I don't understand "lexicographical inconsistences...and checks written to Stanton Friedman Aye? The "lexi-whatevertheheckhecalled it" inconsistencies had to do with certain type faces that were used on military and government type-writers, as well as certain words, phrases and locations of punctuation marks that were commonly used when typing military of government documents. Klass claimed that the Cutler/Twining memo was totally different from any government documents that originated from that time period and thus could only be aa hoax. Stanton Friedman, who has several thousand government documents in his files, was able to find numerous documents that matched the "inconsistencies" in the Cutler/Twining memo which effectively proved that Klass was wrong in his argument. Klass actually did pay Friedman that time since he lost the wager. Apparently Klass made quite a few of those cash offers for a variety of different reasons.

Paranormal Witness aired an episode last night that featured the Travis Walton case. It was 90 mins long and featured TW along with the logging guys with him the night he was taken. They also interview the sheriff that handled the case, the polygraph examiner that gave the men lie detector tests, and the doctor that examined TW when he came back. It was pretty interesting.

That does sound interesting. I've always been fascinated with the Walton case. I would love to see all of those different people get together and have an open discussion about what really happened. It might put a lot of the rumors and falsehoods to rest once and for all.
What did the sheriff and the polygraph dude have to say about it?

www.openminds.tv/www.openminds.tv/travis-waltons-alien-abduction-story-to-be-featured-on-syfys-paranormal-witness-855/ Travis Walton and witnesses talk famous alien abduction Published on Apr 13, 2012 by openmindstv For more than 36 years, the Travis Walton abduction story has been told countless times through film, print and presentations. Now two eyewitnesses who were present the night of the abduction, are stepping forward to tell their side of the story. For the first time since the incident, more than 36 years ago, Travis Walton, John Goulette, and Steve Pierce were reunited at the 2012 International UFO Congress. Producer Lori Wagner of Digital Films in San Diego and Regression Therapist Yvonne Smith sat down and interviewed all three. They have shared their interviews with Open Minds, and during the conference, in these interviews Goulette and Pierce reveal much of what they personally went through directly after that night, and what their lives have entailed since. That night, they observed the blinding light, sensed the beating pulse, and felt the fear that comes from seeing your friend and co-worker disappear before your eyes. What followed was a stream of disbelief and accusations from law enforcement and the local community. Even after passing lie detector tests, these men's lives have continually been harassed. John Goulette eventually moved out of town, put the memory aside, and went on with his life. Steve Pierce was pressured repeatedly by UFO skeptic Phil Klass to take a bribe and say the whole incident was a hoax. After showing the film made about the event to his daughter, she encouraged him to come forward with his story. The Travis Walton story has stayed consistent and exact for more than 36 years. Now, with additional eyewitness testimony to back up his claim, his amazing ordeal will hopefully be seen with less skepticism, and his journey for the truth appreciated.

It covers one of the most compelling and interesting cases of alien abduction ever alleged and corroborated by more than just the actual victim. On the most recent airing of the SyFy show 'Paranormal Witness' all the men involved with the story, were all seen and heard describing their personal experience of what happened on that fateful night on November 5th 1975 in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest in Arizona. The story describes the events that led up to one of the most believable and heavily investigated cases of alien abduction to have ever been on record. What separates the Travis Walton story from many is the fact that there were witnesses to the abduction. His co workers were there, described seeing the unidentified flying object as it came across their path as they were driving home from a day of logging. Travis Walton exited the vehicle and was struck down by a beam from the hovering craft. The remaining loggers in the car, compelled by absolute terror and certain that Walton was dead take off and fled the scene. For five days police looked for Walton and investigated each of the men that were traveling home that evening suspecting foul play. Travis Walton Fire in the Sky 2011 International UFO Congress[/color]
openmindstv Published on Mar 20, 2012
This is the full presentation from Travis Walton's 2011 appearance at the International UFO Congress in Fountain Hills, Arizona.
Travis Walton claims that in 1975, while working as a logger in Arizona, he and several co-workers came across a UFO in the forest which shot a beam of light at Travis. Frightened, his friends fled the scene. When they returned Walton was gone. Walton recalled waking up on the side of the road; he thought only a few hours had past, but he had actually been missing for 5 days. He later recalled being on the craft and the strange creatures that were there with him.
Travis Walton is the subject of the Paramount Studios movie, Fire in the Sky, based on his book of the same name. His close encounter has become recognized as the best documented case of alien abduction ever recorded. Mr. Walton speaks to audiences and media around the world to share what it has been like living through the ordeal of the experience and its aftermath. He presents the evidence for the incident and takes wide ranging questions from the audience, which usually results in bringing out new perspectives and bits of information previously overlooked.

Here's a video interview of Steve Pierce. One of the interesting things he said is that he has had other UFO encounters besides the Walton incident.

The movie changed the names of some of the people involved. It also had a lot of Hollywood fiction in it so it wasn't very accurate.
Here are the names of the real witnesses: Travis Walton, Mike Rogers, John Goulette, Ken Peterson, Steve Pierce, Dwayne Smith and Allen Dalis
Steve was just a 17 year old high school kid way back then.

Travis Walton’s alleged UFO sighting and subsequent abduction, is one of the strangest, most credible, and most famous alien abduction stories. His experiences were the focus of the 1993 movie Fire in the Sky. Now, 39 years after the event, Walton is inviting the public to join him for a nighttime sky watch at the site where it all went down. Walton says, “I am kind of nervous about it, because it is the first time I go back on the site at night.” He is right to be nervous, because the events that he and his six fellow crew members describe are quite frightful. In a nutshell, the men say they saw a bright light in the forest that they believed to be a fire. They rushed to the site only to find a large metallic disc-shaped object hovering above the forest floor. Walton, being a bit of a show-off, ran off to get a closer look, despite his friends calling for him to get back into the truck. The object shot out some kind of beam at him, and Walton flew several feet in the air. Believing him to be dead, and scared out of their wits, his co-workers took off. Once they came to their senses, they went back for Walton, but he was gone. They reluctantly reported the incident to the police, who thought they had actually killed Walton and made up the UFO story as a cover. Walton was gone for several days, and everyone believed him to dead, when he ended up calling his family from a pay phone near where the UFO was seen. He had thought only a few hours had passed. Walton later remembered strange events taking place while he was gone. He seemed to be aboard the craft they had seen in the forest. Although what he experienced had similarities to other alien abduction accounts, Walton says he can’t say for sure he had any interaction with extraterrestrial beings. For more details about the event you can watch his lecture at the 2011 International UFO Congress below. For obvious reasons, Walton says he avoided the UFO site for many years. He says he went back during the day at the request of a TV show, because he felt “There is safety in numbers, at least the allusion of safety.” As for nighttime visits, Walton says, “I was there one time at night with National Geographic, but other than that I steer clear of there.” Walton says the few times he has visited the site since 1975, he has not experienced anything too unusual. He says, “The weirdest one was when I went back after the forest fire had moved through. They closed out the woods and shut down the roads and didn’t want anyone going in there. But as soon as it opened up, me and my son went out on my motorcycle, and strangely enough, right when we got to the Turkey Spring contract area the motorcycle just cut off like you turned the switch off.” Walton says they hid the bike behind some bushes and walked around. When they returned to the motorcycle, it started right up and he has had no problems with it since. There has been some investigation done in the area to look for physical traces left in the area. He says researchers have found that the trees near where the UFO was seen do show accelerated growth during the time of the sighting. He says he has been told it is similar to that which has been recorded due to radiation. Trees in the area which had fallen prior to the UFO event do not show the same effect. The sky watch event will be held on the anniversary of the UFO event, which was November 5, 1975. This year November 5, falls on a Wednesday night. It will be hosted by Ben Hansen, co-host of SyFy’s Fact or Faked. He will be bringing night vision equipment from his company Night Vision Ops. The next day there will be a press conference at the Holbrook County Courthouse with some of the crew members who saw the UFO in 1975, and the son of the man who owned the local newspaper. All of this is part of the pre-conference events taking place before the Skyfire Summit that weekend in Overgaard, AZ, near the UFO site. Walton is helping to organize the conference which is focused around his experiences. roadtrippers.com/blog/follow-the-most-famous-alien-abductee-back-to-the-site-of-his-harrowing-incident Follow the most famous alien abductee back to the site of his harrowing incidentby Greg Newkirk 20 October, 2014 Travis Walton might not be a name that you immediately recognize, but you might remember his story. On November 5th, 1975, Walton disappeared for from the forest for several days. When he returned to a family that feared him dead, he recounted a harrowing tale of alien abduction that went on to become the subject of the film Fire in the Sky. Now, for the first time since the year of his abduction, he's going back to the place is happened...and inviting you along. Long considered one of the most credible tales of alien abduction, Walton's experience was backed up by six of his fellow loggers who witnessed a large metallic disc land in an Arizona forest. The six men looked on in horror as Walton ran to get a closer look at the object, only to be lifted several feet into the air by a beam of light. Scared and confused, the men left Walton and raced to the local police station to recount what they had seen. The police, on the other hand, believed that the loggers had actually killed Walton and come up with an outlandish story to cover their tracks. Missing for several days, Walton's family believed he was dead until he rang them from a phone booth near the site of his abduction. Of course, Walton only thought he had been gone for several hours. As the days wore on, glimpses of his missing days returned to him, memories that seemed to point toward his boarding the strange craft in the forest. His story soon became the subject of national attention, landing him a book deal that eventually led to the film Fire in the Sky, a movie with one of the most terrifying depictions of alien abduction ever. www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/04/23/travis-walton-still-haunted-by-ufo_n_7119910.html UFO-Alien Abduction Still Haunts Travis Waltonby Lee Speigel lee.speigel@huffingtonpost.com Posted: 04/23/2015 This is a depiction of 3 alien beings that Travis encountered during his abduction in 1975 Close encounters of the FOURTH kind. That's when a person claims to have been kidnapped by a UFO and its reportedly otherworldly occupants. Of course, there's no tangible evidence that anyone has ever been taken aboard an extraterrestrial spacecraft. But there are those who claim they've been abducted, and their stories are chilling. Travis Walton's terrifying account is the stuff movies are made from, and he joins us on the HuffPost Weird News podcast to talk about that day 40 years ago, when the then 22-year-old logger says he was knocked unconscious, and woke up to find he was surrounded by ETs aboard their ship. "It was a metallic, glowing disc, making some very strange sounds," Walton told us. "The closer I got to it, the more scared we all got and they were swearing at me to get away from there, and when I got up close, it suddenly got louder and started to move. "I jumped for cover and then jumped up to run back to the truck, and that's when this blast of energy hit me, and I just felt this numbing shock go through my body. But the crew said it threw me through the air 10 or 20 feet and I landed in a way that they were immediately certain it had killed me, and they fled." The incident began on Nov. 5, 1975, after a long day of work in the Sitgreaves National Forest near Heber, Arizona. Walton and six other loggers were heading home when they suddenly saw a 40-foot-diameter shiny disc hovering in the air. Walton first told his extraordinary story in a 1978 book, "The Walton Experience," which became a 1993 film, "Fire In The Sky." His account has just been turned into a candid documentary, "Travis: The True Story of Travis Walton." Chances also are, that nearing the end of it you felt an overpowering compulsion to throw your bag of popcorn on to the screen, and yell "THAT'S NOT HOW IT HAPPENED!" as you stormed out of the theater --or were escorted out in handcuffs. Fact is, Fire in the Sky is paradoxical in being the best AND worst cinematic depiction of the alien abduction phenomenon in a major motion picture. In an exclusive excerpt from his book Silver Screen Saucers [Amazon US & UK], film researcher and author Robbie Graham shares with us the inside story of what really happened during the arduous journey to bring Fire in the Sky to the big screen; a movie studios rejected from the get-go, because they couldn't understand it or place it in the usual Sci-Fi box where they put all aliens and space monsters. In a way, Hollywood's repudiation of abductions is but a symptom of how our society at large still hasn't found a way to tackle with this confounding phenomena, even 4 decades after Travis Walton suffered his amazing experience in a snowy Arizonian woods. Which is why Robbie's work is so important for the people inside and outside of the UFOlogy field. Enjoy: ******************************************************************** EXCLUSIVE EXCERPT FROM SILVER SCREEN SAUCERS: SORTING FACT FROM FANTASY IN HOLLYOOD’S UFO MOVIES by ROBBIE GRAHAM (TAKEN FROM THE CHAPTER ‘BREAKING THROUGH,’ WHICH EXAMINES HOLLYWOOD’S DEPICTIONS OF ALIEN ABDUCTION) ***FIRE IN THE SKY: THE INSIDE STORY*** Screenwriter reveals why that infamous abduction scene was so creatively distorted… 1993 saw the release of Fire in the Sky – Hollywood’s take on the famous Travis Walton UFO abduction case of 1975, in which the Arizona logger claimed to have been taken aboard a flying saucer and later into an expansive spaceport, and to have interacted with two different species of aliens – the now archetypal ‘Grays’ (or a variant of them), and attractive human-looking beings (commonly known in UFOlogy as ‘Nordics’). What distinguishes Walton’s story from innumerable other accounts of cosmic kidnapping is that his apparent abduction was witnessed in part by the six other men on his logging crew. They sped back into town that night to inform bemused authorities of how a UFO had zapped Travis in front of their very eyes. Assuming he was dead, the terrified loggers had left their colleague where he lay, the saucer looming above his lifeless body. A swirling storm of confusion, anger, and allegations was soon to descend on the sleepy town of Snowflake. The loggers, having reported to police that their friend had been taken by a UFO, immediately were considered suspects in Walton’s disappearance and possible murder. After no less than five days, Walton returned. He was found in a telephone box some three miles outside of Snowflake, huddled and shivering. He had five days’ growth of beard and was visibly malnourished. As he was taken back into town he began babbling about strange creatures with large eyes. He assumed he’d been gone just a couple of hours and was stunned into prolonged silence when he was told almost a week had passed. Today, the case remains one of the most famous on record, and this is thanks in no small part to it having attracted the attention of Hollywood. The movieFeaturing solid performances from D.B. Sweeney as Travis and Robert Patrick as logging-crew-leader Mike Rogers, the Fire in the Sky movie was a reasonably faithful accounting of the Walton experience – that is until its last act, which notoriously pummelled the meat of Walton’s encounter out of all recognition. The Nordic beings described by Travis and their walkabout with him in a spaceport were nowhere to be seen in the movie. Walton’s skittish Grays were replaced with frightful goblin-like beings who literally drag the logger like a sack of spuds through their pestilent, rotting spaceship – all dank tunnels and dripping embryonic sacks – before gluing him to a table with a suffocating membrane and subjecting him to graphic torture with a thick needle to the eyeball. It is a horrific sequence, so powerful as to almost erase all memory of the events that precede it. This marked the point in time when alien abduction truly entered the horror genre. The film would go on to influence abduction-themed fright-fests such as Altered (2005), The Fourth Kind (2009), Dark Skies (2013), Alien Abduction (2014), and, in particular, Extraterrestrial (2014), to name but a few. The UFO community was outraged by Fire in the Sky, and all fingers were pointed at screenwriter Tracy Tormé. In a 2014 interview with the author, Tormé explained his writing process for Fire in the Sky, the cultural climate in which it was written, and the circumstances which led to the movie being so creatively distorted. Still have it on tape. I Have not watched it in years though. I guess I will have to wait and see. One thing I always liked D B Sweeney. You just don't see him anymore.

When I heard Travis speak a couple of years ago, he was hoping to get "Fire in the Sky" remade because the producer took so many liberties with it. Apparently that's not going to happen. Too bad!

This latest video posted of Travis is awesome! He really gets to the heart of the matter, and the responsibilities felt, in a short, considered way. Though I don't understand why he keeps going under testing, I'm impressed that he may do so only as a commmitment to help. 😊
Seeing how most people know something about the Travis Walton case, I still hold out hope that a new movie will be made!
