ufobriefcase.net/2011/02/27/us-fire-training-manual-enemy-attack-and-ufo-potential/US Fire Training Manual: Enemy Attack and UFO Potential Fire Officers Guide to Disaster ControlThe US training manual for Fire Fighters is called ‘Fire Officers Guide to Disaster Control’. The 600 page book covers all forms of emergency situations including Fires and natural disasters. However Chapter 13 is titled ‘Enemy Attack and UFO Potential’. The chapter lists a range of possible scenarios that a Fire Officer may experience in a potential UFO invasion. For example, the manual states: * Fire offices could experience engine trouble as the approach the scene * Radio contact could be lost with their dispatcher * At night, the headlights could go out * The city could blackout and a generator may also fail to function * How do you treat injured Aliens! We were lucky enough to come content from Chapter 13. We have quoted only portions of the manual as shown below: THE UFO THREAT — A FACT In this chapter we will now turn our attention to the very real threat posed by Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs), whether they exist or not. The well-documented and highly publicized War of the Worlds radio drama by Orson Welles shows how even a perceived existence to alien creatures can cause very real disaster-like conditions and panic among a given populace. In addition, if the apparent visits by alien beings and their space vehicles should pose any type of threat, it will, as always, be the fire service that is called upon to provide the first line of life-saving defense and disaster mitigation. We found following topic concerning UFO hazards very interesting: UFO HAZARDS The two principal hazards noted with relation to UFOs have been attributed to powerful electrical fields which they can project in a general or localized area and the psychological effects they have produced on the general populace or individual contacts. Wow! Well, if the firemen are ready, we dumb uninformed civilians should get ready too. OK now I've got an earthquake kit (but not sure where to put it as if in the house I might not be there or the house might not be there.) (In my car but a tree might fall on it or I might be in the other vehicle.) So I've got a blanket in the car and a first aide kit and some hand warmers (good to tuck into a space blanket for extra warmth). We've got blankets, shovels and first kit in the second vehicle. The kit is in our living room?
But what oh what should I put in my the-aliens-are-here kit? I suppose a flashlight would be good. The camera should be in there or at least SOME camera. I'm tempted to buy a Geiger counter anyway what with the radioactive water dumps going on here and there. Ah...of course a wind up radio in both kits. But I'm thinking the alien kit should definitely be in my car. Because if they are cruising over my house in suburbia other people will already be taking pictures and running around shouting. Maybe.
What say the rest of you. Steve, you're bound to have a grab and go kit given that you are an investigator. What is in it? Besides candy bars and maybe a small flask of potent alcohol for later....

Flashlight could be good and maybe a lighter (maybe it will impress them with our 'fire making genius'. Hmmm... Reese's pieces ..maybe some m&m's..I hear they love those. Mace? Uzi? If they're coming down here all rowdy..we need Will Smith! Kidding aside..we know how to prepare for natural disasters but invasions by hostile aliens..I haven't run into that book in the library yet. Bet on panic and stupidity and really dumb fools carrying guns who'll end up shooting us. Smart people with guns never bother me but it doesn't take a brain to buy one so idiots are armed too. I'm pretty sure all that will happen before they even land...so the basic kit might be one to protect against your neighbor.

Don't forget the tin-foil hat! ;D Did anybody read my article on Ten Helpful Tips For UFO witnesses? It lists a few things witnesses might want to consider doing. I never thought about writing about a UFO invasion kit. That might make an interesting article. I'll get my brain to working on it.

What say the rest of you. Steve, you're bound to have a grab and go kit given that you are an investigator. What is in it? Besides candy bars and maybe a small flask of potent alcohol for later.... ;D "potent alcohol for later?" Sam Spade I presume? ROFL How romantic! It's not quite like that, it can be fun though. Why all this talk in this thread about being ready for an alien invasion? The Fire Officer's manual only discusses UFO's and any possible danger approaching one, or it's effects possibly on radios and fire equipment - handling the immediate scene. Read chapter 13 of the manual. It's on the web in complete form. The Fire officer's Guide to Disaster Control has been around for some considerable time and should be all over the Internet. You can do a search and read the famous Chapter 13 contained in it on UFO's and what to do. It is impressive that fire houses all over the nation have a copy. But do many Fire Officer's know about or take seriously it's UFO element within it's pages? I do have a grab & go bag Paulette. See photo. Always ready. Some of the stuff inside. Mufon provided the bag to me years ago, use it where ever I go on UFO cases. I never wore a Mufon jacket on field cases when I was in the organization, who needs to bring attention to oneself at the expense of the witnesses privacy. 'Ordinary' looks good. I did design the Mufon FI patch they still use and sell though - not the terrible patch on the bag...the other one - I designed the Mufon manual cover and emblem seen below. Here's looking at you kid Watch out for MIB's - and "the stuff dreams are made of".... ;D

What fun. When people could smoke and drink their way through all difficulties. And women wore hats and veils. Was that a young Peter Lorrie? You are an incurable romantic Steve/Sherlock/Sam Spade (would you WANT to be cured?). Cool grab and go kit - very impressive. Needs cookies or cheezies though.

Just having fun imagining what you and others seem to think I must be like. I sometimes take a thermos of coffee and an orange. The cookies is a good idea. Yes, a young Peter Lorrie, and an even younger Elisha Cook, Jr. Don't worry, the Steve/Sherlock/Spade thing I blame on past avatars. Steve

I have instant coffee packets in my purse... just in case I'm ever stranded somewhere... But... you should bring more than one cookie along methinks... at least four. ;D Is that pocket knife just a knife or is it a multi-tool? Is it complete with a beer-opener? ;D By the way, love the logo on the manual. It's better than I could do.
