Is it becoming a standard to label everything we do not understand as having been done by aliens? I got to thinking about this the other day..the pyramids are a for instance..along with a bunch of other things..Easter Island, Stonehenge.. Because we don't understand how or why they might have been developed we toss in an 'alien' solution. Our own world might have answers we've never considered..but we're thinking it had to be other civilizations. Maybe we're not hunting in the right cabbage patch. Maybe our ancestors were much more talented than we give credit for and maybe there was some downfall of civilization that halted progress for a time. I rather like the idea of mysteries on our own planet that don't include space travelers. ;D

A lot of the so-called "unexplained mysteries" of the world actually do have scientific explanations. It's just that they often are not reported by the mainstream (and sensationalistic) news media. If a show is doing a documentary on an unexplained mystery do you really think they are going to talk about boring things like archaeologists digging around in the dirt and doing carbon testing and studying soil samples and stuff like that? The average viewers don't want to hear scientific mumbo-jumbo. They want to hear aliens and ghosts and the end of the world type stuff. That's why that "Chasing UFOs" series was so silly. Instead of showing actual UFO investigations they tried to make the investigators look like James Bond or Fox Mulder or something. It is all about ratings. If you want to know the real truth about these "mysterious" places and things you would have to research all of the scholarly publicatios on them...the technical journals and papers that are written by scientists for other scientists to see. The average person with no scientific training would probably be bored out of their minds reading them. And that is if they could even understand any of it.
