It's always better to be safe than sorry but this one is a hoax that's been around since 2000 I remember it. I checked with Symantec and CNN and there was no warning from them. More on it here: urbanlegends.about.com/library/bl_a_card_for_you.htmthis one was very similar..I'll never understand why people are so malicious 'Invitation' or 'Olympic Torch' Virus Warning Netlore Archive: The 'Invitation' or 'Olympic Torch' virus alert was first sighted just prior to the opening of the 2006 Winter Olympics. It warns of a computer virus which takes the form of 'an Olympic torch which burns the hard disc.' Description: Virus hoax Circulating since: Dec. 2005 Status: False Just keep your firewalls up and don't open anything you don't know personally.

What is the point in hoaxing a virus alert? I don't get it. Those people have nothing better to do?

What's the point of hoaxes in general, sky? The motives of some hoaxers, and why they do what they do, are sometimes not worth exploring.

Malicious fools with nothing better to do. Instead of managing something constructive...have a need to cause upset. Sort of like UFO hoaxes..people think it's funny.
