But even in the last few years, there have been UFO sightings that can't easily be explained away, along with testimony from highly credible witnesses. At the 20th annual International UFO Congress, or IUFOC, nearly 30 speakers will travel from around the world to Scottsdale, Ariz., on Wednesday for a five-day conference with topics including alien technology, government cover-ups, black projects, crop circles and ultimate disclosure of extraterrestrial visits to Earth. "This year is pretty exciting because we have a very credible lineup -- we're really bringing a strong ex-military presence. We have six retired military personnel, three of whom were officers," said Alejandro Rojas of Open Minds Production, which is hosting the event. TO CONTINUE READING CLICK ON ABOVE LINK

Weekend UFO Convention may change your mindUpdated: Wednesday, 23 Feb 2011, 5:40 PM MST SCOTTSDALE - Apparently, the skies above Phoenix are a hot bed for alien activity. If you don't believe in extra terrestrials, you might start to after you come to this convention. The UFO Congress will be held all week at Radisson Fort McDowell, and we took a tour. If you're ready to believe, then this is the place for you. "I think everybody should be interested. Isn't that the biggest story in the world? Visitation from an extra terrestrial civilization?" says Jeff Willes, a skywatcher. More than 700 people are here in the valley for the 20th Annual International UFO Congress. It's the first time the annual convention is being held in the Phoenix area. 'Evidence' of alien life forms are on display, and there's even one woman who claims she's not entirely human The convention goes through Sunday. It's $50 dollars to attend the lectures and free to visit the vendors. They just ask that you come with an open mind. The Radisson Fort McDowell Resort, just north of Fountain Hills on SR-87, was the host of the 20th annual International UFO Congress between Wednesday and Sunday, drawing hundreds of amateur Fox Mulders and Dana Scullys from around the world. More than twenty speakers graced the stage over the five-day event with stories of crop circles, extraterrestrial contact, government cover-ups, and even Stan Romanek -- the self-claimed most abducted American in history. A vendor's area filled up a ballroom of the hotel, with folks selling all of the paranormal staples -- crystal skulls, DVDs of UFO footage, alien-themed jewelry and clothing, homeopathic remedies, and authors peddling their expertise and experience to anyone willing to listen. There were no tinfoil-hat salesmen or alien implants for purchase, but there was some serious stuff going on in that vendor's room. TO CONTINUE READING CLICK ON ABOVE LINK

2012 UFO Congress Lifetime Achievement Colin Andrews Uploaded by openmindstv on Mar 2, 2012 Colin Andrews was awarded the Open Minds Production Lifetime Achievement award. The award was presented to Colin at the 2012 International UFO Congress at the Radisson Fort McDowell Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona. Colin Andrews was the man who coined the term "crop circle" in the mid-1980s and spent three decades researching the phenomenon. During 2000, while being funded by Laurance Rockefeller to undertake an in-depth look at crop circles, Andrews announced that the two-year special investigation had shown approximately 80% of crop circles in the United Kingdom during that period were manmade, while 20% were left unresolved. Since that conclusion, Andrews has focused on what he believes to be the important piece of the crop circle mystery, human consciousness. For more about Colin Andrews, visit: www.colinandrews.net

Travis Walton Fire in the Sky 2011 International UFO Congress Uploaded by openmindstv on Mar 6, 2012 This is the full presentation from Travis Walton's 2011 appearance at the International UFO Congress in Fountain Hills, Arizona. Travis Walton claims that in 1975, while working as a logger in Arizona, he and several co-workers came across a UFO in the forest which shot a beam of light at Travis. Frightened, his friends fled the scene. When they returned Walton was gone. Walton recalled waking up on the side of the road; he thought only a few hours had past, but he had actually been missing for 5 days. He later recalled being on the craft and the strange creatures that were there with him. Travis Walton is the subject of the Paramount Studios movie, Fire in the Sky, based on his book of the same name. His close encounter has become recognized as the best documented case of alien abduction ever recorded. Mr. Walton speaks to audiences and media around the world to share what it has been like living through the ordeal of the experience and its aftermath. He presents the evidence for the incident and takes wide ranging questions from the audience, which usually results in bringing out new perspectives and bits of information previously overlooked. Reserve deputy terminated for investigating UFOs [/color] Uploaded by openmindstv on Mar 29, 2012 At the recent 2012 International UFO Congress, Chuck Zukowski and his sister Debbie Ziegelmeyer sat down with Open Minds and discussed his 2011 termination as a reserve deputy as a result of his paranormal investigations. On February 11, 2011 two deputies went to the home of Chuck Zukowski to relieve him of his badge, gun and ID, handing him a termination letter ending his eight year stint as a reserve sheriff's deputy in El Paso County, Colorado. The letter begins, "The termination is a result of you conducting paranormal and unidentified flying object investigations into animal mutilations..." Zukowski has been conducting paranormal investigations for decades, many of which are documented on his website, www.ufonut.com. He is also a family man and successful microchip engineer. However, for the last eight years he has put aside time to help out the El Paso County Sherriff's Department as a volunteer reserve deputy. devoid.blogs.heraldtribune.com/14437/a-hall-of-fame-moment/A hall of fame momentBy Billy Cox, Herald-Tribune / Friday, February 14, 2014 If International UFO Congress organizers had booked Ban-Ki moon to make “a major announcement” about The Great Taboo in Fountain Hills, Ariz., this weekend, it would’ve made no difference to the media. The newsies are incapable of making it past the vendor booths in the lobby. It's like a honeybee ignoring spring flowers -- they just can’t do it. Two years ago, for instance, the IUFOC scheduled Ricardo Bermudez as its headliner. This was a huge deal — unprecedented, in fact — because the retired Chilean air force general now runs that nation’s official UFO research program. Not only was he prepared to talk about his government’s ways and means, Bermudez also promised to share data, including a videotaped air force UFO encounter. Give the news media a taste of this stuff in the lobby and it's like feeding chocolate to dogs/CREDIT: blogs.phoenixnewtimes.com De Void won’t insult your intelligence by asking how much coverage you think Bermudez’s presentation rated. But in an age where business models, innovation and traditional formulas can shift within the span of a single news cycle, it’s kind of, well, refreshing to see that the cliches and lame puns that have characterized American UFO coverage for the last 50 years remain as stalwart and rigid as buttes and mesas. It’s like having LBJ in the White House forever and ever. In fact, so rarely do we find any 1.0 consistency in the digital age, De Void roots for anything that successfully resists change, and may soon establish a Great Taboo Media Coverage Hall of Fame. Were those honors in place today, the first inductee would be Jessica Flores of Fox News 10 in Phoenix. Although there are no featured guests of Bermudez’s heft in this year’s IUFOC lineup for her to ignore, Flores clearly makes all the right moves. www.phoenixnewtimes.com/2014-02-27/news/phoenix-s-international-ufo-congress/ Phoenix's UFO Congress Probes What Believers Insist Comes From "Above" By Jason P. Woodbury Thursday, Feb 27 2014 David Armstrong's music is out of this world. At least that's how he explains it. According to the Minnesota-based musician's website, his "spirit guides recently turned him onto a being named The Traveler." Armstrong communicated with it, and The Traveler "brought David music from various Alien races to help humanity adjust to the ascension frequencies occurring on our planet." The music sounds surprisingly funky. Armstrong has five portable CD players splayed across his table at the 2014 International UFO Congress, an annual gathering of UFO enthusiasts at the Radisson Fort McDowell Resort and Casino on the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation, near Fountain Hills. Each CD player has a corresponding set of headphones and features a different set of recordings. Their covers bear UFO imagery and cosmic scenes. Some feature music composed to aid in healing and meditation, naming songs for locations in the Southwest: Scottsdale, Palm Springs, and Joshua Tree. But on albums like Galactic Groove and Music from the Stars, containing tunes he says were beamed to him from a light being from the Andromeda Galaxy, Armstrong plays synthetic acid jazz, sounding like something between a digital Funkadelic and the theme from Seinfeld. The UFO conference's vendor room acts as a window into its attendees: There are New Age crystals for sale; Native American art featuring UFOs conspicuously floating in beautiful desert skies. One booth examines the extraterrestrial/sasquatch connection, while pop culturists, like Aaron Sagers of the Travel Channel's Paranormal Paparazzi, and former FBI agent Ben Hansen, who hosts Fact or Fake: Paranormal Files on the Syfy channel, display their wares: footage taken with high-tech cameras, books, and posters. There are Sedona citizens discussing orbs and vortexes, wooden flutes emitting haunting melodies, and underwear. Kind of sexy underwear, even: a black thong stretched over a silver mannequin's buttocks. There is a blue alien head — "The Observer," a nearby sign explains — prominently featured on the skimpy strip of fabric. www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/09/18/guinness-worlds-largest-ufo-convention_n_5813890.html?utm_hp_ref=weird-newsBig Honors For UFO Congressby Lee Speigel / lee.speigel@huffingtonpost.com Posted: 09/18/2014 Every year, as UFO sightings and reports continue to fascinate the public, UFO conventions, seminars and meetings continue to draw the public, anxious to learn more about the subject. A 2013 HuffPost/YouGov poll revealed that nearly half of the adult population of American adults believe some UFOs may be alien spacecraft observing our planet. UFO conventions of all sizes cater to audiences of different sizes, but in the end, only one of these UFO fests can be considered as the biggest. The newly-published "Guinness World Records 2015" has just designated the Arizona-based International UFO Congress as the "world's largest UFO convention." The book states: The 23rd International UFO Congress was held in Scottsdale in Arizona, USA, on Feb. 12-16, 2014. An average of 1,500 people attended events throughout the week on topics such as official cover-ups, exopolitics, black projects, crop circles and visitations. "This is a newly established category and is being first published in our "Guinness World Records 2015" book, which has just been launched," Jamie Panas Antoniou, Guinness World Records North America PR manager, told HuffPost in an email. Antoniou added that this world's largest designation is connected to the overwhelming popularity of UFOs in our culture. "The Guinness World Records book is considered a 'snapshot' of our world today, and people's innate curiosity about alien life and UFOs is a part of that." www.openminds.tv/bob-lazar-appear-2015-international-ufo-congress/30766 Area 51 whistleblower Bob Lazar appearing at the 2015 International UFO CongressPosted by: Jason McClellan October 28, 2014 In 1989, Bob Lazar came forward to assert that he had worked on reverse-engineering alien technology at a secret facility in Nevada called S-4 that was built into a mountainside just south of Area 51’s main site. The world was introduced to Area 51, and to Bob Lazar, by KLAS investigative reporter George Knapp who interviewed Lazar about his claims. Now, twenty-five years later, both Knapp and Lazar will be reuniting for a special appearance at the world’s largest annual UFO conference–the International UFO Congress. The assertions made by Lazar are well-known staples in UFO lore, and they served as a catalyst for Area 51’s rise to pop culture prominence. He alleges that he was expelled from working at Area 51 after it was discovered that he had told friends where they could watch test flights of the advanced extraterrestrial technology on which he was working. Although many believe Lazar’s assertions, critics dismiss his claims, citing the lack of supporting evidence, including the absence of employment and education records. But Lazar, who asserts the government erased his records, stands by his claims. Knapp and Lazar reunited in May 2014 on the twenty-fifth anniversary of their first interview. Lazar’s story remains the same now as it was when he told it twenty-five years ago. Although he has his critics, Lazar recently told Knapp that he really doesn’t care if anyone believes him or not. He is not trying to convince anyone, and he has tried to leave UFOs in his past. In their recent interview, Lazar, who currently runs a scientific equipment and supply store in Michigan with his wife called United Nuclear, explains to Knapp, “This is not a business of mine. I am trying to run a scientific business, and if I’m the UFO guy, it makes it really difficult, it is to my benefit that people don’t believe the story.” CONTINUE READING: www.openminds.tv/bob-lazar-appear-2015-international-ufo-congress/30766

devoid.blogs.heraldtribune.com/15227/admiring-the-parking-lot/Admiring the parking lotBy Billy Cox, Herald-Tribune / Monday, February 23, 2015 History repeated itself repeated itself last week in Arizona with Phoenix-based “12 News” coverage of the International UFO Congress at Fort McDowell. While not quite atrocious enough to win De Void’s Jessica Flores Disembodied Head Journalism Award, the NBC affiliate proved once again how impossible it is for reporters — particularly TV - to cover actual UFO news with so much target-rich visual crap cluttering the lobby. Seriously -- if you're with the media, would you rather wade through boring old government UFO documents or cover something like this?/CREDIT: pinterest.com Seriously -- if you're with the media, what's more fun: wading through boring old government UFO documents, or covering something like this?/CREDIT: pinterest.com Don’t go clogging me up with hate mail. Please — De Void has nothing against chainsaw-sculpture space aliens, “professional aura experts,” and an herbal drink “with amazing health benefits.” They all have their place, and vendors help keep the lights on. But the IUFOC bills itself as the Guinness-certified largest UFO conference in the world; yet, the coverage remains consistent, no matter what year it is or who the speakers are. It’s like if Disney World opened another theme park and reporters kept coming back with stories about the parking lot. The only reason De Void bothers to mention it now is how that predictable formula was juxtaposed, also last week, against the way WGN handled an interview with Chicago videographer Adam Dew. Did you happen to catch that? It’s worth a look, if for no other reason than its relative sobriety. If you’re new to The Great Taboo, there’s a major controversy raging about the scheduled unveiling of purported Roswell alien-corpse slides in Mexico City on May 5. Nobody outside a select few have even seen the images yet, but everyone’s weighing in with proclamations, and often with personal invective. Adam Dew has not only seen the photos, he recently released a trailer about his investigation of them for an upcoming documentary called “Kodachrome.” Although Dew is a Chicago homie, WGN was certainly under no obligation to book the guy for an extended Q&A. But they did, and for 8.5 largely dispassionate minutes, which is a monster chunk of time. What was so unusual about this major-market interview was its tone, devoid of the usual trivialty, imagery and cultural references. It was almost as if the hosts were engaging a “real” issue. Given the fact that the original owners of the film are long since deceased, whatever emerges from Mexico City in May will not be a smoking gun. It could become a significant piece of circumstantial evidence or another Al Capone’s vault. For those with hard-wired biases either way, media treatment of that event won’t make converts of anybody. But for the vast majority of news consumers oblivious to the controversy, press coverage will likely be a decisive opinion-shaper. Maybe the absolute best we can hope for is that Mexico City’s National Auditorium — where the UFO pix will go on trial for the first time on Cinco de Mayo — will keep the little green man inflatables and the alien T-shirts out of the lobby and squared safely away in their boxes. devoid.blogs.heraldtribune.com/15227/admiring-the-parking-lot/

The 26th Annual International UFO Congress will be hosted in Arizona this year. The three-day conference will be held from February 15 to 17, during which UFO and alien experts will shed light on various topics, including contact with alien life forms, paranormal experience, alien abductees’ civil rights, crop circles, and media bias in UFO coverage. New evidence suggesting the presence of aliens and UFOs is coming out every day. According to a recent report by the Inquisitr, as of 1976, approximately 15 million people in the U.S. have reported seeing UFOs and alien beings. More than 2,000 contact cases have been reported, and about 700 landings have left trace evidence. This was brought to light by physicist Don Elkins. “There is no longer any real doubt that UFOs exist. The question is: Who are they? And why are they here? It is quite possible that understanding them is the most important endeavor which we can undertake. There are thousands of people around the world who are quite certain that they know at least some of the answers to the riddles of these elusive manifestations,” said Elkins. Jan Harzan, CEO of Mutual UFO Network (MUFON), according to a recent report by Express, said that the U.S. government is covering up the fact about UFOs and aliens because it would cripple global finances and destroy religious beliefs. “One possible reason is because they believe, rightly or wrongly, that Earth’s population is not ready for such a revelation. Other thoughts are that the knowledge would create widespread panic, cripple the stock market and end religion as we know it. Another possible reason is that the technology these beings have is so far advanced – whether it be faster-than-light travel, time travel or other far-advanced technology – that it poses a national security threat to America, especially if these capabilities were to fall into enemy hands,” he said. The EBE Film Festival runs throughout the International UFO Congress. The film festival begins on Tuesday, September 3, the day before the conference. This is when all accepted entries are viewed and judged by volunteer judges. Anyone can volunteer to be a judge as long as they plan to view all entries, but one does not have to be a judge to attend all or some of the film screenings. The top 3 films in each category (Long Form and Short Form) will be shown either Thursday or Friday night (February 15 or 16, respectively), depending on movie lengths and the time available each evening. The films shown Thursday and Friday night (top 3 from each category as decided by Tuesday’s judging) will also be eligible for the People’s Choice Award, which will be determined during the awards ceremony on Saturday, September 7.
