Nope. You’re thinking of Elaine Douglass who was busy leading the Committee to Reform Mufon at the time. She also passed away some years ago.

www.dailygrail.com/2021/01/trickle-down-ufonomics-vs-grassroots-reporting-vale-angelia-joiner-1961-2001/Trickle-down UFOnomics VS Grassroots Reporting: Vale Angelia Joiner (1961-2001)BY RED PILL JUNKIE / www.dailygrail.com/author/red-pill-junkie/SATURDAY, JANUARY 16TH On January 8th, my friend and colleague Susan Demeter announced on her Facebook page the passing of Angelia Joiner, which had taken place a day prior –and one day after the death of her husband Randall– due to the COVID-19 pandemic that has currently taken the lives of 386,000 Americans, totaling almost 2 million people around the world. But there is a reason why Angelia doesn’t deserve to be just another tragic statistic in the wake of the virus. Exactly 13 years prior to the news of her passing began to circulate in social media, she found herself at the center of a social whirlwind nobody could have predicted –least of all, herself. In 2008, she was a reporter working for the Empire-Tribune, the local newspaper in Stephenville, Texas; a small town content with labeling themselves as the “Cowboy Capital of the World.” But the tranquility of this community was suddenly disturbed when several residents reported multiple sightings of strange lights in their skies –lights, some of them claimed, that were even chased down by fighter jets. Up until that point, Angelia had never really cared too much about the UFO subject; but the fact that her own neighbors –people she had known all her life and knew to be credible, upstanding citizens– were claiming to have seen something they could not easily explain, forced her to leave her natural skepticism aside and pay attention. And then she did something that would forever change the course of her life: she decided to break the story. Perhaps it was because the news cycle was going through a downtime due to the time of the year. Perhaps it was because the Chicago O’Hare UFO sighting of 2006 was still fresh in the collective memory of the American public. For whatever reason, Angelia’s article was picked up by the mainstream news agencies and exploded into an international sensation. Add to it the fact that initially the Air Force had claimed they didn’t have any airplanes in the area, but later they retracted and stated they had actually had a group of F-16s jets performing ‘military drills’ at the time of the sightings. Not only that, but the FAA confirmed that unidentified targets flew on a trajectory that would have led them straight into the private ranch of President George W. Bush (who was not present in the premises at the time), a no-flight restricted air zone. Angelia’s journalistic instincts recognized a good thing when it came up, so she chose to keep up with the story and dig up more corroborating testimonies. At the same time, she kept answering the calls of international news outlets hungry for more updates, and she even appeared in Larry King Live and other TV shows. During one of those TV appearances, a Channel 11 News reporter asked her behind the scenes, “How did you have the guts to write this story? I wouldn’t have touched a UFO story with a ten-foot pole!” This anecdote, which was shared during the Binnall of America interview with Angelia Joiner in February of 2010, perfectly illustrates the stigma still present in the UFO topic not too long ago. Such things were perceived as fodder for supermarket tabloids, and absolute career-killers among ‘serious’ journalists. Even with all the priceless free press The Empire-Tribune was receiving, Angelia’s employers were quite uncomfortable with it. She was ordered by her editor to drop the UFO stuff and go back to covering regular stories (she claimed the newspaper’s publisher, who had final word, was still supportive of her work); but since Angelia still felt a personal responsibility to keep answering the calls of both distraught witnesses and fellow reporters asking for an update (the editor told her to just ignore them) she decided to conduct these calls during her lunchtime and after business hours. She ended up getting fired anyway, in what it seemed to be more a matter of professional jealousy mixed with pressure from ‘town elders’ –who had no interest in watching the “Cowboy Capital of the World” turn into the Texan Roswell– than one of those sinister ‘cover-up conspiracies’ oft invoked in UFOlogical circles. After getting fired, Angelia and her family moved from Stephenville to Dublin, Texas, where she became a free-lance reporter without receiving the benefits of a fully staffed writer. To compensate, she entered the UFO lecture circuit for a while, and started her own podcast –The Joiner Report– which lasted a few years until it slowly faded away into obscurity (one can only find a handful of episodes scattered across the Internet); her personal website angeliajoiner.com disappeared in November of 2012, according to the Internet’s Wayback Machine. Although she appeared in James Fox’s documentary “I Know What I Saw” and a couple of TV series, it’s fair to say hers is not a ‘household name’ in contemporary UFO circles, and even the Stephenville sightings themselves have been largely forgotten. Angelia Joiner and Timothy Good, at the Ozark UFO Conference Now let us look at the contrasting reaction received by the December 2017 New York Times article which uncovered the existence of the secret Pentagon UFO program. If the Stephenville case and Angelia Joiner’s articles are an example of ‘grassroots reporting’ of UFO events which influences public perception from the bottom-up, then the article written by Helene Cooper, Leslie Kean and Ralph Blumenthal seems to be the complete opposite: Like most of the ‘UFO Disclosure’ discourse, it intended to create an influence from the top-down, in a manner not unlike the ‘trickle-down’ economic theories that were put in vogue in the 1980s thanks to the Ronald Reagan administration. And it doesn’t take a PhD in Economics to realize that the grotesque economic inequality we are now experiencing in the XXIst century was largely the result of these elitist ideas, which posit that the masses should be content with whatever scraps, if any, should fall from the feast table of the rich and powerful. Trickle-down plans do not work in Economy. Why would they work in UFOlogy? Why should we be content with just scraps of information from the cherry-picked cases declassified by the government? When AATIP was formed, the Stephenville sightings were still relatively recent –they were even more recent than the USS Nimitz sightings, in fact– AND these events had presumably involved Air Force pilots. Did Luis Elizondo ever investigate them during his AATIP tenure and try to contact any pilots willing to speak up? And if not, why? Will Stephenville be mentioned in that highly anticipated Pentagon UFO report which is supposed to be released in the next six months? Will at least be covered in season 3 of Unidentified –if there even is a third season? In her 2010 interview with Tim Binnall, Angelia claimed she was not bitter by the turn of events resulting from her “trial by fire,” and were she given the chance she would still do it all over again, because she was grateful for the experiences and the people she had met. Among those experiences she obtained after being unexpectedly catapulted into the UFO hurricane, she and her husband even claimed to have had a close encounter experience in the forests of Oregon, in the Fall of 2008 –something best left for another time… “it was a life changing event. There’s not one country that I couldn’t go to that somebody wouldn’t welcome me with open arms.” ~Angelia Joiner on the Kate Valentine UFO ShowSome folks say the public openness toward the UFO topic is unprecedented, and although most would be eager to credit it to Tom DeLonge and his (former) associates. But I for one would first give credit to all the unsung heroes of UFOlogy: people like Angelia Joiner, who did not rely on secret documents handed down by anonymous sources –in fact, she hated the proliferation of anonymity tolerated in the field– and sought answers the old fashioned way –by going out there and asking questions. If UFO Disclosure ever comes flooding down into global consciousness, it will not be due to celebrities cheerleading to those in power who asks us to toe the line with their agenda. It will be due to the myriad of people who preceded them, and quietly chiseled down at the wall of official denial; until –hopefully– it eventually crumbles down by the weight of its own deception. Rest in peace, Angelia. You will be remembered. www.dailygrail.com/2021/01/trickle-down-ufonomics-vs-grassroots-reporting-vale-angelia-joiner-1961-2001/

He was a pioneer in exposing Projects Moon Dust & Blue Fly - the covert retrieval of crashed UFOs taken to Wright Patterson AFB. It was my honor to interview Clifford in 2005. A true American hero. UFO Crash Retrievals & Extraterrestrial Communications – Clifford Stone Interviews WRITTEN BY DR MICHAEL SALLA ON AUGUST 11, 2016. POSTED IN EXOPOLITICS RESEARCH, INTEVIEWS On August 9, 2016, Corey Goode and David Wilcock discussed new video testimony of Clifford Stone regarding his 22 year military career in a highly classified program involving UFO crash recoveries and extraterrestrial communications. The Cosmic Disclosure episode featured a recently recorded video interview with Stone that discussed how he was recruited into the covert program run by the US Air Force, while serving with the US Army (transcript here). A companion biographical video was simultaneously released with details about his background. The Stone interviews provide important corroborating information about Corey Goode’s claims of serving as an intuitive empath for multiple Secret Space programs involving extraterrestrial communications from 1987 to 2007. Another whistleblower claiming to have worked in a classified military program as an intuitive communicator with extraterrestrial civilizations is Dan Sherman, who worked in the USAF and National Security Agency as an electronics communications expert for 12 years. I compared the background and covert training of Stone and Sherman in a 2007 research paper. Both Stone and Sherman’s background and covert training has important similarities with Goode’s own experiences. What follows is an updated repost of a 2005 article discussing my interview with Stone which provides additional information about his covert program, along with links to a transcript of the two part interview which was published in the inaugural 2006 edition of the Exopolitics Journal. Stone described how he would travel to UFO crash retrieval sites in order to telepathically communicate with any extraterrestrial survivors and administer First Aid according to a medical guidebook for 57 extraterrestrial races. This dovetails with Goode’s claims that between 40-60 extraterrestrial races are involved in 22 long-term genetic experiments on Earth. More correlations between Goode and Stone’s testimony is discussed in the August 9 Cosmic Disclosure episode and future interviews featuring Clifford Stone. Michael E. Well known UFO researcher Dr. R. Leo Sprinkle died this past week. He was a Professor of Psychology at the University of Wyoming. MUFON joins the UFOlogy Community in mourning his passing. The man was not only brilliant but was a friend to many many experiencers throughout the years.
Dr. Sprinkle was very close to MUFON’s Colorado State Director Katie Griboski who wrote an entire book about the correspondences Dr. Sprinkle received over decades from the people he helped.
For those of you unfamiliar with him, Katie has allowed us to post this short biography from her book Letters of Love and Light.
Psychologist, hypnotherapist, and UFO contactee researcher R. Leo Sprinkle was born in 1930 in Rocky Ford, Colorado. As a young man he joined the United States Army, serving two years as a corporal in 194th Field Artillery Battalion in Wertheim, Germany.
He then returned to the United States, and began his studies at the University of Colorado, where he earned his bachelor’s degree, then a Master’s of Personnel Service in Counseling. He received his Ph.D. in Counseling and Guidance at the University of Missouri in 1961.
In 1964, after serving as Director of the Counseling Center at the University of North Dakota, he became Associate Professor of Guidance Education at the University of Wyoming. Leo served as Counselor and Associate Professor of Psychology there from 1967 till his retirement in 1989.
Leo’s many published writings have included his book Soul Samples (1999, Granite Publishing) and his approximately 50 articles published in academic and UFO journals. These have focused mainly on UFO research, extrasensory perception, hypnosis, reincarnation, spiritual growth, and counseling theory and practice. Not long into his career, Leo became increasingly known in UFO circles as a researcher of contactee experiences, offering an open mind and a sympathetic ear for those needing to speak of their experiences. A nonbeliever for many years, Leo migrated, as he puts it, from “scoffer” to “skeptic” after experiencing a UFO sighting himself in 1949. A second sighting with his wife in 1956 then moved him from “skeptic” to “unwilling believer.” By the mid 1960s, Leo was involved in trailblazing research and investigation of UFO abductions. As psychology professor and therapist, over the decades he has performed more than 500 hypnotic regressions of possible contactees and abductees. Viewed as an authority in the UFO field, he has spoken on this topic on national television and at international conferences. Among the many cases Leo has investigated have been some of the most extraordinary and well-known UFO incidents to have occurred since 1930. In 1964, using a set of standard tests, Leo’s breakthrough research included the first psychological study of hundreds of individuals who had reported sighting or experiencing a UFO. He concluded from this that most UFO witnesses operate within the normal psychological range…….. “My approach is to minimize the tendency to ‘explain’ (or explain away) the reality of psychic experiences,” Leo has said, “and to emphasize the willingness to explore the personal meaning of these human experiences of spiritual emergence.” In 1980, Leo founded the University of Wyoming’s annual summer Rocky Mountain Conference on UFO Investigation as a meeting place for hundreds of UFO contactees, abductees, and other experiencers seeking affirmation and support. In 1988, Leo published the PACTS model of abductee/contactee experience. Based on 24 years of study, it marked out five stages of experience. Briefly, these were: Preparation (family and cultural experiences of ESP and/or spiritual contacts, including childhood visitations by Spiritual Beings (SBs), Abduction (UFO sightings and/or abduction experiences inducted or initiated, involuntarily, by SBs), Contact (adult visitations inducted or initiated voluntarily by SBs), Training (instruction for a mission or task), and Service (cooperation with SBs—channeling verbal or written information from them, providing healing, instruction, or assistance to others). There is also the accomplishment which this book celebrates: Leo’s active correspondence over 40 years, in supportive yet academically responsible ways, with UFO and ET experiencers all over the world.
Over the years, as a result of his research, Leo has concluded …. that UFO activity is a part of an incoming wave of human consciousness—a shift into viewing ourselves not only as “planetary persons,” but as “cosmic citizens.” Thank you, Dr. Sprinkle. You will be greatly missed!

The Passing of Betty Andreasson
By Robert Spearing, Director of Investigations International
Betty Andreasson, the devout Christian woman, who endured some of the most famous abduction encounters ever recorded, died on March 18,2022. No other encounter has ever rivaled the Betty and Barney Hill Abduction like hers.
Betty’s story was brought to the forefront of the American media at the time by Raymond Fowler, one of MUFON’s greatest investigators, when he published a series of books on her encounters. His most famous tome was entitled “The Andreasson Affair” which sold millions of copies! He followed up with “The Andreasson Affair, Phase II” and finally “The Andreasson Legacy.” Fowler literally tracked Betty for decades trying to get the most comprehensive story possible.
In 1967, Betty and her family saw a bright pink light outside their window one evening. In all, 7 family members were involved. They saw small humanoids outside but in the morning remembered nothing further.
However, through hypnosis, Betty remembered astounding details including small Greys in Blue Uniforms with distinct insigne who led her and her family into a space craft for experimentation. Tis encounter was only the beginning.
One thing that marked Miss Andreassons’s encounters was that she was very religiously oriented and it was quite perplexing to her what was happening. It challenged her faith! Many theories were posited including demon interference. Nonetheless, Fowler relentlessly investigated the purported abductions to the extent he even created a team of investigators because he believed her story so much. The problem today with the abduction phenomenon is that while we have literally hundreds of thousands of cases world wide over decades, no substantive evidence exists to back up this plethora of reports.
However, it hard to imagine we are dealing with a mass psychosis event given the distance in time and geography of these alleged encounters as well as the sheer number of similar reports that relate to each other. Any rational scientist would have to admit that this is not the ravings of a lunatic few but an ongoing and pervasive phenomenon that is worldwide over decades. How would a scientist coalesce and codify so much information without admitting “something” is in the details!
If just one piece of physical evidence could be obtained, the mysterious phenomenon of abduction would overnight go from the realm of conjecture to science. We can only hope that one day we can verify Betty Andreasson’s story!

Posted on Facebook by MUFON. Very sad news came from Brazil this morning🖤 Rest In Peace, AJ!
Editor of Revista UFO magazine, Ademar José Gevaerd (19/03/1962 - 09/12/2022) was founder and president of the Brazilian Center for Research on Flying Saucers (CBPDV), and became interested in ufological research as a teenager. He abandoned his profession as a chemistry teacher in the mid-1980s to dedicate himself exclusively to Ufology, and in 1985 he published his first magazine, Ufologia Nacional e Internacional. Still in 1985, he launched the Revista UFO magazine, a publication that brought together a good part of the cream of Brazilian ufology researchers, which has been published for over 30 years. He published several UFO books by different authors, Brazilians and foreigners, about various topics within ufology. It has also organized several UFO events over the years, including the World UFO Forum.
Gevaerd was for many years the National Director of MUFON in Brazil, being its biggest encourager in the country.
He was also, together with Marco Antonio Petit, who brought Captain Uyrangê Hollanda and the events of Operation Prato to the public and was one of the greatest researchers of crop circles in Brazil and in the world.
Gevaerd was one of the greatest ufologists of all time. Thanks to him, Brazilian ufology gained enormous prominence all over the world.

Lisa Marie, 54, was at the show, along with her mother Priscilla Presley, to cheer on Austin Butler, who won best actor in a drama that evening for his portrayal of Elvis in the Baz Luhrmann film of the same name. Butler and Lisa Marie appeared excited to see each other; she held on to Butler's arm while he walked slowly and was attentive to her. When congratulated by PEOPLE on Butler's win and asked how she was feeling, Lisa Marie smiled and said: "I'm so happy." Butler's acceptance speech for his award contained callouts to the Presley family "for opening your hearts, your memories, your home to me." On Thursday, Lisa Marie was rushed to the hospital, and died later that night. Priscilla said in a statement to PEOPLE: "It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us." Priscilla continued: "She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment." Never miss a story — sign up for PEOPLE's free weekly newsletter to get the biggest news of the week delivered to your inbox every Friday. At a party celebrating the Elvis film the weekend before the Golden Globes (on Sunday, Jan. 8, Elvis' birthday), Lisa Marie addressed the attendees and said her dad would be proud of the movie. "I'm so overwhelmed by this film and the effect that it's had and what Baz has done, Austin's done. I'm so proud, and I know that my father would also be very proud. ... I'm overwhelmed with gratitude, so thank you," she said at the gathering. Following her death, celebrities paid tribute to Lisa Marie, with John Travolta writing, "Lisa baby girl, I'm so sorry. I'll miss you but I know I'll see you again. My love and heart goes out to Riley, Priscilla, Harper and Finley." Lisa Marie was also mother to son Benjamin Keough, who died by suicide in 2020 at age 27. www.aol.com/entertainment/lisa-marie-presley-said-she-042138407.html

www.gofundme.com/f/lee-speigel?utm_campaign=p_cp+share-sheet&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitterR.I.P Lee SpeigelBon Voyage, Lee Speigel: Let's Send Lee To Space!Buck Wolf is organizing this fundraiser. 8-25-2023 Our friend, fellow journalist, and famed UFO researcher Lee Speigel passed away on Aug 14 — and those close to him are planning a final salute to this great man. We are sending his cremated ashes into space. “Star Trek” creator Gene Roddenberry, noted astronomy Clyde Tombaugh and legendary Harvard professor Timothy Leary are among several notables who have been memorialized with a space burial. We plan to do the same for Lee, and we’re asking for your help. Lee blazed a singular path in life. He came to New York City from New Hampshire in the early 1970s with a guitar in hand, aiming to be a folk singer, eventually playing on some of the same Greenwich Village stages that Harry Belafonte and Bob Dylan had a few years earlier. In his early years in New York, Lee’s interest in UFOs intensified. While the public basked in science fiction and pop culture camp, Lee focused on recording interviews with scientists, military officers and other credible witnesses who maintained that they had witnessed an unexplained phenomena. This culminated in his 1976 audio documentary album, “UFOs: The Credibility Factor,” a landmark work in UFOlogy. Two years later, Lee hosted and produced the first — and, to date, only — presentation on UFOs at the United Nations, attended by the UN Secretary-General and other world dignitaries. He would soon host “The Edge of Reality” show on NBC Radio in New York, sharing a studio for a time with the legendary Howard Stern, who had a hilarious impression of our old friend, as many of us know all too well. “The Edge of Reality” ran for eight years, with roughly 1,500 episodes on local and national radio. Lee later served as a science consultant for NBC News Radio in New York, and a copy editor for ABCNews.com. In his later years, he covered unexplained phenomena for AOL News and The Huffington Post. In 2012, he was named Researcher of the Year at the International UFO Congress. As a capstone to his career, Lee revived “Edge of Reality” on the UN-X Digital Broadcast Network, pushing forward his amazing research and conversations. Lee was also deeply involved in the writing and production of “The Phenomenon,” a James Fox documentary that featured original interviews of former White House chief of staff John Podesta and former U.S. Senate majority leader Harry Reid, who admitted that a lot of evidence “hasn’t seen the light of day.” Lee was a great reporter. While other journalists would sneer at those who claimed they saw UFOs, Lee was earnest and respectful. It is amazing that his life ends just as the federal government and general public has begun to take these claims seriously and reconsider evidence that had earlier been ignored or suppressed. Lee was a stargazer and a dreamer. He was also a kind spirt who was loved by so many. We intend to launch his remains into orbit with the help of Beyond Burials. We expect the launch itself to cost roughly $3,000. We hope to raise additional funds to preserve Lee’s massive archive of interviews and case files — more than six decades of material. With your help, Lee’s life work will find a new home at The National UFO Historical Records Center in New Mexico. This GoFundMe will be administered by Lee’s wife, Lorraine Simone, and Buck Wolf, Lee’s manager at HuffPost and ABC News colleague. We appreciate your donation. We know this project would bring Lee joy. And we look forward to celebrating his life at the upcoming memorial service and various tribute shows and news reports now in the works. Details to come soon. www.gofundme.com/f/lee-speigel?utm_campaign=p_cp+share-sheet&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter
