Not being let out suggests that there was a fear that the people inside had been contaminated with something nasty that they could take home. Not letting people IN might only suggest that something was blowing around in the wind, lurking in the basements. Neither are great thoughts however the first is the scariest. North America narrowly missed having a Marlburg virus outbreak in a Virginia lab that was testing level 4 biotoxins. Two workers were very ill (but survived) all the monkeys (and there were around 500 were killed because presumably they were infected. That was some time ago - 15 years maybe?
There were a couple of missionaries who came back from various places - Africa, South America bearing a bodyful of viruses - hemorrhagic was one. It was sh..t house luck that it didn't spread around the neighborhood. Someone (us maybe) should keep this one under investigation...

I found various sites talking about that the base was re-opening on the 27th and also confirming that this base tests biological weapons. I don't know how to embed or I would.

I did a search for the article you mentioned paulette, but I was unable to find it. To embed text, you simply select the text you want to post, then you copy-paste it into the reply box. As JJ would say: make sure you also post the link to the website in your post by copy-pasting. To embed a picture, bring up the picture, right-click on the picture then drag to "View Picture" or "View Image" depending on what computer/operating system you are using. After you bring up the picture by itself, copy the link, then paste it into the reply box. After you paste the picture link, select the entire link (highlight) with your mouse, then click on the little picture button. To embed a youtube video, copy the link, paste it in the reply box, then click on the red "Tube" button. I hope this was helpful.

They claim it was just an inventory discrepancy which means that somebody probably just typed in the wrong number when counting the vials. It doesn't mean that it was ever actually missing. Still, when you are dealing with something that could potentially kill who knows how many millions of people simple errors like that can not be tolerated. They need to either be more careful or get rid of the stuff permanently. I do see a couple of pieces of good news about this incident. First is the fact that they took the necessary precautions to protect the public while working to resolve the issue, and second is that they actually told the public that it happened instead of just sweeping it all under the rug and pretending that it didn't. The important thing now is to make certain that it never happens again. The last thing we need is an outbreak of some deadly virus that could wipe out half the people on the planet.
