cat fed itself but would sit in my lap and purr because I lit the fire. One night there were distinct footsteps across the ceiling (the cabin had two bedrooms upstairs). The cat tracked the footsteps by moving its head and then gave me a freaked out cat look. It was not the owner. It was not an animal in the house - unless it was a Sasquatch! I went up and looked. This was not the only time that it heard or sensed something. Or me either. That fact that we both did made me feel a little less crazy, squatting in a dark cabin in a foreign country.
I think cats have esp powers and that is exactly why they were familiars to the witches. Perhaps all animals do but most of them do not fit comfortably into a small living space as cats do.

All fun aside..cats are mysterious critters. They do seem to have some esp gifts and see things we can't. They are emphatic I think..leastwise if I'm not feeling good or I'm upset, I'm besieged by purring fur piles trying to comfort. I am NOT a cat lover but I have 5 that have chosen to annoy me with their affections and have coerced me into cat treats and full bowls of cat food and water and cat nip..I KNOW they are manipulating me on a base level...somehow. Personally..I think there is something to the cats are aliens thing.

Speaking of cats, I was at my computer a few nights ago beside my living room picture window. I would glance out the window once and awhile. Here was the neighbors cat standing on the the very top of the neighbors car facing the street, the car was in her driveway. He was up on all four not moving .. only his head would look up the street then down the street.
It was dark outside but the streetlight was shinning directly on him.. I thought to myself, he is acting strange.. then turned back to my computer. About a half hour later I glanced out the windwo again.. This silly cat was still standing in this position. So I went to tell me neighbor to come look, she walked out side but the cat jumped off the car and ran to her.
It was downright spooky. She had been hit by a car out in the street about a week before. It had hit her in the head but she suffered no injuries. . The neighbor said he likes to go across the street at night to the nurses home as they have cats. Well I told her it was watching the traffic go by for a half hour. It did not go into the street or has since. But what was the purpose to his actions that night. One would have to of seen this cat, to know how unusual it looked. Standing in the dead center on the very top of that car. By the way his name is Larry..

That was refreshing, I will tell you this though. My cat Aerogoth he sounds like he is talking sometimes(not literally) he makes these weird noises when noone is in the room and you think someone is in there talking it sometimes really does sound like words but in a very very weird way. I'll try to record it next time he does it. It kinda creeps me out so I usually go tell him to be quiet lol

Yeah, I like my little cat but he really does creep me out sometimes. It seems like there is a lot more intelligence behind those eyes sometimes. I remember when I was a little kid I used to have a bunch of kittens my cat had so naturally i carried them everywheres with me lol. I was 5 or 6 and I took one to my buddies house and it got scared and scratched some of my nipple off. Evil little critter........ jk haha but it did hurt.

I was picking raspberries in my friend's patch when her large tabby came over and flopped down next to me. I gave it a half-hearted pet - really did not want cat hairs on my berry picking fingers. It then gently but firmly bit me. Obviously I was to continue. I mentioned this to my friend and she said (semi-seriously) that she was jealous - she thought he only bit her and that it was a love bite.
It definitely was not a serious bite. They do have pointy little teeth and it did not break the skin.
I was picking again yesterday and he came over and I said, "Now don't bite me if you don't want to be in trouble with the person who opens the cat food can." He looked at me and strolled over to her instead.
Like I said, their brains are the size of a walnut. But they do seem to do complex stuff sometimes.
