Much of what once seemed mysterious — the existence of humanity, the life-bearing perfection of Earth, the workings of the universe — can now be explained by biology, astronomy, physics and other domains of science. Although cosmic mysteries remain, Sean Carroll, a theoretical cosmologist at the California Institute of Technology, says there's good reason to think science will ultimately arrive at a complete understanding of the universe that leaves no grounds for God whatsoever. Carroll argues that God's sphere of influence has shrunk drastically in modern times, as physics and cosmology have expanded in their ability to explain the origin and evolution of the universe. "As we learn more about the universe, there's less and less need to look outside it for help," he told Life's Little Mysteries. He thinks the sphere of supernatural influence will eventually shrink to nil. But could science really eventually explain everything? I did read that and had to laugh. It's impossible to rule out God unless you personally allow that. Anything science can find in the vastness of the universe..could still have been created by God (insert name preference here). Perhaps the creator woke up one day and said..'I'm in the mood to create something expansive and hugely amazing. Something that will challenge mankind's faith eventually..something ongoing and scientific.' Most scientists aren't particularly religious being more a logical beastie..seeing is believing..or theory is believing..kind of people. They just haven't learned yet you can have it all. I love theorists. Since the rules are thus...and things must behave according to those rules..therefore..it has to be. Is that like another word for faith? ;D

Actually for me it was science that convinced me that there was a creator. Everything in the universe is happening like it was designed to happen that way...kind of similar to a computer program. There are too many complex things going on that start out small and gradually evolve into ever more complex things that could not possibly have happened just by shear chance.
Take the eyeball for instance. There is no way that such a complicated organ could have happened by chance just through the random mutation and division of cells. It never would have worked if it had not been designed to work the way that it eventually did. That is creative design at work. Science has no explanation for it.

I agree Skywalker and Jo. It only enhances and confirms my belief though I love science too. I see it all inter-connected and working together to make it all possible. I don't believe something can come from nothing. I believe it was all created for a purpose. Not all Astronomers, Biologists, and others in the field of science have this belief about there being no God. I know many who strongly believe in His existence .

Science is just our way of explaining how things work...it doesn't mean that God didn't make it happen. Science and religion can co-exist. One doesn't have to rule out the other.

I think that they will try to put that idea in some peoples head . But the percentage of being right is less than 1/10th 0f 1%. I know that in my experience they told me that they told me that they honor a supreme being that answers all prayers from all our Gods on Earth and in the universe. This is a question that is asked by all abductees . I told them that I still will honor my God that I was brought up by . They agreed with me and don't forsake him . STRANGE for a answer like that
