Everyone here knows that I was altered when I had my experience. This is the first person (and obviously an articulate and intelligent person) to put forth the idea that that is probably WHY I had my experience. I was absolutely delighted to listen to every word.

That was an interesting video. His suggestion that aliens modified a plant in order to produce a drug that humans would ingest so they could facilitate conbtact was also interesting. I think it would be kind of unusual for them to go to all of that trouble when there are much easier ways of doing it but it is possible. I've always been curious about how mind altering substances would effect the mind in regards to psychic abilities, and along those same lines I suppose you could also add alien contact. If these advanced beings do communicate telepathically than perhaps if our minds were in a slightly altered state we might be more able to tune into their thought patterns or wavelink. It wouldn't necessarily have to be drugs or narcotics that would facilitate such an altered state either. Look at how many abductions and encounters take place while people are sleeping, when their minds are on the verge of the altered state called dreaming. Hypnosis might also achieve a similar effect, such as with Steve's experiments with Han. Some people may naturally be more psychically developed than others, and therefor more open to ET contact, while these other things such as mind altering drugs or hypnosis may help achieve the same effect. I wonder why some plants (and other substances) have that effect on people? Things in nature usually evolve for a reason so what possible reason could there be for people to be able to alter their minds with these drugs? I have also wondered the same thing about hypnosis. Why are people able to be hypnotized? Why are people able to be drugged? What possible purpose could that serve in nature?

Good questions Skywalker. In the case of food that we have tweeked to be able to harvest easier - that the grain kernels are larger, the plant more nutritious its obvious that the chemistry was suitable for us but then we "improved" upon it (for our own benefit). But what about a mushroom that grows on cowshit, maybe is eaten by a mushroom loving slug but it has within it chemistry that can open the doors of perception (if you believe that)? How about little cacti in Mexico that don't grow more than 2 inches above the ground, I don't think ANYTHING eats them except Yanki Indios and seekers. Bitter, tough and once one has ever eaten any the assurance of nausea and vomiting to come doesn't sweeten the deal. But humans found these unlikely sources of alteration. Were they directed to them? No one who discovered peyote kept it on their edible and choice list.

I wonder what would cause people to eat some of thes things in the first place? "Oh, look, a cactus...I think I'll eat it. Hey there's a big piece of fungus growing on that cow turd...that looks good." Never mind that many mushrooms are deadly poisonous, and the only way the early people could have found out which was which was by eating them and seeing if they were still alive...or not. I would guess that once people found out that mind altering drugs could be made out of plants they probably started experimenting with different plants (and other things) to see if they could find more.

Were they directed to them? Before I watch the video, I want to comment on this. Of everything involved with this subject, the UFO phenomenon, I was directed. It wasn't (IMO) for the reasons I expected. But because it is contrary to what I was thinking, I'm going to think on it some more . I have told that I felt suddenly "directed" to go into a certain type of store, directed to a certain book. And then I continued collecting old books until I had my own library of sorts. (And of course now I know several people who also make an effort to have their own library ). My "library" is diverse, and some books I don't care to read. A part of me thought this collection started because the world was going to lose electricity. I apologize if I have shared this before, and I think I have, but I'm pretty confident that a lot of my books have a certain detail in them, whether it is in the preface or the body of the book. This "detail" is an acknowledgement that the author or subject matter was directed at some point by a "dream", or being "told" in some other way, and at least a couple of these books, when re-printed, this information was left out. So my next thought was "Someone doesn't want us to know about this "spiritual" (or whatever it is) connection". And when I shared this with others they explained the promotion of the humanistic viewpoint, and how it is happening. Now, I don't know if I believe that a certain guy was given fire, or if we were taught about weapons or even musical instruments. That's a bit much for me . But as for what plant to use, especially for medicinal purposes, seeing as how we were "born" in a garden, it makes perfect sense .

Well said JC, I especially like the last paragraph you typed. Skywalker: when you're starving, a mushroom growing in cow *bleep* or a cactus can grow to look appealing... very quickly... I'm quite certain the cow *bleep* itself will look appealing as well... if one is hungry enough... Paulette: Have you ever read Aldous Huxley? I read Brave New World for my advanced English class, but I never picked up any of his other books. I did some research on him and discovered he experimented with all kinds of mind-altering substances. I'm sure there's a book somewhere with his findings in it... you know... Soma... yea... it was a huge interest of his... ~shrug~ I know when I used to smoke marijuana when I was 19 it would have all sorts of odd effects on me. It distorts your perception of time, it distorts logical thinking, and other interesting effects. One effect which blew me away was the effect it had on my ability to play a computer game. Yea. You read that right. A computer game... It was a game that came with my laptop for free and I could NEVER get past level 2. I had been trying for WEEKS and I just couldn't do it... it frustrated the heck out of me. One night I smoked some weed with my friend. I played the computer game and made it to level 17 without a single game over... I couldn't believe it!! I was sooo excited! The next day- I tried it again. I couldn't get past level 2. I never could get past level 2 without smoking weed first. Ever. I think it actually does make you smarter... and I think it actually does open up doors... you're just unable to verbally express it properly so it makes you look stoopid... lol...

Thanks Lorelei! I'm also a believer in the shamanic experience, and of course that involves plants. Well, I watched this Terrance McKenna video, and one other of his, last night. This video posted on here is better than the other ufo information tape, and it seems Mr. McKenna has a large body of work. I've got more studying to do . I believe that what he says on this video, about mushrooms being the only container on earth that has this specific drug, is very interesting. I hadn't heard it put this way before. . . and he is very articulate (and humorous, by the way) and I just wanted him to go on. . . along this particular thought. How much more could a person go on? I wanted him to single out other things that could be so obvious. . . I have also heard about the "spirit molecule" , DMT, and I wonder how many scientists (and others) are clearly listening. This does seem to be an experiment that does continually repeat itself .

As for dope, I believe that its effects on different people are unpredictable.
Sure, there's a general idea, . . . and I think in Lorelei's case the smarter is an exception ;D. I do think that some people experience a "clarity" in performing a task or two, and that in its pure form it has a purpose on this earth for both mind and medicinal.
Since it is generally a form of recreation nowadays, people should use it as such. I.E. IN THEIR DOWN TIME. At home, away from vehicles, etc.
However, it does build up in a persons' body with continual usage, and I think that can change a persons perception of reality. Which can then change a persons personality, and then we could go on to talk about how drugs like Proz>K can do this (in fact appears to do so). . .and how drugs are prescribed, etc. etc.
