many giant skeletons have been found all over the world. here is what they may have looked like.

Does this mean that the supposed photos are manipulated images? I don't remember seeing any news showing skeletons of giant humans. The one on the bottom of the ocean was too intact to be real. The one in the street? Did I miss some reality going by or was this an ambivilent video that didn't actually claim they were real???

That doesn't mean that giant humans aren't real though. There have recently been living examples of people who were almost 9 feet tall, and history is ripe with tales of people who were even taller than that, but they were isolated examples caused by some physical aberration rather than normal groups of people.

Geologists have marvelled at this giant foot print in rough granite, about 4 feet long. It is located in South Africa, near the town of Mpaluzi, close to the Swaziland border. It is estimated to be between 200 million and 3 Billion years old because of our current understanding of the formation of granites in Earth's history.

I don't mean to burst the giant footprint bubble but that so called "footprint" is in granite, which is an igneous rock, which means it is volcanic in origin. It's also extremely hard which means that nobody could make a footprint in it by stepping on it, no matter how big they were. A brontosaurus couldn't make a footprint in granite.

The weather could though. Granite flakes off very easily when exposed to rain and wind over millions of years and it ends up forming some really weird geometric shapes. Having a hole take the shape of a "footprint" is not all that unrealistic. It just eroded that way naturally.

So much knowledge has been lost throughout the ages—destroyed by war, natural disasters, human igannance, or simply by the erosion of time. However, with all that has been lost, much remains buried. Perhaps the clues to solving age-old mysteries are right beneath our feet.

In the search for evidence that giant existed, some have looked to the large mounds of the American Midwest, some to the massive and mysterious structures of the Middle East.

Abraham Lincoln stated, inspired by viewing Niagara Falls: “The eyes of that species of extinct giants, whose bones fill the mounds of America, have gazed on Niagara, as ours do now. Contemporary with the whole race of men, and older than the first man, Niagara is strong, and fresh today as 10,000 years ago.”






The shadows of real giants loom large, some say, in the legends of many cultures. The controversial discoveries of skeletons measuring 7 feet to more than 9 feet tall, along with other artifacts, have suggested to some that truth inspired these legends.

Researchers who explore these possibilities, and often face ridicule from more conventional scientists, say that in the remote past giants with a median height of 7 feet or taller occupied the Earth alongside humans of roughly our size. Moreover, these giants may have had their own culture, civilization, and perhaps even several nations or races of giants may have existed at different times and in different places.

Skeletons of up to three meters in height were discovered in the Amazon region near Ecuador and Peru. Now a group of researchers from Germany will examine and study the mysterious remains in hoping to unravel the mystery behind them says British anthropologist Russell Dement. Will experts prove the existence of ‘giants’ that inhabited the Amazon in the distant past?

Genesis 6:4 “The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.”

According to Cuenca Highlife, since 2013, a team of experts discovered a dozen of mysterious skeletons which are believed to date back to 1400 and 1500 AD. These mysterious skeletons measure up to three meters in height.

“We are at a very early stage of our investigation and I’m the only one who is allowed to communicate the details of what we found. I do not want to make claims based on speculation as the work proceeds. Given the size of the skeletons, this has both medical and anthropological implications, “said Dement.

In late 2013, Dement received information from the locals in the region about the discovery of a very unusual skeleton, located approximately 100 kilometers from Cuenca in Ecuador. Dement traveled to the scene and recovered the rib cage and skull of a woman who surfaced due to flooding in the area. The dating carried out on the bones yielded an age of around 600 years. Subsequently the remaining bones were found which provided researchers with a skeletal height of 2.23 meters. Other skeletons had up to three meters in height.

“Because of the sensational nature of this, we have to be extremely diligent in our research since it will be met with a great deal of skepticism,” he said.





Dement was were surprised about the discovery and decided to create a research team that included scholars and experts from the Freie University in Germany. Dement and his team had the invaluable help of the locals who made it much easier for Dement and his team to investigate the mysterious skeletons.

“Even though I had been working with Freie for many years, I was concerned that they might not give a grant for someone looking for giants. To outsiders, especially scientists, I understand this sounds a little hair-brained.

According to experts the skeletons had no disfiguration whatsoever suggesting that these “giant” beings were relatively healthy.

“The skeletons show no signs of diseases such as the hormonal growth problems that are common in most cases of gigantism. In all the skeletons, the joints seemed healthy and lung cavity appeared large. One of the skeletons that we have dated was of a female who was about 60 when she died, much older than typical cases of gigantism,” reports Cuenca Highlife.

Dement had already studied the natives from the Amazon and heard of legends that speak of ‘very tall, pale-skinned people who lived in the region’. The elders described the giants as a ‘race of large, peaceful Amazonians’ very welcomed by locals.

well there have always been rumors of 'giants' and 'dwarfs' but to an average person is a 7 foot tall man a giant? or a 2 ft tall human a dwarf? Because we have those now. They're not the standard..but they exist from time to time. I'm not discounting the possibility of giants or dwarfs..but I do wonder.

Strikingly tall skeletons uncovered in the Ecuador and Peru Amazon region are undergoing examination in Germany, according to a research team headed by British anthropologist Russell Dement. Will these remains prove that a race of tall people existed hundreds of years ago deep in the Amazonian rainforest?

Since 2013, the team has reported finding half a dozen human skeletons dating to the early 1400s and the mid-1500s that measure between 7 and 8 feet (213 to 243 centimeters) in height.

Dement told Cuenca Highlife: “We are very early in our research and I am only able to provide a general overview of what we have found. I don’t want to make claims based on speculation since our work is ongoing. Because of the size of the skeletons, this has both anthropological and medical implications.”

In late 2013, Dement received word that a skeleton had been uncovered by a Shuar local, approximately 70 miles (112 kilometers) from Cuenca, in Loja Province, Ecuador. Dement traveled to the site and recovered the rib cage and skull of a female which had been exposed by flooding. The bones were thought to date to 600 years ago. The rest of the skeleton was located and, once assembled, reportedly measured 7 feet and 4 inches (223.5 centimeters) in height.

This prompted the formation of a research team including four researchers from Freie Universität in Germany, and the assistance of Shuar locals. Funding was provided by the university for excavation and investigation.

From this 150 page book, I get the impression that John Keel did experience a lot of this phenomenon himself. . .

Sensational claims require sensational evidence

In the words of Vine Deloria, a Native American author, and professor of law:

“Modern day archaeology and anthropology have nearly sealed the door on our imaginations, broadly interpreting the North American past as devoid of anything unusual in the way of great cultures characterized by a people of unusual demeanor. The great interloper of ancient burial grounds, the nineteenth century Smithsonian Institution, created a one-way portal, through which uncounted bones have been spirited. This door and the contents of its vault are virtually sealed off to anyone, but government officials. Among these bones may lay answers not even sought by these officials concerning the deep past.”





On May 4, 1912, the New York Times published a surprising news: Archaeological excavations near Lake Delavan in Wisconsin had found skeletons of extraordinary dimensions.

In other words, they looked like giants.





Their heads were elongated and larger than normal. According to news of the time, the skeletons found by a group of archaeologists of the University Beloit College of Wisconsin measured between 2’3 and 3 meters.

These were just some of the many skeletons that were discovered around the globe.

However, the mystery started after the discovery was made as nothing more was known about the skeletons. Where did the skeletons end up? Were they deliberately hidden from the public? Interestingly, the area where the Giant skeletons were found is known for giant-sized skeletons which do not seem to correspond to the characteristics of ordinary people or natives to the area.

In 1891, scientists from the Smithsonian Foundation found a giant skeleton in the excavations of the pyramidal tombs in the Madison area, curiously also in Wisconsin.

All skeletons allegedly disappeared as well.

The Smithsonian states they do not know anything about them, or any kind of oversized skeletons. However, there is evidence in the press for nearly 100 years of huge skeletons findings throughout the American Midwest.

In Minnesota, Ohio, Iowa, Indiana, Kentucky and Illinois the discovery of this type of skeletons is well documented.

“Conspiracy theorists” believe that the American Government is hiding something and has no interest whatsoever to talk about a possible race of giants that inhabited the United States centuries ago.





But the America’s aren’t the only continent where such discoveries have been made.

In other parts of the world, researchers have also found human remains that seem to belong to a race of giants.

Despite all the evidence, it must be mentioned that many similar discoveries were nothing but elaborate hoaxes which regrettably discredit authentic discoveries made around the planet.

Another fascinating example is the 38-centimeter long finger found in ancient Egypt.

The remains of this finger are impressive; it is a huge mummified humanoid finger that has 38 centimeters in length. Researchers from Egypt believe it had to belong to a creature that was over 5 meters height. Only a few people got to take images of this incredible artifact in 1988.

According to a DREAM I had (ok, ok; stop paying attention now) the problem with the skeletons is NOT that they are of giants (and yes, my dream in particular was about a skeleton found in Wisconsin), but because of the AGE of the skeleton ..... According to scriptures - they were the sons of fallen angels and men. A well-known American zoologist, Ivan T. Sanderson, told a peculiar story about a letter he accepted from Alan Makshir, an engineer assigned on the Aleutian Island of Shemya during World War II.

During the construction of a landing field, his working crew demolished a group of hills and apparently, underneath some sedimentary layers, they found human remains. The Alaskan heap was actually a burial ground of enormous human remains that included skulls and log leg bones.

The skull was around 22 inches from base to crown and 11 inches wide. A common adult’s skull measures about 8 inches from back to front, thus, this implies such a large cranium belonged to an immense creature.

The ancient titans had a double row of teeth and unduly flatheads.
Moreover, every skull had an accurate cut hole in its upper part, which is part of the process called trepanning. The tradition of compressing the skull of an infant in order for it to grow in an elongated shape was a usual procedure for the ancient Peruvians, the Mayas, and the Flathead Indians of Montana.

Mr. Sanderson made effort to collect additional evidence when he later received another letter which confirmed his doubts. Both letters suggested that the Smithsonian Institution gathered the mysterious remains but nothing further was explained.

Sanderson is sure this Institution has the evidence in their hands but he is curious why they don’t publish their information. He asked: “Is it that these people cannot face rewriting all the textbooks?”

Explorers’ Mysterious Historical Encounters With Real Giants in the New World

Humans have always been fascinated by what lies out over the horizon of our known world and borders, by what lies over the next hill or over the waves beyond what we see. This fascination has driven us to explore and understand our planet since time unremembered, and countless explorers have bravely pushed past the boundaries of our maps and the limits of our horizon to discover, tame, and conquer. We have many records of these adventures, and often lurking within them are astounding historical tales of strange peoples and creatures, some of which are just as mysterious and perplexing now as they were then, and one of these are the supposed real giants of the New World.

Perhaps the most intriguing and widely known tale of real giants in the age of exploration began with an account concerning none other than the great Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan. Between the years of 1519 and 1522 Magellan embarked on his most famous voyage, a Spanish expedition to search for a good route to the Maluku Islands of the east East Indies, that would eventually result in the first successful circumnavigation of the globe. Magellan was given command of five vessels, and one leg of their voyage took them out across the vast ocean all the way to the faraway land of Patagonia, at the southern end of South America. It was here that the expedition would come across a rather baffling sight indeed.

According to accounts by the expedition’s official chronicler, Antonio Pigafetta, as they approached the shores of Patagonia there was witnessed a person of “enormous stature” dancing and cavorting naked upon the beach while oddly throwing dust on its head. A crew member was apparently then sent over to try and make contact with the mysterious giant, and upon arriving on shore the man began to mimic the giant’s eccentric movements and behavior in an effort to extend friendship. Pigafetta would relate what happened thus:

The captain-general [i.e., Magellan] sent one of our men to the giant so that he might perform the same actions as a sign of peace. Having done that, the man led the giant to an islet where the captain-general was waiting. When the giant was in the captain-general’s and our presence he marveled greatly, and made signs with one finger raised upward, believing that we had come from the sky. He was so tall that we reached only to his waist, and he was well proportioned.

The explorers purportedly gave this massive creature food and drink, and it was noted that the giant was absolutely terrified when it saw a mirror. Magellan and his men were finally able to make contact with the rest of the creature’s tribe, and they were on good terms at first, slowly gaining the trust of the giants over several weeks, even eating and hunting with them. Unfortunately, European explorers that they were, the men just couldn’t resist trying to capture some of them to bring home. Two of giants were supposedly captured but did not survive the long harrowing journey back to Spain, meaning they did not return with any real evidence of giants in Patagonia but their fantastic tales of what they had seen.





The stories really took off, and indeed Patagonia would become synonymous with the image of lumbering giants. Such was the popularity of the tale that the very name of the region itself, Patagonia, comes from Magellan’s name for the creatures, patagones, which might be derived from the Spanish word pata, meaning “foot,” thus making the name something akin to “The Land of the Big Feet,” or it may simply come from the fictional wild man characters the Patagonians, featured in a book of the era called Primaleon, depending on who you ask.

The stories of these mysterious giants living out across the vast ocean in some faraway exotic land really captured the imagination at the time, and this would be further stoked when other reports of the giants of Patagonia began to come in from other explorers in later years. For instance, in 1579, Sir Francis Drake’s ship chaplain, Francis Fletcher, wrote of these giants, which were said to be around 10 feet tall. In the 1590s the explorer Anthonie Knivet also claimed that during his time in Patagonia he had seen some dead bodies of the giants, which were estimated as being around 12 feet tall, and there was another account from the English explorer William Adams, who claimed that his expedition had actually been attacked by uncommonly large natives while rounding Tierra del Fuego.

Such encounters further fueled rumors that Patagonia was indeed a land of giants, and these far-out reports would only continue. In 1615, Dutch circumnavigators Willem Schouten and Jacob Le Maire claimed to have come across a mysterious grave that was filled with the bones and remains of strange beings that would have been around 11 feet tall in height. In 1766 there was the report that Commodore John Byron, who had circumnavigated the world aboard the vessel the Dolphin, had come across a tribe of enormous natives in Patagonia that measured an average of around 9 feet tall and as tall as 12 feet.





Such enigmatic reports coming in from these rugged explorers from Patagonia not only stirred up a lot of wonder, but also quite a bit of debate and skepticism from the scientific community as well. Many academics believed the tales to be hoaxes, over-exaggerations, or a ruse to cover the real intentions behind those making excursions to South America, but the belief that these giants were real nevertheless persisted among the general populace. In later years the romantic legends of the giant Patagonians died down a bit as more realistic information came to light, such as a revised official report from Byron’s travels released in 1773, in which it was written that the natives they had encountered were actually only 6’6”, which was still very tall for the time, but still far from the rumored 9 to 12 feet. Also, in 1628 Sir Francis Drake’s nephew claimed in his book The World Encompassed, that the height of the “giants” his uncle had encountered and spoken of had been highly exaggerated, writing:

Magellan was not altogether deceived in naming these giants, for they generally differ from the common sort of man both in stature, bigness and strength of body, as also in the hideousness of their voices: but they are nothing so monstrous and giant-like as they were represented, there being some English men as tall as the highest we could see, but peradventure the Spaniards did not think that ever any English man would come hither to reprove them, and therefore might presume the more boldly to lie.

It is thought that these explorers may have really been coming across a Patagonian tribe called the Tehuelche, who have some of the tallest average heights in the world, commonly exceeding 6 feet and reaching over 7. They would have certainly towered over most of the European explorers of the day, who would have typically stood at the low 5-foot range, and subsequent exaggerations, rumors, retellings, and observer misidentifications could have seen descriptions of the “giants’” height increased, giving birth to mysterious traveler’s tales laced with rumor and hearsay. However, in the case of Magellan, the chronicler was an astute observer and had an eye for detail, with most of his information quite accurate, so it is difficult to say whether Pigafetta would have made up some yarn.

Patagonia is not the only place to have seen historic accounts of real giants lurking in the wilderness of the New World, and similar creatures were described during the age of the Conquistadors in the jungles of what is now Florida. The Spanish Conquistador and explorer Pánfilo de Nárvaez faced a disastrous failed invasion of Northern Florida after losing most of his men to native attacks and disease, lack of adequate supplies, and being abandoned by the very ships that had brought them there, and in the wake of this he himself would go on to disappear after departing for Cuba on a makeshift raft.





One survivor of the whole perilous ordeal was a junior officer named Alvar Nuñez Cabeza de Vaca, who along with a ragtag group of others decided to make a beeline for safety in Mexico, which they mistakenly believed to be much closer to where they were than it actually was. They built a raft and departed on their ill-conceived flight, and De Vaca would go on to survive the ordeal and make his way all the way to Texas, before finally returning to Spain and eventually writing a bestselling account of his adventures. Buried in this journal is a very strange and rather harrowing account in which this motley group apparently came across a group of mysterious and very aggressive giants while crossing a lake in Florida. De Vaca would claim in his journal:

When we attempted to cross the large lake, we came under heavy attack from many giant Indians concealed behind trees. Some of our men were wounded in this conflict for which the good armor they wore did not avail. The Indians we had so far seen are all archers. They go naked, are large of body, and appear at a distance like giants. They are of admirable proportions, very spare and of great activity and strength. The bows they use are as thick as the arm, of eleven or twelve palms in length, which they discharge at two hundred paces with so great precision that they miss nothing.

Other areas of North America had historical reports of giants in the same era, and Native people’s would often tell of such massive creatures inhabiting the land. In 1519 a whole village of giants was allegedly found somewhere along the Mississippi River by explorer Alonzo Álvarez de Pineda during an expedition to map the Gulf Coast area. Pineda described them as “race of giants, from ten to eleven palms in height,” and said that they were peaceful and had a wealth of gold, yet that the natives were terrified of them. Years later in 1539 there was also the account of Hernando De Soto, who came face to face with numerous giants during his adventures through the southeast portion of what is now the United States. De Soto had set out from Tampa Bay, Florida, with a contingent of hundreds of men, and during their trek they allegedly frequently came across tribes of natives ruled by giants. One of these was a Chief Tuscaloosa, who was encountered in western Alabama and said to be a hulking, giant of a man who towered over all others.





There are also the reports from the Spanish conquistador and explorer Hernando de Alarcón, who was trying to find a river that could be used to move supplies to Spanish troops along the coasts of California and Mexico. Alarcón would eventually make his way up the Colorado River all the way to up to the Grand Canyon, and during this journey he and his men purportedly came across a tribe of around 200 giant warriors standing up to 10 feet tall. The giants were supposedly very aggressive, but Alarcón appeased them with gifts and other signs of peace. The conquistador Francisco Coronado also told of having come across whole tribes of giants during his quest throughout the southwest in search of the legendary El Dorado.

In some cases, there was physical evidence of these giants found, as was supposedly the case with the conquistador Bernal Díaz del Castillo, who served under Hernán Cortés during the Spanish conquest of Mexico. Within the pages of his detailed record of the conquest and subsequent collapse of the Aztec Empire, The True History of the Conquest of New Spain, there is an odd account of a race of giants that was claimed by the Tlaxcatec Indians to have once inhabited the area. The chief of the tribe then provided the remains of these mysterious giants as evidence, of which Castillo would write of the tales and the remains:

They said their ancestors had told them that very tall men and women with huge bones had once dwelt among them. But because they were a very bad people with wicked customs they had fought against them and killed them, and those of them who remained had died off. And to show us how big these giants had been they brought us the leg-bone of one, which was very thick and the height of an ordinary-sized man, and that was a leg-bone from the hip to the knee. I measured myself against it, and it was as tall as I am, though I am of a reasonable height. They brought other pieces of bone of the same kind, but they were all rotten and eaten away by the soil. We were all astonished by the sight of these bones and felt certain there must have been giants in that land.

It is unclear what happened to these remains, and it remains just another weird, unverified account among many. Here we have looked at some of the myriad reports of real giants being encountered throughout North and South America in the age of exploration, and such accounts have faded into history to be mostly forgotten and bereft of any real evidence or proof. One is left to wonder if there is any truth to these historical accounts of these massive behemoths, or if they are just tall tales spun by wary explorers or the product of years of evolution and exaggeration. It is difficult to ascertain just how much of these tales are real or fabricated, and we are largely left to speculate and wonder about what these explorers saw out there in these uncharted areas of the planet, the only evidence we have these reports buried in history. Whether they were ever real or not, the idea that giants once roamed the world is a tantalizing one that will likely fire the imagination for a long time to come.

Talk of giants once roaming Earth is bound to foment passionate discussion between those who believe it and those who think it’s a fairytale. The debate starts with the Bible stating in Genesis 6:4: “There were giants in the earth in those days; and also afterwards, when the sons of God came into the daughters of men, and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.”

Those “giants” were Nephilim — fallen angels — their existence supported by many other Bible passages. Some say Goliath was one of their descendants.

The ancient Jewish historian Josephus wrote that when the Israelites moved their camp to Hebron, they encountered “the race of giants, who had bodies so large, and countenances so entirely different from other men, that they were surprising to the sight, and terrible to the hearing.”

Throughout recorded history, there have been legends about giants among cultures worldwide, including Japan, Indonesia, Australian Aborigines, India, Islam, Greece, Rome, Britain, Norse and other European countries, as well as the U.S. — especially among Native Americans.

Fast-forward to modern times:

Archeological evidence of giants however is still a subject of spirited debate among scientists, theologians and others.

Countless newspaper articles in the 1800s and early 1900s tell of human skeletons being found throughout the world — some even in Idaho. Tallest reported was 36 feet.

And curiously among many of those reports is the recurring claim that the giant skeletons were sent to the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C., and mysteriously disappeared.

Why isn’t the public demanding that the Smithsonian put those artifacts on display? And what about all those newspaper reports?

National Geographic News debunks that there ever were giants the sizes reported and shifts the discussion to gigantism, which they correctly say “is extremely rare, today affecting about three people in a million worldwide. The condition begins in childhood, when a malfunctioning pituitary gland causes abnormal growth.”

Typical of early reports was an 1871 story in the Toronto Daily Telegraph that said, “Rev. Nathaniel Wardell, Messers Orin Wardell (of Toronto), and Daniel Fredenburg were digging on the farm of the latter gentleman, which is on the banks of the Grand River, in the township of Cayuga.

“When they got to five or six feet below the surface, a strange sight met them. Piled in layers, one upon top of the other, were some two hundred skeletons of human beings nearly perfect…men of gigantic stature, some of them measuring nine feet, very few of them being less than seven feet.”

In Atlanta, Ga., “The Banner” on May 6, 1884, told of Smithsonian scientists finding giant skeletons in an Indian burial mound: “The stones were removed, when in a kind of vault beneath them, the skeleton of a giant, who measured seven feet two inches, was found.”

The article further noted, “All the relics were carefully packed and sent to the Smithsonian Institution, and are said to be the most interesting collection ever found in America.”

A story with a Boise dateline appeared in the Newport Miner on March 17, 1910, headlined “Prehistoric Bones Found.” The article said, “Unmoved, untouched and unseen for hundreds of years and hidden in the recesses of a deep cave 25 miles north of Shoshone, Lincoln County in Southern Idaho is the skeletons (sic) of a giant, ten feet tall evidently of prehistoric origin.

“It was recently discovered by a hunting party from this city. Corroborated proof the members are now exhibiting the rusty worn flint lock barrel of what appears to be an ancient gun weighing between 25 (and) 30 pounds resembling a rifle….beside the skeleton.

“These bones will be taken out of the cave at the earliest possible date and carefully forwarded to the Smithsonian Institute.”

The New York Times on March 17, 1924, published a story from Lewiston, “A huge skeleton, believed to be that of a prehistoric human being has been discovered in Salmon River Country by two members of the State Highway Dept., who brought their find to the City.

“Belief that the person was of an herbivorous race was expressed owing to the peculiar formation of the jaws and teeth. Both the upper and lower jaws each had only ten teeth, all of which were intact.” Physicians said the skeleton was a woman more than 8 feet tall, and the bones also supposedly sent to the Smithsonian for study.

Though there are plenty of newspaper reports of finding giant human skeletons, Time Magazine wrote in 1994 that “Yet despite more than a century of digging, the fossil record remains maddeningly sparse. With so few clues, even a single bone that doesn’t fit into the picture can upset everything. Virtually every major discovery has put deep cracks in the conventional wisdom and forced scientists to concoct new theories, amid furious debate.”

A common claim among many of the stories is that the artifacts were shipped off to the Smithsonian, sometimes accused of destroying them. Smithsonian denies all of this, and scholars seem to be divided on the issue.

Why would the Smithsonian destroy such spectacular artifacts — if they did in fact receive them? And why aren’t they on display? Where are they? Why doesn’t the Smithsonian want to talk about it?

Could the Smithsonian have re-classified donated bones as animal fossils?

The answers to those questions pits Darwinian evolutionist against creationists, and provides a hot topic for conspiracy theorists, while movie-goers will remember the final scene of “Raiders of the Lost Ark” (1981), when the Ark of the Covenant disappears into a mammoth Smithsonian storage facility — never to be seen again.

One Nevada report said, “The Smithsonian Institute are very keen to hide many discoveries, as it would mean all the books would have to be rewritten and they are very much aware of this — it would also mean academia had it wrong…and they refuse to simply acknowledge that the nature of archaeology is such that as we make new discoveries we need to update with reference to new findings.”

Researcher, author and lecturer L.A. Marzulli — whose writings about giants are outside of mainstream academic thinking and no doubt has his detractors — visited UCLA to examine ancient skeletal remains. “I wasn’t looking for Native Americans. I was looking for an unknown race of beings and perhaps, according to my theory the remains of the Nephilim, who I believed migrated here from the Levant thousands of years ago to escape being destroyed by the armies of Joshua and Israel.”

National Geographic has also been defending itself over the giants for a long time, in 2007 declaring:

“The National Geographic Society has not discovered ancient giant humans, despite rampant reports and pictures…A digitally altered photograph created in 2002 shows a reclining giant surrounded by a wooden platform — with a shovel-wielding archaeologist thrown in for scale. By 2004, the ‘discovery’ was being blogged and emailed all over the world — ‘Giant Skeleton Unearthed!’—and it’s been enjoying a revival.”

Dr. Greg Little, another noted researcher and author on the subject chides the Smithsonian’s stance on the issue of giants, writing in 2014 in “AP Magazine,”
“I don’t see the Smithsonian as being in a conspiracy in the true definition of the word. I see it as a sort of stupidity in the sense that they have ignored an aspect of their own findings that the public sees as intriguing.

“Instead of engaging the public, they alienate it. I also see that American archaeology resents all outsiders, resists all beliefs that go against their beliefs, and they utilize skeptics as a sort of police force to silence critics and others. From a psychological standpoint, they are doing battle with their own shadow. It is a battle that can’t be won.”

The claim of giants once roaming the Earth cannot be easily rejected — in addition to bones, and artifacts such as tools so large that only a powerful giant man could use them, there are too many oral traditions around the world that talk about them.

And the Bible says the giants were here.

Skeptics and believers will no doubt continue to debate the Nephilim story for a very long time — and that’s a good thing.
