Big Brother has struck again! Ok, check this out. A couple of weeks ago I read a post on facebook I think where somebody was joking that a good way to freak out your neighbors would be to name your home wi-fi service "FBI surveillance vehicle." I assume the idea is that the the neighbors will think that the FBI is spying on them or that maybe there is a criminal living in the area and then they will get all paranoid about it. Ha ha, very funny. I suppose in a country with 300 million people some clowns probably would actually do something like that although I would never expect to see any of them. You can thus imagine the surprise I had this past weekend. Saturday afternoon I parked for the weekend just south of Kansas City. I logged onto the local wi-fi service and got on the computer just like I always do. I was on the 'puter for a couple of hours and everything seemed to be working fine until I tried to shut the computer down late Saturday night. For some reason the crazy thing would not turn off. The screen went blank but the little lights kept flashing off and on like it was still running a program. It sometimes does that if I am getting an update or running a scan but this time I wasn't doing either of those things. After watching it blink on and off for about 20 minutes I finally decided to disconnect the power source because I didn't want the thing running off the batteries all night. I pulled the plug and disconnected the batteries and went to sleep. The next morning I woke up and tried to get back on the 'puter but for some reason I could not connect to the internet. Even though it had been working very well the day before I just could not get on. It wouldn't even act like it was going to connect. I then did a search to see what other wi-fi networks were in the area and that is when I spotted it: FBI Surveillance Vehicle 498What thu heck?? Do FBI surveillance vehicles actually use a wi-fi that says "FBI Surveillance Vehicle?" That would kind of defeat the purpose of having a surveillance vehicle wouldn't it? If they announce their presence to everybody in the neighborhood than any criminal with a computer is going to know when they are around. That would be dumb. Of course we are talking about the government here. Naturally, being the paranoid person that I am I immediately started sneaking around to see if there actually was an FBI vehicle in the area. They usually stick out like a sore thumb so they are pretty easy to spot but I couldn't find anything suspicious. There wasn't anything that looked even remotely like a government vehicle. I then went back and tried to get on the puter again but to no avail. I kept trying until finally in the early afternoon the "FBI surveillance vehicle" wi-fi disappeared. At that point I managed to get on the internet for about 10 minutes...and my computer promptly got a virus and crashed! Stupid computer. I spent the rest of Sunday trying fruitlessly to get it fixed and the "FBI surveillance vehicle" wi-fi showed up again a short period of time later. It stayed the rest of the night. Finally this morning I left and drove to a different location where after a couple of hours I was finally able to get my computer to start working again. I just now got it fixed. So what do y'all think this was all about? Was there really an FBI surveillance vehicle lurking in the area or was this just somebodies sick, twisted idea of a joke? And why was my 'puter having so many problems yesterday? I've stopped in that same place many times and I have never had anything weird happen there before. Never seen that "FBI" wi-fi there neither. WTH

Phone tracking, wiretaps spike under Obama, ACLU saysPublished October 01, 2012 The instances of the Justice Department monitoring electronic communications such as phone calls, emails and even social network updates without a warrant has increased by as much as 60 percent in recent years, according to the American Civil Liberties Union. The surveillance tools – known as either a “pen register” or a “trap and trace” – record such information as phone numbers and the time and length of calls, but not the content. Orders to track phone calls increased 60 percent -- from 23,535 in 2009 to 37,616 in 2011 -- according to Justice Department documents, including ones recently acquired by the ACLU. Orders to track emails and computer network data increased by 361 percent over the same period, though the number of orders was less compared to those for phone calls. The ACLU argues the legal standard to use the devices is lower because they don’t capture content -- unlike wiretaps, which require a judge’s permission. And the government needs submit only to a court a certification stating that it seeks information relevant to an ongoing criminal investigation. Still, Naomi Gilens, writing in a blog for the ACLU, says the information in the documents “underscore the importance of regulating and overseeing the government’s surveillance power.” She also calls both devices “powerfully invasive surveillance tools” and points out that nowadays no special equipment is needed to record such information because it is part of phone companies’ call-routing hardware, unlike 20 years ago. I've been searching the internet to see if the "FBI Surveillance Vehicle" wi-fi is ligit or just a joke but so far I am getting conflicting information. Some people seem to think it is real while others think it is a joke simply because they can not believe the FBI would be that stupid. I wouldn't think they would be that obvious (or stupid) either but then again, we are dealing with the government here. I've seen them do some pretty silly things before. I'm going to keep watch on that particular location to see if it ever shows up there again. I stop at that place pretty frequently so I'll have plenty of opportunities to check on it. If it is somebody's home network it should be there regularly. We shall see.

The US Army is watching its returning troops as the DHS considers them a prime source of terrorists now since they have had military training. What about all the vietnam vets? they are looking for the following things in the returnees Complaints of bias, Frustration with the mainstream parties, reclusiveness, concern over govt conspiracies, visting extreme web sites, altering their reading subjects, peculiar discussions(?) emotionalism and using social networking sites. The southern poverty law center is monitoring e-mails from the troops looking for terrorists to report to the police. As a side issue DOJ is purchasing an unused prison for additional prison space. Why? brain dead zombies are safe however

The most diabolical terrorists we have to worry about right now are the ones in Washington. Especially their leader who resides in the White House. I suggest we get rid of them before they launch another four year attack.

the army has set up its own criteria to identify potential terrorist in the military with the usual inane and rediculous tells being used such as being unhappy with both major parties, using social network sites and changing what one is reading normally. DHS considers returning troop a prime source of terrorists as they have been trained to use weapons. this ignores all the vietnam vets. In related news the elite hsve stepped up purchases of vacation homes that just happen to be 20 ft underground Prime real estate could be developed on the Siegfried line and old coast artilary sites the military has come out with a 500,000 volt night stike for crowd control which is 10 times stronger than a tazer rouch some one with it and it is night night time

the DOJ has purchased an unused prison site the deal being set to close before the first of the year. the new prison is expected to employ about 1,000 people. What is unclear is where all the new federal prisoners are coming from.

I read alot on the Internet and link things together. A geologist cant see into the ground he takes bits and pieces of data then form a wild *bleep* guess as to whats underground. You "wag" it Picking up some here some there as to what is going on. the most common occupation in civilian life in WWII military inteligence was geologist. Jack of all trades master of none You need a year of biology, chemistry, physics and calculus for a BA to which I added astronomy, oceanography and upper division english to get MA. Followed by work in geophysics. All taught me to piece things together and remember the pieces. I also read the police only files my father brought home on reality in the USA when he was in law enforcement they lie alot in the press to keep the country from open civil war., Lying is official policy.

The use of drones in law enforcement is going to pick up and these drones may well be armed with tasers, tear gas and fire arms. A purse snatcher could be subject to a straffing run by a drone. They want the drones to be able to detect heat signatures of bodies in buildings and to be able to peek in windows to check out things inside. Big brother is not only going to be watching but also going to subject people to air attack if needed. I like skeet shooting myself how about you?

the city of Baltimore is setting up its city buses so that the police can listen to conversations on the buses. Your shopping list with beard by the gestopo. A Police force in Washingon state is now using drones over the city. I forgot which city it was. Drones are also being loaned out as trial models for other police forces. Skynet is taking shape for all of you who watched the terminator movies.

St Petersberg has a new armored truck equipt with cameras on all four sides to patrol the streets. it is bullet proof and can check out the streets recording all it sees. they are watching such a truck is also being used in Sacramento. You have to assume it also is armed for defense of course. On the flip side Mayor Bloomberg turned down the national guard for Brooklyn to stop looting because they carry guns as he said. he did not want looters shot while looting

big brother is watching you. School teachers who voice opposition to Obama policies on face book are being referred to their school districts for punishment including possible job loss. Freedom of speech does not apply to school teachers it seems. Students also are being tracked down and identified who post anit Obama comments on the internet. In this case the students are being referred to their schools for "discipline" I must have missed something lately in the news. Since when does a school discipline students for what they may post on the internet?

All sorts of people are being fired because of face book that have not a single thing to do with Obama. One lady wrote on face book that she faked being sick and her boss happens to be on face book too. So how stupid is that really? A Marine has been dismissed because he said on face book that he would disobey an order from Obama. Well..military works for the president so that wasn't too smart either. But it's not 'big brother' firing anyone it's the other users on face book who happen to be bosses, or wives catching their husbands cheating or teachers reading posts from kids or principals reading posts from teachers. No one ever said face book was private and obviously it's not. But making it sound political or governmental is just untrue. If you are a teacher responsible for teaching children...you need to keep your personal beliefs private. A democrat parent might resent a teacher trying to tell her kids that Obama is ruining the country. If you want that type of a job..you have to present a more neutral front to your charges. Unlike my southern grandmother who taught her children that the South didn't really lose the war..they gave up to save the nation. Had she been teaching today...she'd have been justifiably fired for re-writing history. Some things are just simple logic. If you're faking sick...don't be on face book. If you're a Marine..remember the president is actually your boss..if you're having an affair..don't post it on face book where your wife can see it.. ETC. www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/07/26/fired-over-facebook-posts_n_659170.html#s115707&title=Swiss_Woman_Caught

My 5th grade teacher was in her last year of teaching in about 1956 her first year was teaching in the rural south where the first day all the kids came armed with guns or big knives. They told her if they didnt like her they were going to run her out of town. Things have changed some since then. I learned alot from here about the nations history which I imagine is not taught today. My text book on history included illustrations of pioneers fighting indian attack and civil war battles many American heros have been deleated from history books such are paul Reviere, Molly Pitcher, Ethan Allen etc. It is part of our culture. I have books on history going back to 1832 and they give some interesting view points on things compared to modern text books We live in interesting times and the nation is divided about evenly on many issues. It is a modern rerun of 1859 in my humble opinion and it will be interesting to see how things play out

ETC.www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/07/26/fired-over-facebook-posts_n_659170.html#s115707&title=Swiss_Woman_Caught I completely agree. When I joined FarceBoob, I used an an anonymous e-mail address, which after I joined, I deleted. I used a handle instead of my birth-name and I posted no photos of myself. All of the personal information that FarceBoob required during registration, I provided bogus information such as, being born in Perth, Australia in 1920. I never give the same birth-date on any web-chat-room on the InterNet. Break the links.
Frankly, I don't embrace the whole concept of the FarceBoob, it does not promote community evolution, but rather, in the moment social information collection.
The problem with FarceBoob (as I like to call it), is that its a SPYING COMPANY FOR PROFIT. That's the problem, not that its the personification of the 1984 book about gvmnt spying on everyone. Nope, its the fact that FarceBoob was designed from its inception to bypass the civil-liberty protection laws that protect Americans from privacy invasion. Its simple, FarceBoob users sign-away their rights to privacy in the FB registration process. The registration process is a legal, binding contract between the USER and FarceBoob. The end USER is 'allowed' to use FarceBoob, for **FREE** in exchange for their personal information. The USER's personal information is retained (in a large database) and becomes the for-profit intellectual property of FaceBoob.
So?
A few years ago, folks would not list their phone-numbers in a phone-book as they felt doing so might be dangerous....
According to a 2011 Wall Street Journal article regarding FarceBoob, the primary purchasers of FB's user data was the National Security Agency, the Central Intelligence Agency (searching for those terrorists), The Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Drug Enforcement Agency, the local and state police agencies, the credit unions and of course, HR departments of corporations...bosses.
I believe that its extremely dangerous to use FarceBoob, and it will become much more so in the future, as I believe, that our society isn't aware of the INFORMATION WORLD GVMNT which is in its infancy, and is beginning to evolve into the personification of BIG BROTHER. Anybody with a brain can see that such a state is dangerous. Here is an authentic conspiracy against the American way-of-life, with the majority of users are completely clueless and happily using it. Its incredible.
...it is dangerous...

Like Skywalker said, the people behind these things is where the problem is. Unless, the machines learn from us, like that other movie with the "smart fighter jet"? (Jessica Biel, for reference) ;D. Just like old times, sometimes people will have things illegal "planted" on them. But now they will be able to doctor up some surveillance photo also. Uh oh.

face book IS dangerous if you value your privacy...period and lets face it..especially since 9/11 any kind of privacy protocols went out the window. There are spider programs that measure key words people use..and there are actual people monitoring controversial websites and forums. Anyone who hasn't already figured this out is 'sorry' a touch slow. Use the words remote viewing on the forum...I guarantee someone has been drawn by that to investigate..because it is (or can be) used for espionage. Try not to use catch phrases when you talk online and don't say a thing you don't want the rest of the world to know

I never share any info on Facebook that I don't want the whole world to know about. I hardly ever even post anything there. I don't like all of those crazy "apps" that keep popping up all over the place. I'm not clicking on anything if I don't know exactly what it is or what it does. My computer is screwed up enough as it is.

Well, better to know that all is (or can be) known - whether you use a avatar or false BD or not. Just makes it a little harder that's all. Nothing I do is remotely interesting IMO to anyone searching for persons of interest. Including stuff here I think. I mean, someone might be eating donuts and reading this later. I mean, who could stand reading FB as a job? I can barely stand it - and I sort out what my friends and kids post. I guess computer programs zero in on the potentially scary people. I saw a picture that SOMEONE had taken and posted of a man holding his pit bull up and hitting it. His face was contorted with rage. I wouldn't mind someone driving over to check out what he has in his basement (and take his dog away if its still alive). It's almost like people want to be caught doing weird stuff - OR THEY WOULDN'T TELL OR SHOW OTHER PEOPLE.

Yes..they can. After 9/11...it's a no-holds-barred world..it may not be enough to convict..but it's enough to bring charges if they feel it's a real threat. Anything we post on the net is grounds for investigation because security is only an illusion. But they've always had the upper hand...good government hackers give them our banking information and anything else they figure might be important to an investigation. And who caused this? The American people who demonized the government because after 9/11 it became clear there were operatives over here and WHY were we not protected. Hence..just try to take a flight or keep a secret online. There IS a line in Men In Black that is somewhat true. "the only way these people can get on with their happy lives is that they DO NOT KNOW ABOUT IT". There have always been operatives on our soil just as we have them the world over..knowing it just didn't make it easy for a lot of people to sleep nights. Think knowing about 'aliens' being here would make them happy? We are a 'rare' group who actually like to face what is. In some cases..we are ready to over believe....jump on any story...get excited about things like bigfeet..etc. And we think the rest of the world is like that. Nope. A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals (again MIB) because it's true.
