www.engineeringnews.co.za/article/when-the-aliens-invade-us--2011-11-11 When the aliens invade us . . . [/color] Mackenzie-Hoy is a consulting acoustics and electrical engineer – machoy@iafrica.com By: Terry Mackenzie-hoy 11th November 2011 Og and Yog live on an island with their tribe. Their main means of transport is a dugout canoe. They can sail this canoe at a peak speed of about 6 knots, which is about 12 km/h. If they set out to circle the world, they would take about three-and-a-half years. They are not planning to circle the world since they have no idea that it is round. Their total experience of the world comes from being blown off course some years back and finding another island, which was uninhabited. At night, around the camp fire, they speculate about whether there are any civilisations other than theirs. The older people of the tribe say a very large boat, made of wood and many times bigger than their dugout canoes, once brought some people from far away who looked sort of human, although they had odd clothing and hairy faces. But nobody really believes the tales of the old people. To have a boat many times bigger than a dugout canoe would require a huge tree to be dug out, and this is clearly ridiculous. From time to time, Og and Yog think about sailing over the horizon to see what is there, but . . . well, for all they know, it may be the edge of the world. Moving on – in 1971, my friend and I took an oscilloscope and a handful of capacitors, diodes and transistors and connected a 1.5 V battery to the X, Y and Z inputs of the oscilloscope. We got the oscilloscope screen to display the letter A and, by twiddling a potentiometer, we could make the letter traverse the screen. All this took a week of fiddling, so we did not proceed to making whole sentences like “Welcome to Alabama – I hope you enjoy you stay.” But, tentatively, we plotted the very first steps of screen display of text which, today, is as common as R99 cellphones. The technological step is huge, but not really much more than Og and Yog finally moving into the age of engine-powered shipping. Is it possible then to apply the same scale to potentially travelling to other worlds or aliens arriv- ing here? Not really, I think. It would have been obvious to Og and Yog that, whoever or whatever would live in the same sort of world as they did – cohabiting with the earth’s gravity, air, seawater, freshwater, the sun and the stars. In the alien case, other worlds would be entities within themselves – possibly coexisting with very high or low temperatures, gases other than air, liquids other than water and different gravitational conditions. It is this latter which is most important – if other worlds have different gravities (as indeed they must), then it follows that the worlds with higher gravity would have the smaller life forms or forms which are more reptilian than ourselves. They would have had to have much better developed energy conversion systems since they would require more energy to move around their planet. I think that intelligences that call home a very hot or very otherly planet would not be that interested in visiting us. They might stop in on Venus or Saturn's moons. We are more likely to have folks dropping by that have similar needs as us - oxygen, water, metals, radioactive fuel sources maybe...
Well...that's my theory of the moment.

The odd skin color reported in CE3's and abductions like grey or pale white may point to a different habitat then our own planet. Our skin tone has a lot to do with exposure to UV radiation over a period of time. So the alien home world would have a different atmosphere and lighting. CE3 reports where the occupants are observed wearing a suit, helmet and visor could be not only provide protection from their craft but also the Earth's atmosphere. This is one of the indicators you are dealing with ET humanoids.

For sure, differences in the home planet's sun would make for differ skin pigmentation. Look at the variation on this planet with the same sun for all (but different latitudes).

Going along with that same line of reasoning, I have often suspected that the Grays must come from a planet that is very dark, or further away from their sun than ours is. The pale skin coloration with little pigmentation plus the large eyes would seem to indicate a species that has adapted to living in conditions with not as much light as our own. Maybe they live underground like Steve (or Han) suggested in his hypnosis thread. Perhaps that might be a good question to ask in the next session. Of course, if they are artificial constructs like Jo and several other people suggests than perhaps they don't need skin pigmentation and the big eyes could just be to give them a wider field of vision. Who knows?

But the arctic dwellers who evolved in Western Europe have much paler skin than the arctic dwellers in Alaska, Canada and Eastern Europe too. There are a lot of factors involved in skin tone on this planet... not just sunlight. For some reason, the Western Europeans mutated more and I don't think anybody is really sure why... one of my former university professors told me this. All of the people in the entire world have black hair and brown eyes... EXCEPT Germanic people. Of all the peoples in the entire world... Asians, Africans, Native Americans, Romance peoples (French, Italians etc.) and Slavic peoples (Russians etc.) the Germanic peoples are the ONLY ones who have blue or green eyes and blonde, red or brown hair. The only ones in the whole world! If you see a blue-eyed Frenchman... he is not 100% French... it's really interesting I think. I wonder what caused them to mutate so much? Radiation?

I read once that eventually the color of all humans would be a light brown.

Mutations occur faster when small groups of the population are isolated from the larger group. It's possible that the Germans and Scandinavians were a little more isolated from the rest of the peeps, possibly because of the mountains in the Alps.
This same small area of western Europe also produced the Neanderthals which were different from the Homo erectus people that were scattered all over the rest of Europe, Africa, Australia and Asia.

If they ever did invade, how would they adapt if they wanted to live here? Wear a suit and helmet all the time? We probably have a lot more here on earth they would have to adapt to besides our sun.
First we don't know. People who have witness them on earth usually witness them without wearing clothing.. Most witness them at night when there is no sunlight.. Are they immune to us and all our diseases? I put a thread on mufon once about this.. Why invade at all if they had to adapt to so many things. Just take over to rule us earthlings?

If they can travel here, they can probably then easily travel just about anywhere. Travel with comparative ease offers unimaginable freedom of choice for an alien species establishing any new home. I think we are special, but are we really all that unique where every alien species covets our particular world? Probably not. I think perhaps due to Hollywood influence and perhaps our own Earth minded self-centeredness, our species may lack the insights found in those extensively more well traveled. Contrary to some cultural and religious dogmas, not only are we not the only life in the Universe, we may not even be all that special either. If some off world species really had to have our Earth, that would imply to me they would have very limited energies and resources (either on a planetary of interstellar planetary scale) to begin with and might be desperately running out of time. In H.G. Wells novel, 'The War of the Worlds' - the motive for invasion by the Martians was their planet (Mars) was dying. So they are going to spread their failed species elsewhere too? I don't think our little planet alone would satisfy the scope of their needs. If they had the boundless energy and resources necessary to travel light years to our little blue place, that same boundless energy could be directed to eliminating any problem requiring the need to invade another planet in the first place. If they had such comparative unlimited abilities and powers at their disposal, I would think they would be more worried about someone else invading them! See the Kardashev scale. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kardashev_scaleThe Kardashev scale is a method of measuring an advanced space civilization's level of technological advancement. Earth presently does not even rank on this scale - we are a minus Type 1. The scale has three designated categories called Type I, II, and III. These are based on the amount of usable energy a civilization has at its disposal, and the degree of space colonization. In general terms, a Type I civilization has achieved mastery of the resources of its home planet, Type II of its solar system, and Type III of its galaxy! In perspective, what is our own little gain of sand among all the sand on all the beaches in the world? To have the abilities (and unimaginable freedom) to travel so extensively, our planet being already occupied might be just as easily passed over as it maybe considered for 'invasion' or 'space colonization' (nicer word). Any player at such a level of civilization development is likely playing a vastly bigger game with vastly higher stakes than just wanting to invade our lovely insignificant little blue place. Did it ever occur too maybe we have already been invaded, and perhaps we are the result? Steve

"Did it ever occur too maybe we have already been invaded, and perhaps we are the result?" -Steve above.
It has occurred to many theorists including Lawrence Gardner and Zacharia Sitchin. I would suggest that for a future question of Han - have we humans evolved "naturally" or has there been ET genetic manipulation to create workers for various projects that ETs were doing here?

Actually I think Han may have addressed that one once..maybe. Also, according to the Bible, man was chugging along taking up space when noticed by the angels..and they found all those cave people comely and shared their genes with them. Ever seen a caveman?? ewwww. Anyway..adapting that from the bible-speak..that could be genetic tinkering from some superior race. I tend to think of the bible as a rough draft of early history..giving a lot of leeway for language shifts and interpretations. If they really spoke that way back then..I couldn't have understood them anyway. I also wonder..why the book was given to future generations but wasn't one for the original inhabitants..~scratching my head in biblical confusion ~ Now days...we'd look up at Ezekiel's wheel and say..wow a flying saucer or hmm the boys from area 51 are experimenting again..Ezekiel saw a spinning burning wheel..or a flying chariot..we can only guess at what he actually saw..get all excited then stand around mumbling about why we're excited by something that happened back before sneakers were invented. I think we invent a lot of stuff too..sort of like Ezekiel who wasn't so sure how to explain what he saw..I think we do the same and the brain does a lot of the guesswork for us..without the proper vernacular for description. We just haven't invented the right words yet..give us time..eventually the dictionary WILL be the bible

~remembers singing a spiritual in elementary school music class about Ezekiel~
"Ezekiel saw the wheel... way up in the middle of the air Ezekiel saw the wheel... way in the middle of the air..."
That's the chorus. I forget the verses...
If it's set to music, I will remember it forever and ever. If not, I will instantly forget it... =P

I found a lot of choral versions of this song on youtube, but none of them sounded very good.
I found this one, and it was great. It's a swing version done by "The Charioteers" Here.

Ooo... This one's good.... it raised the hair on the back of my neck... I stand corrected not all of them were bad... lol... Thank you Lorelei, I listened to that song, and imagined using that song track at the end of a marvelous open-minded documentary about UFO's and Abductions by a film maker of the likes of a Public Television series by a Ken Burns. Maybe the program could be called 'Dare to Question'. I would have as the final scene of such a documentary a fundamentalist southern Baptist preacher somewhere (shouldn't be hard to dig one of these dinosaurs up somewhere)...exclaiming that UFOs were evil and everyone of God's children knows there are no such thing as UFOs, that humanity on Earth is the only life in the Universe. The profound arrogant stupidity of that closing scene -to show the irony and stupidity of skeptics can be just as astonishing as some UFO advocates..... there would be a fade out to black...the documentary credits would roll, and in the back ground would be this music playing. Perfect. Thanks, Steve

It really is hard to say what the alien motive is. Would an advanced alien space faring civilization be so advanced that they can create anything and have no desire for our planet or are things not that simple? Maybe a biological species has a limited lifespan, they could be older than us or maybe they can see what we apes will do to our planet reproducing like rabbits, destroying the environment etc. and why let a perfectly good planet that supports life go to waste? The homo sapiens haven't been around a long time compared to life on this planet.
One thing I learned about UFOs and internet forums where you have a lot of talk and speculation is it's better to base things on observation. Look at UFO cases. What are people reporting? What are the occupants telling them? Sometimes the truth can be ugly, not what you want to hear. There's no please everybody response.

And I am afraid those 'other UFO cases' we are studying are based on observation too. The problem is some see a horse, others see a zebra. Some have an extraordinary encounter, and for the rest of their lives are afraid of every light in the sky they see. That compounds observation bias too. I miss old fashioned Flying Saucer reports. They tend now to be 'lights in the sky' or an occasional triangle report. There was a classic pattern to their flight characteristics. You had an idea what it was and what it was not. Most reports now end up being Chinese lanterns or police helicopters. The phenomenon whatever the source of it, human or not - has re-invented itself. You seldom have physical trace cases, the apparent alien technology leaves practically zero residual traces now. The Internet only creates more noise for the phenomenon to hide in now which has to be filtered out and ignored. Reports continue to flood in, but their quality is abysmal. We have so called experts on the Internet radio there simply because they have a fat ego and a good loud voice. They proclaim to be solving important cases making a name for themselves when in reality their lack of basic scientific common sense fails to discover their landing case traces are nothing more than common plasmodial slime mold. Absolutely true..all of it...and the situation has NOT been made any better by the hoaxes and the sloppy reporting and re-reporting of information that has nothing to back it up. In my eyes..it's great to report saucer sightings..possible landings..and abductions. What isn't ok is all of the added input that is the theory of whom ever is doing the reporting. It grows into things with tentacles and horns...far greater than it ever was. Reminds me of Joe Friday's line in drag-net. " Just the facts, ma'am" ;D Sometimes 'just the facts' are just not sensational enough..and as you say Steve..one person thinks horse another zebra..good analogy

You had an idea what it was and what it was not. Most reports now end up being Chinese lanterns or police helicopters. The phenomenon whatever the source of it, human or not - has re-invented itself. Disc-shaped craft or flying saucers have never gone away as you can see here: www.nuforc.org/webreports/ndxsDisk.htmlnawewtech.angelfire.com/disc.htmlI understand that most UFO's are explainable or natural mundane objects and some people feel a bit jaded with UFOLogy thinking it's all nonsense but I think the significant cases are just more rare. You may never win the lottery but some people do. UFO's are kind of the same way. You have to be at the right place at the right time. You seldom have physical trace cases, the apparent alien technology leaves practically zero residual traces now. The Internet only creates more noise for the phenomenon to hide in now which has to be filtered out and ignored. Reports continue to flood in, but their quality is abysmal. Steve I notice a lot of good cases are from overseas. A landing trace from 2003. Did the US secretly develop a defense or is targeting UFO's? Or is the subject just played down an trivialized where potentially good cases are ignored.

"Did the US secretly develop a defense or is targeting UFO's?"
I hope so ;D . When we supposedly pulled our "star wars" stuff from Russia, I hoped this would actually be what "homeland security" is about.
yes, I know. My hopes are "out there".
After a "wave" of ufos (or ifos) in my area for a couple of months, last night I saw a lot of regular small planes, helicopters, the usual traffic, for the first time around a small local airport.
We obviously had some private team practicing in the sky for a bit, but again, it doesn't explain everything.
