Night trip to old hospital near Bristol leaves friends terrified of "ghost" sighting

Does Ashton Court have ghostly grey ladies and phantom hounds?
WHAT Eric Carlon and his friends saw one evening has seen them vow never to return to the derelict former hospital, once a home to hundreds of patients from across the Bristol area.
Eric, 51, from Weston-super-Mare, visited the hospital in the early hours of the morning with friends John and Claire.
"Initially it was just a bit of fun," said property developer Eric.
"We walked around and at first didn't see anything."
However when they got into the courtyard of the Woodside unit – the former nursing and staff quarters – the atmosphere changed dramatically.
"We heard a muffled sound of voices. It was 3.30am and my watch stopped," said Eric.
A waft of strong disinfectant filled the air – despite the fact the hospital had been closed and left derelict for several years.
"As we walked into the building, we were laughing and joking," said Eric.
"It was creepy and atmospheric and the sort of place you would expect to see ghosts. When we got outside I then felt Claire being physically pushed forward. We didn't want to go back into the building so we left.
"We only had a Samsung camera phone and we took about five random photographs which when we looked at when we got home, showed balls of light at the window.
"On closer inspection we could see they were human faces."
A few weeks later, Eric and John decided to make a return visit to the hospital armed with a torch and a basic Samsung camera. During their exploration of the hospital, the pair of amateur ghosthunters took 168 photographs.
"We didn't even look at the camera's picture viewer at the time, but when we got back, we could hardly believe what we saw."
The images show a man holding a cross, faces in the windows of the former hospital and numerous cats skulking around the site. A hooded figure is in one of the corridors and orbs – balls of spirit energy – are seen in many of the pictures.
Much of the buildings seem to be shrouded in mist – despite the night of the visit being dry and clear.
