"Halloween" Lobster Found in TrapA fisherman from Salem, Massachusetts found what looked like a Halloween trick or treat in one of his lobster traps. It was an orange and black colored lobster with the colors split directly down the middle. Believe it or not this is not a joke. The lobster is what is known as a "split" lobster and is actually the result of a very rare process of complete cellular division immediately after the egg is fertilized. The mutation is extremely rare and only happens about once in every 50 to 100 million lobsters. While it is extremely rare, orange and black is supposedly the most common color pattern of these weird critters.
