Recently I went through a very emotional event. That night I was staying in a hotel unable to sleep. I seriously laid on my back counting the ceiling tiles. I got up at 3am and made some herbal tea. At 4am I tried to get back to sleep, but again just laid there. So much was going through my mind. Plus, I was trying to rid my body of a lot of emotion and adrenaline and was somewhat shaking. I remember looking at the clock at 5am and thinking about just getting up for the day. Then I heard a noise in the room and I felt my body immediately tense. Next thing I knew it was 7am. At the time I didn't think much about it. I just got up and started to make some coffee. As I was waiting for the coffee to brew, I began to think about it and it didn't make sense. When I got up at 7am, I didn't think I fell asleep, but that time just went by faster. Yet, the time between 5am and 7am was almost instant. Then as I tried to remember more, I remembered that when I heard the noise I tensed, but also I sat up and said, "who's there!". After that is just a blank. The next thing I remember is laying on my back and turning my head to the clock and it was 7am. Also, I cannot remember what the noise was. I was in a hotel, which tend to be noisy to begin with, but this one got my attention. It was more than just a muffled thump or footsteps in the hall. I'm not putting to much into it because I was not in a good mental state, I was sleep deprived, and I was in a hotel. Yet, it was incredibly weird. Chalk another moment up to explainable, yet strange.

~hugs to sansseed~
I hope things are going better for you now honey!
That kind of stuff happens to me all the time... when I'm in bed looking at the clock, then I roll over, and about five seconds later I look back over at the clock and it's 2 or 3 or 6 hours later. I tell myself I just fell asleep really quickly and didn't realize it until I woke up. ~shrug~

Was the emotional event what happened at the hotel or was it something that happened before that? Emotions can sometimes effect our perceptions of things in weird ways. I recently went through a series of "emotional events" and I ended up having insomnia for about a month afterwords. I had a heck of a time getting to sleep. Good luck with whatever is bothering you, Sanseed.

Yeah, what happened was earlier in the day. I was out of town at the time and had to stay in a hotel room, because I was in no shape to drive the several hours to get home.
I think you are right, Skywalker, emotions can mess with your perception of things, and this was one of those moments. Yet, it still makes it a bit discerning and strange.

Ok, I'm really starting to wonder now. Last night I went to bed at 9pm. I wasn't feeling the best and thought that maybe I was coming down with something, so thought heading to bed early would be a good idea. Even though I was tired, I laid there for a bit because my mind was busy. I looked at the clock and the time was 9:30pm. Then my son started to move and squirm and whine like he was having a bad dream. I reached over and rubbed his back for a minute until he woke up. When he did wake up, I looked at the clock again and it was 11:30pm. What?!
Did I fall asleep? I assume so, but darn that was weird. It seemed to be just a minute or two in between looking at the clock. Now, that is twice in just a few weeks.

Hmm...interesting, Sanseed. Are you having any dreams or anything else unusual happen?

The only time I ever lost time (3 hours worth) was when my friend and I were getting 'acquainted' with some creepy little thugs from heaven only knows where. Took me many years to pull up those memories. Sanseed..try a bit of meditation when all is quiet at home (when is it ever quiet with kids) but try. Clear your mind then ask to be guided to some answers. That will often work for me.

Sky, it was a pretty typical normal night prior to going to bed, and nothing out of the ordinary afterwards. When I realized that it was 11:30, I laid there for a while thinking about it. Nothing was strange, and my dog was happily napping at the end of the bed. So, I rolled over and went to sleep. As for dreams, there has been nothing that stands out as of late (well, except for one, but that was about a very earthly issue). So, to answer your questions nothing odd has surrounded this. Auntym, yeah it was kind of like that. You swear just a minute or two has passed, but when you look it's been hours. It is a bit discerning. Jokelly, Thanks, I do meditate, but not on a regular basis. When I do, I'm usually asking for patience or calm in relations to raising the kids. I will give this a try, but you are right..., it seems like quiet moments are few and far between.

I want to add something I noticed. My arms are sore. Mostly it is my biceps. They feel like they did after one particular yoga session we spent most of the time doing planks. I've been racking my brain to think of anything physical that I had done that would make my arms sore, but I'm coming up blank. I've injured my ankle recently and stuck wearing a walking boot thing. Therefore, I've been spending a lot of time sitting, and keeping my physical activity to a minimum. Certainly haven't done any working out or yoga in a few weeks. I noticed this yesterday, but the soreness wasn't that bad so I didn't put that much thought into it, but today they are really sore. I mean, to the point of being shaky when I try to lift anything heavier than a coffee cup. Which would make sense if I did something physical on Wednesday (the second day is always the worse). I'm truly stumped.

I've been having this image that keeps coming to my mind. It is almost like a song that gets stuck in your head, but with an image. It is of someone/thing standing over me (as though I'm in a low vantage point, like laying down). There is nothing buy blackness around us. That is pretty much all there is to the image.
I've tried to put out of my mind, but it keeps popping up. I'm assuming that it is nothing more than all the time I spend reading, researching, surfing I've done on the alien subject. Yet, I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this? Plus, with the strangeness of this past week makes me go hmmm.

I hope you get to take it off soon. ~hugs~ How odd that your arms are so sore... maybe you were doing push-ups in your sleep? lol... yea I know... not plausible for most people... but for me it would be from what people have told me... lol... The wonderful thing about being an active sleep-walker... you never remember what you did or why you did it...

Not to happy about it, but I keep telling myself that it is better now than in the middle of summer. That would be one heck of a farmer's tan. Sleep walking did cross my mind, but I have never done that in the past. Well, no one has ever reported to me that I was sleep walking...., flopping around like a fish in my sleep, yes, but sleep walking, no. I still have no real explanation for it. That one still has me stumped.
