This dream was in the I gotta wake up soon zone (which meant I could remember it). Seemed like I was being pursued earlier in the dream (details lost). I thought I had eluded whoever was chasing me. But then I was standing and talking and a man walked up and shot me with something in the temple. I went to a mirror and saw a small dark dart with black feather-like fletching stuck in the side of my head above my left ear. I started to touch it and it rotated like a drill and disappeared into my head. As I was absorbing THAT bit of info (and it did not hurt) it later re-appeared, rotating its way out the same way. The feathers (or whatever) were wet and flattened like they had been forced against the direction they were pointing. It fell out...
I KNEW that something had gone in and only the "casing" had come out. I then woke up and immediately touched that part of me - and it did not hurt, there was no lump, etc.
However it was a very very real seeming dream. I've never seen or read anything that matches this piece of night time fiction. The over-all feeling of the dream was shock - seeing it drilling in and confusion both before and upon wakening.
Oh well....
Just to make it clear - I don't think this "really" happened. I don't think I was abducted and something drilled into my brain. The metaphor, "drilled into me" usually refers to being forced to behave a certain way, learning a routine under fear of punishment. I don't know how that relates (people are notoriously bad at interpreting their own dreams...)
