Now pay attention. Must get these in the stores for Christmas. (Worrisome - this could put a whole new spin on kids stealing hubcaps....loosen the ole bolts on the rotor blades eh?)

I see several thousand people every day that can't even drive a car that stays on the ground. I've seen a few people who even managed to get a car airborne...for a brief period of time anyway. I can't even imagine the chaos these things would cause if everybody had one. That doesn't mean I wouldn't try one out on occasion. From a different thread... But if you could fly - would you? Even if it was dangerous at times? Answer...definitely!

You can not build roads in the sky, how would this ever work? No road signs . just get up there and take your chances. I mean if everyone had one of these in our city, would be a lot more than a few accidents. I just watched a old Bruce Wllis movie with such cars. Of course it was futuristic. . They had them going down above city streets. I guess you manage it all from above.
Paul, I guess the technicalities would all be worked out later. Like you want go into a store below, where do you park? Land on the roof I guess. We need our city buses. I take them a lot myself. A million questions are going though my mind. Would this still be running on that expensive petroleum called gasoline?
New things have been built before and people said it would never work. Did you know the monopoly game this man invented was turned down by everyone. They told him it was too long a game for one thing. And very boring. Look how long it has lasted. I believe Parker Brothers may of been the first to endorse it for him. Maybe one before Parker even. I goes back almost a hundred years this game.
Computers they say is bad for children to sit at all day, well my grandchildren still play table games . It is what you call family sharing. .. and being together. Toys are more up my alley. I have collected them for years. I have more books on toys than I do ufos.

Don't you know who he is Lorelei?
Another joke about flying cars - "Just what we need - more 'car in the sky' UFO reports".

With todays technology that thing could literally fly itself. They would and could establish a seperate flight path for this new technology. it would probably be controlled in conjunction with Gps satelites and of course would have a black box on board like todays ordinary passenger cars.

May I introduce to you Maj. Boothroyd known in 'the business' as 'Q'. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desmond_LlewelynHis famous line seems to be the 'Now pay attention please"..... When Desmond introduces the Aston Martin DB5 (1965) in 'Goldfinger' fortunately the film makers did it right. Instead of surprising you - they introduce you to the cars gadgets first. It is more fun anticipating for the audience that way.....and the rest as they say is history.... ;D 007 pop quiz - what was the first movie in the James bond series to mention 'Q' as Major Boothroyd by name?

Hi SwampRat,
Kewl looking three wheel 'sports-car' hah hah hah! SwampRat how do you find this stuff?
These things aren't legal in USA over populated areas due to their high failure-to-stay-in-the-sky rating...
I at one time sport-flew gyrocopters in New Mexico.
That V-Car does look kewl....but did you get a good look at the pusher prop? Centrifigal fold-up? I wonder what the 'maintanence : fly' ratio is for that thing?
On the average, my gyrocopters needed 16 hours of maintenance to 1 hour of fly time, due to all of the moving parts that fell off. I was flying along partyin' one time and I noticed when I banked my seat was sliding around alot?, good thing I landed to check things out, heh heh heh, as my chair had unscrewed itself itself from the frame, but I had my safety-belt on, which was attached to the chair!
I quit flying gyrocopters due to a couple of really fast landings I experienced, and the numbers of my flying pals getting splattered.
Me? I'm gonna wait for the personal-disc to come along.

I could have sworn I saw one of the newer Bond movies with a female Q. I just did an internet search for it and came up with nothing... it was an older lady with gray short-cut hair... ...weird... My childhood memories seem to be failing me.

My childhood memories seem to be failing me. You are recalling Judi Dench as 'M'. Bonds boss. Played by Bernard Lee in the earlier films. Steve uk.ask.com/wiki/Judi_Dench?qsrc=3044&oo=0

Back to Flying cars. The original thread theme. Some other concepts over the years. athingforcars.com/autos/six-cool-flying-cars/auto.howstuffworks.com/flying-car2.htmI think the Dutch gyro-copter car design Pal-V shown is by far the most practical. Compact and economical. The above aircraft is more a airplacne you can park in your garage and drive around town with theis large tail section towed around. The Pal -V pal-v.com/the-pal-v-one/ combines some curious 3 wheel conventional autos - the Carver- seen in Europe recently with the simplicity and relative ease of flying a gyro helicopter. It doesn't require much to learn to fly a gyro-copter compared to a more conventional aircraft. Steve
